The aging hotel's most prominent feature is floor to ceiling windows behind the grand staircase. In daylight, on a fair day, the massive lobby would be flooded with sunlight. Only it isn't. It is a dark and stormy night. Aside from frequent flashes of lightening from the outside, the room is festively lit by strings of party lights, and festooned with black and orange streamers. Fading, torn wallpaper adorns every wall and colorful leaves are strewn upon the floor to blow about like confetti on a sourceless wind. At the reception desk and mailroom to one side, with cobweb clad keys still hanging on pegs, a spooky-themed buffet, with bowls of candy, candy-covered fruit, and a foamy green punch. The attendant has a bedsheet over his head... but his hands are nearly transparent on the counter. An ancient indoor tree in the center of the room, ringed with benches, has had it's gnarled branches strung with apples for a game. The open expanse of the room is opened for dancing, with a "live" band. Many of the dancers are only visible from head to knee... apparitions that entreat partygoers to join them. Everywhere there are large orange gourds, some hollowed and lit from within, others whole and awaiting cutting. On the staircase, ghostly traffic shuttles up and down busily and in hotel uniform. It would seem there is further to-do upstairs.

Lopez folds down her ladder, the last string of lights kindling on their timer. "Per-fecto," she says, and prompts, "Computer, dissolve ladder, unlock the arch, and run the program. Test-authorization, alpha."

"Have you decided what you're wearing for costume," asks Krylow, as Lopez finishes with the ladder. Even as he waits on an answer he turns to glance around the hotel's first floor as the program starts up.

The dead branches from a small tree scrape against the window.

Lopez looks pleased with their efforts, rolling down her sleeves. She answers Lieutenant Krylow, "Its going to beat up on my quota, but you can't take it all with you, verdad?"

Krylow grins to her, then back to the room in general. "This is a heck of a holoprogram. I think people are going to love the work you've done. And if they don't I'll force them to." A little pause. "The ghosts are a nice touch."

A moaning howl seeps in between the floorboards, keening into a wail before fading into the ether once more.

"You think so? Do you think they're, you know, too solid?" Ana asks. A jagged bolt of lightening flares suddenly outside the rain-pelted windows, causing the Mission Operations officer to flinch, involuntarily. Shame-faced, she laughs. "We do good work. But really, I can't wait to see what everyone thinks of..." Ana jerks her chin toward the top of the staircase.

Krylow glances up the stairs. "Oh? What surprises did you conjure up for us up there?" he says asks, starting towards the stairs himself.

A low, deep-throated growl emanates from the depths of the shadows.

Lopez crosses her arms across her chest, and watches the airy spirits she has created in their endless procession up and down the staircase. To Alek, she says, "Words fail. You'll see. Its not like down here, and thats for sure. Did you want to see it now, or tonight?"

"Let's look now," says Krylow, giving Lopez a go ahead gesture while he waits near the bottom of the stairs. "I'd like to see it as soon as I could."

Lopez mounts up the first couple stairs ahead of him, holding the railing. "Thats because you don't know whats up there," she says, wiggling her eyebrows, and conjuring a hammy 'evil laugh'.

Lopez heads up to the second floor.

Lopez has left.

A ghoul shuffles down the hallway, groaning as it passes.

Krylow comes upstairs.

Krylow has arrived.

The hallways are long and claustrophobic in character at the top of the stairs. It is almost as though the walls tilt and bow in. Additionally, the ghostly traffic from the lobby fragments on the upper floor. Some apparitions go one way, some another, and still others don't bother with hallways and melt through the walls instead. They will even pass through slow or loitering individuals, often producing a case of the heebie-jeebies, like cobwebs on exposed skin. One thing is certain: The procession disappears, as do most of the lights, a limited distance from the stairway. Which leaves the curious wayfarer alone in the dark. The corridors themselves are maze-like in their complexity. Each one is lined with doors with nonsensical numbers nailed to their faces, not a single one in sequence. There is noise from behind every doorway, or even worse, total silence. Some are locked. Some are not. Some are missing handles. Mirrors at the junction of hallways show "things" moving on the other side that do not appear to reflect reality. Moving, indeterminable places in the air become intensely cold at intervals, and shadows twist and shift, never seeming totally empty. The very walls seem whisper to one another as one passes, and the party downstairs seems very, very far away.

