What makes Anomaly Unique?
There are a lot of other Trek games out there on the Internet.
Perhaps you've been to some of them. If you have, the first thing that you will
notice is that Anomaly is unlike any other Trek game out there. Some of our
players have likened it to 'being on one of the shows'. But what separates
Anomaly from the pack, and makes it unique and anomalous in regards to other
Trek games?
-
CONCENTRATED ROLEPLAY:
Anomaly is set in one location, a space station on the fringe of the
Federation/Romulan/Klingon borders. This does not mean that we don't move
around to strange new worlds. By locating everyone in one spot, we allow for
maximum roleplay interaction between the crew members of one location.
-
NO CODED SPACE: Because
of our concentrated roleplay philosophy, we have no need for coded space.
This means we have no coded consoles, or coded ships. We also have no coded
economy. If this type of text-based video game interests you, allow us to point
you in the direction of Trade Wars 2002.
-
EPISODES: Anomaly runs
weekly 'episodes', where one of the members of the production staff will run
an adventure in which the characters can participate. These episodes make it
up on the web page as Log Entries and pass into Anomaly Canon. We also take
story pitches from players so that you too can help write episodes for the
game.
-
VARIETY: Anomaly
offers a wide variety of character concepts. We have a character generation
system that is detailed, bug-free and allows for a variety of races and
occupations. We allow the following races: Andorian, Bajoran, Benzite,
Betazoid, Bolian, Centauran, Ferengi, Grazerite, Human, Klingon, Lurian,
Napean, Racially Mixed, Romulan, Tellarite, Tiburonian, Trill, Vulcan, and
Zakdorn.
-
FRIENDLY STAFF: Tired
of games where the staff doesn't give a damn? We've got a great team of
well-trained, ethical production staff who are friendly not only to
experienced players but new players, too. We have a system of organization
that allows us to maintain constant communication about open and closed
issues, so communication problems among the staff is kept to a minimum.
