The Sandstorm

The Sandstorm, as the Dulcais pilots call it, is a thick cloud of interstellar dust coreward from Dulcais Prime. It overlaps four sectors, but the bulk of it is in the Dulcais sector. There are intense plasma storms that constantly brew in the Sandstorm, making travel in the area inconvenient at best and disastrous at worst.

Sensors are practically nullified inside the Sandstorm, reducing their range to approximately 30 meters.

It was in the Sandstorm that Michael Edwards, acting captain of the USS Aegis, defeated a Borg Cube and a Lithian ship in one fell swoop.