The creaks and groans of an old building settling in for the night fill the air.

Krylow reaches the top of the stairs and stops, head turning as he looks over the ghosts, ghouls and darkened hallways. "Now this is going to be fun. I really like this. The noises, I think, are the best part."

Lopez says, "The doors cycle too... it pulls from a bank of nightmare scenarios, so it will be pretty unique for everyone brave enough to yank one open... Me, I like the walls." She demonstrates, moving off center towards a dark section of the hall. The section of wall groans, and seems to bulge a few inches towards her. "I just hope no one takes kids up here. I'll end up on the counselor's hitlist."

With a screech and blazing eyes, a black cat streaks across the floor and disappears into the shadows.

Krylow laughs and shakes his head. "No, Ana, I don't think so," he says, still grinning. "I think you'll end up being everyone's favourite party planner." He looks around the halls again and then turns towards the stairs. "Come on, let's go grab something to eat before tonight and you can tell be about your costume," he says, as the camera fades to black.

A serving platter floats through the room carried by an invisible ghost.

Payne has arrived.

The haunted hotel setup in 419's holodecks is active. The pumpkins are grinning and lit, the punch is fizzy and cold, and the candied appled but await teeth to start down the primrose path to cavities. And the band, "The Hrisaals" cover, "I Put A Spell on You" decked out in full ghoulish gear. Lopez, in her own elaborate party trappings, waits by the arch to meet and greet the partygoers. As it passes her, she snatches a piece of candy corn off the roving ghostly platter with a grin. Ana *loves* Halloween.

Adansae has arrived.

A low, deep-throated growl emanates from the depths of the shadows.

Lopez is on meet-and-greet detail as the band continues to play through "I Put A Spell on You" and partially invisble dancers kick up their heels. Ana herself is snacking on candy-corn, pilfered off a tray as she waits for guests.

Adansae enters with a wide smile, greeting Lopez with a wave before heading further into the main room. She takes time to examine the decorations and admire the care that's been put into the buffet display.

Lopez waves in response to Adansae as Medical is finally represented (the bunch of workaholics). "Don't forget to try bobbing for apples!" she calls cheerfully.

Adansae eyes the apples distrustfully before looking back to Lopez. "I'll save that for a bit later," she calls, filling up a spooky glass with green punch. This, too, is eyed with a touch of suspicion before she shrugs and drinks away.

Through the cracked glass of the windows, lightning flashes and lights up the single, dead tree on the horizon.

Krylow has arrived.

Payne comes inside the room, and looks around, "wow, this is really nice." he says, taking in all the effort that was put in to the room. He glances at the other people and takes note of their attire.

Adansae jumps at the crack of lightening, nearly splashing punch on herself -- then laughs and braces herself against the nearest piece of furniture. "I'm not jumpy," she declares. "And I'm not nervous. Just because I grew up listening to ghost stories and being assured that the dead hold grudges is no reason to be nervous."

With a screech and blazing eyes, a black cat streaks across the floor and disappears into the shadows.

Lopez greets the newcomers cheerfully, "Well, I certainly hope you think so... you should get some punch and poke around, see what you can see..."

Krylow steps into the haunted house, fiddling a little with his vest as he does. Glancing around he spots Lopez, grins and heads her way. "Ana, you're looking rather....hot. You sure you're not going to burn down the room?" he teases. He turns to Ada and nods. "Good evening."

Adansae no sooner relaxed after the crack of lightening when the screeching cat flashes across the floor. "Did you see that?" She looks up with wide eyes just in time to catch sight of Krylow and give him a wave. "Does that mean we all have bad luck, or just the person who trips over him?

