The Anomaly

The anomaly appears as a bright blue-white light, rapidly pulsing and flashing. It is approximately one thousand meters in size. There is a ten thousand kilometer no-fly zone around the event.

The anomaly is a recursive-fold chroniton event of a previously unrecorded nature. Studying it initially proved difficult, as probes entering it imploded, and biological samples sent through were disintegrated. Wendy Tyler is the specialist assigned to the anomaly.

The anomaly was caused by a temporal accident, similar to a warp-core breech. It appeared the same time as the artifact. It is a byproduct of this temporal accident. It is, in Wendy Tyler's words, an effect, not a cause to an effect. The anomaly's mysteries have been all but solved. The only thing that makes it cosmically interesting is the fact that it exists at all.

In 2375, Engineers from Station 419 distributed a sensor buoy net around the anomaly.