Lopez looks Alek over with a laugh and says, "Party hasn't gotten nearly that far along yet, Chief. Give it some time." And she pecks her friend's cheek, and pokes at his vest, "I'm glad you could steal away... earlier than I thought!"

A serving platter floats through the room carried by an invisible ghost.

Lopez calls to Adansae, "Does it count if its a hologram? The luck thing? Because I dinged a bunch of mirrors up there..."

Krylow turns to Adansae, and chuckles. "Well, if it really is bad luck then the station will be falling apart by the end of the night," he jests, before returning the peck on cheek with Lopez. "Did you look upstairs yet, Counselor? Its even better up there."

Adansae considers Lopez's question with a smile. "I'm pretty sure it does," she calls with a slight teasing edge to her voice. "I hope you kept track, so you know how many years of misfortune you're up against." At Krylow's suggestion, she turns her gaze to the staircase. "Ooooh." Like a little girl contemplating a trip to the candy store.

Lopez holds up her hand and pretends to tick it off until she runs out of fingers, "I'll get back to you on that-- hey, are you REALLY going to go up there -alone-?"

. o O Lopez thinks, "A year already. It feels so long when you're living it, and so short reviewing it."

Through the cracked glass of the windows, lightning flashes and lights up the single, dead tree on the horizon.

Adansae gives a quick shake of her head to Lopez's question. "Oh, no," she replies. "I'm going to insist that someone come along to protect me from the lurking evil." She fixes her gaze against Krylow and brightens her smile. "Did you bring your sword?"

Lopez smirks, "You're lucky if this prince among engineers brought his PADD to the party. Go save the fair maiden, hero," she laughs. "You'll both be back."

Krylow quirks an eye to Adansae, and then says, "A sword would do me nae good, lassie," in a fake accent. "I only brought me tricorder. Now, if I could scrounge up a wee bit oh whiskey, I'd be happy."

"A tricorder," Adansae sighs with a shake of her head. "That'll put the fear of Federation into the lurking creatures of the night." There's no whiskey in sight, but she turns to fill a goblet with green punch for the engineer.

Lopez snorts, and says to Alek, "Oh, stop, you old charmer. You know what that accent does to my knees." She mocks being all rubbery, and grabs a slice of apple.

The air suddenly becomes slightly thick, as if filled with the webs of large, black spiders.

Krylow laughs and shakes his head a little, before gesturing to the stairs and taking the offered punch. "Shall we then? Barana would be annoyed if I didn't protect you," he teases.

"Argh, the black-eyed wench in absentia," Lopez grins. "Be careful up there, Counselor."

Adansae waves her hands through the air as she leads the way to the staircase. "If I'm eaten by a giant spider or it's mother--" She turns to call back to Lopez, "let Barana know who didn't protect me!" Laughing, she walks up, taking the steps two at a time.

Adansae heads up to the second floor.

Adansae has left.

Revere has arrived.

Krylow chuckles again, and with punch in hand heads up the stairs to the upper level.

Krylow heads up to the second floor.

Krylow has left.

Lopez meets and greets from the arch near the mailroom, currently whistling a morbid little tune to the departure of Adansae and Krylow to the dreaded second floor.

Revere steps through the doors in an ancient uniform, eyebrows lifting when he takes in the setting. "Isn't this a bad literary pun?" he asks Lopez, rather cheerfully.

Weston has arrived.

A shadow suddenly appears behind you, long arm-like shadows blotting out the light.

"Oh, it absolutely positively is. It only gets worse from here, Ensign," she says, and motions in. "Oooh. Golden-age of Fleet... nice duds. Have some punch."

Revere clears his throat as he shoulders away the shadow that came from behind. "Is it going to turn me into a zombie or some other creepy crawly?" he asks as he turns toward the punch table.

Lopez says, "No, unfortunately nothing here came from the 'Zone."

. o O Revere thinks, "Harsh."

Nevaren has arrived.

"I've had a lot to drink at the Zone, and I've never been turned into a zombie. At least, not that I can remember..." Revere muses as he takes a glass of punch.

A serving platter floats through the room carried by an invisible ghost.

Says the Flaming Lopez to the Revere, "They must be serving you the good stuff. No slug juice for you." She turns back toward the arch to greet party-goers, and once again snatches a snack from the roving platter when it passes.

Look whose entered! It's that masked vigilante of ancient californian Justice ZORRO! And his Fae sidekick... Wait a moment. Zorro didn't have a faery sidekick. Well This Zorro Does. Our Pale chief engineer, resplendent in black and black and, wow, more black slips into the room with the winged little fairy princess riding on his shoulders. He nods and smiles to officers as he passes them, the little girle giggling and waving a wand that looks like it started life as a pipe cleaner wrapped around a sparkly... stick.. thingy... Oh and it has a light up star on top!

Revere quirks a grin before he steps into the crowd at large. "It just goes to show that a smile like mine can get me anywhere."

Smirking at the parting rejoinder of Revere, Lopez eyes the newest pair. "The fox," comments Lopez, with a short laugh. "And a dryad! You may just be tall enough with her help to get a bobbing apple..." She scoots by Zorro, and warns quietly, "Don't take her upstairs. Scary."

With a screech and blazing eyes, a black cat streaks across the floor and disappears into the shadows.

. o O Lopez thinks, "Last thing I need is to put another kid into therapy."

Nevaren's daughter eeps and gasps as the cat screeched across the floor and hugs ar her fathers neck hard. Nev makes a choking sound. "Love.. too... tight... too... tight." he manages and works her little nd surprisngly strong hads away from his neck. Air flow restored he looks to Lopez and chuckles. "Thank you for the warning."

Revere glances up the stairs, wrinkling his nose. "What's up there?" he asks the party in general.

Lopez counters, "What do you THINK is up there?"

Nevaren raises an eyebrow. His daughter just looks at the stairs.

"Not a building inspector," Revere replies with a grin. "Look at those stairs."

Lopez cracks into a smile. "Hey Chief... Would you like to leave Sitka with me and the candy, and accompany Ensign Smarty-pants up there?"

Channa has arrived.

A moaning howl seeps in between the floorboards, keening into a wail before fading into the ether once more.

Weston makes his way into the room, looking around for a few moments. It seems that he's been rather quick with his costume, as it simply seems to be someone who could possibly be described as James Bond.

Nevaren hmmmmms and thinks about it a moment... H elooks up at his daughter, whom leans over him and looks down from her perch. "You be a good fairy princess." he tells her and she nods. he lets her slide down his back. He turns around and readjusts her little wings before he does the same for his Zorro hat. "Thanks." he tells Lopez then looks to Revere "Up to some inspection?" he asks

Payne finishes walking around, and notes more people flooding in. He looks at the top of the stairs, then to Lopez, "Whats up there?

Revere raises both of his eyebrows, then tugs on his uniform jacket. "I suppose so, sir," he replies. "I'll even lead the way, so as to take the... whatever is up there for you."

Watters has arrived.

Channa walks into the holodeck and takes a moment or two to take alook around her, she seems pleased with the decor by the look on her face. After inspecting the room she look around at those gather here, looking for someone perhaps.

Lopez offers a hand to the fairy princess, and says, "So, whaddya think... like candy corn, or cupcakes more?" She turns to greet the newcomer at the door. "So how do -you- take your punch?" she asks Weston. To Payne, she says, "Take a vic-er, friend, and go find out?"

Nevaren rolls his eyes. "Okay then. You first." he says with a smirk. "I hope this isn't going to be the case where I wish I had replicated a REAL sword."

Payne nods, "well, I am still waiting on Zevarin to arrive. I am actually starting to worry about her. She hasn't shown up yet." He looks at the stairs, then back at lopez, remaining quiet.

A piercing shriek suddenly rends the air, fading to a low moan before dying away.

Revere clears his throat, then steps up the stairs -- bravely leading the charge.

Goodwin has arrived.

Revere heads up to the second floor.

Revere has left.

Watters makes his way along into the holodeck, glancing around a little bit after he clears the doorway to take in the setup for this evening's festivities. "Nice..." he comments to himself under his breath, before heading further in.

Nevaren heads up to the second floor.

Nevaren has left.

The work of Commanding done for the day, assuming no Jem'Hadar fleet are closing in on the Station, Commander Goodwin enters the party in his outrageous golfing outfit. He twirls his putter. "Very nice," he agrees with Watters.

Lopez eyes the commanding officer, the Chief Engineer's daughter standing beside her. "Oh, please tell me you haven't been spending THAT much time with the captain that you're now sharing wardrobe Captain... can I got a holorecording of this?" She whistles low. "Hot stuff."

Takamura has arrived.

Goodwin does a little twirl for Lopez, showing it off. "See? You got it in one. I dressed up as the Captain, and let me tell you, I feel comfortable doing that largely because the Captain is about eleven light-years from here." He goes to help himself to some punch.

Jolvan has arrived.

Channa walks out of the door so the others behind her can get in, it's then she senses Andrew come in behind her and turns to greet him. "Andrew. " The betazoid waves, then takes a minute to admire his outfit. "Nice. " She says. "What are you?" She asks, nodding towards Goodwin and smirking a little at his explaination.

Weston looks around for a few more moments, before he hears the question, and grins a little, "Shaken, not stirred," he replies, with a grin. He then looks around again, for a few moments, "Looks like quie a nice place, this one." He can't hold back a grin as he sees Goodwin and hears the explanation. "Very nice," he offers, after a few moments.

K'net-mauri has arrived.

Watters turns his head as he hears his name called by an all too familiar voice, giving Channa a wide smile as he takes in the outfit. "Not too shabby yourself..." Watters tells Channa with a little grin, pausing for a moment to try and think of how to explain this to a betazoid. "It's the uniform of a cavalryman from the nation-state of England on Earth almost a thousand years ago" Watters tells her, figuring that's perhaps the best explanation he can give. "From what were called the Napoleanic Wars, to be specific"

A serving platter floats through the room carried by an invisible ghost.

The band continues to play, picking up the tempo. The apparition dancers move aside for some of the station's kids, running through on their way to the apple-bobbing contest. Lopez pours some punch for Sitka and some for herself, and takes a seat on the edge of the counter. "Just remember," she says, "-if you go upstairs, its worth taking a partner."

K'net-mauri steps in and pauses, looking around at the holographic decor, and the costumery.

"In addition," Goodwin hastens to add. "In case he comes back early, for a little bit, the self-destruct codes answer to me." Because the Station is about worth saving Josh from embarrassment. "You look nice, Mister Lopez."

Channa nods her head up and down slowly and just smiles. "I have no idea, what your on about but I shall look it up. " She says then smiles at Lopez. "Nice party, Lieutenant Lopez. Look like someone spent a lot of time and effect here. " She tells the woman with a smile. "And what's up stairs." She asks, smiling at Sitka.

The fire-creature that is Lopez laughs and says, "If he comes back early, you can exchange fashion pointers. It could be the beginning of a bee-yoo-tiful friendship. Thanks, Sir." She hefts Sitka up to sit with her, as the Ambassador sticks his head in. She motions in welcome. To Channa, she says, "I wait ALL year for this particular Terran holiday. I hope its passable, at least. And I'm not telling whats upstairs, except that the kids can't go."

K'net-mauri nods to Lopez, regarding her curiously. He's not in a costume at all, unless his ever-so-serious elegant robe is a costume. He wears it all the time.

Takamura arrives at the party ready to plunder some booty. Resting a hand on the hilt of his cutlass, he surveys the scene around him. Spotting the group gathered together, he heads over to Lopez, et al.

Watters laughs a bit at Channa's response before giving a little shrug. "Best I could explain it, anyway" Watters tells Channa, figuring that's about the best he can come up with. Hearing Lopez's reply to Channa's question about upstairs, he grins at Channa and adds "Well, we might just have to find out what's up there then"

Goodwin looks confused and glances up towards the upstairs. "Looks like I'll need to check it out then," he remarks, downing his punch. "Anyone up for taking a walk up to see what the house has in store for us?"

Jolvan walks in and looks around not realy sure what it is he is seeing.

Channa oh's softly and nods her head at Lopez. "Ah I was wondering what this was all about, I was just told to look up something scary from Earth's history and dress up in it. " She tells them woman, a warm smile is given to Takamura and the Ambassador as they join. "Hmmm I'm not so sure. " She says eyeing the ghost that past them by. "Sounds kinda scary. " She tells Ensign Watters. "But if you insist."

Weston smiles as he looks around for a few moments, studying the surroundings a bit carefully. He glances to the stairs up, smiling slightly for a few moments.

A shadow suddenly appears behind you, long arm-like shadows blotting out the light.

K'net-mauri, still near the arch, nods to Jolvan. "Jolan'tru."

Lopez asks of their new Romulan guests, "Have you ever been to an All Hallow's Eve celebration, since I should explain some of this to Miss Channa as well? You're all welcome to come in and look around."

"Hey, what could possibly go wrong?" Watters replies to Channa with a grin. "You've got a security officer with a fake sword for escort" he adds jokingly, before glancing around for a few moments just to take in some of the other costumes.

Lopez greets her departmental head with a false patch-eyed argh of a grin.

K'net-mauri nods to Lopez and says, "I attended the one two years ago. Which doesn't mean I understand it."

Jolvan hears the familar voice and ceases to gawk at the stange apparitions to wlak over to the ambassador,"Jolon'tru, sir. How are you this evening?"

Channa looks towards Watters then back towards Lopez. "Oh how kind of you. " The diplomat says, hooking her arm into Andrews and making them both head that way. "If you don't mind Andrew, I love learning about other cultures and after all this is yours. " She smiles up at the tall man, pulling him towards Ana.

K'net-mauri smiles dryly at Jolvan. "Well enough," he says.

Takamura grins back at Lopez, affecting a pirate-like accent. "Ahoy, matey. Where be ye keeping your treasure?" He then looks at the others gathered with a smile and a dip of his head.

"Mister Takamura," says Goodwin with a nod of his head, brushing by to head on towards the stairs for the house. "Mister Watters, Ms. T'erij, are you coming?"

Jolvan looks around at the other guest and their various styles of dress before looking back at K'net-mauri,"No costume, sir?"

"We'll be up in a few moments, sir" Watters replies to Goodwin. "I believe Channa wanted to hear the explanation of all of this first" He adds in explanation. And, of course, since Channa kinda has him by the arm that means Watters is pretty much going to be kept in tow.

K'net-mauri shakes his head, "No," he tells Jolvan. "I've never been able to interest myself in looking like a pillock."

A flight of gore-fanged bats swoops through the room, their claws nearly snagging hair.

Goodwin nods his head slightly. "Very well." And Goodwin makes his way on up the stairs, bound for the second floor for the haunted house of HORRORS. Etc.

Goodwin heads up to the second floor.

Goodwin has left.

Lopez smiles. "Fair enough... as it happens, this is a cultural holiday that seems to have sprung from several sources, for several reasons. In some cultures of Early Earth, similar holidays celibrated the end of the year and honored ancestors who had gone before. People would leave offerings of food, and make wards to keep away "evil spirits". It was populrized in the late nineteenth, and twentieth centuries, and became a night of mischief and/or sweets. Children would dress as ghouls, and go play pranks while collecting candy and playing games. Generally, its for fun."

"Aye, me hearty," Takamura replies. "I be following ye upstairs." He then begins to stalk his way upstairs.

Takamura heads up to the second floor.

Takamura has left.

Jolvan dodges teh bats giving them and odd look,"For fun?"

Payne follows the others upstairs. Obviously finished with the lower level.

Payne heads up to the second floor.

Payne has left.

Channa seems to take this in a soft smile on her lips. "It sound rather exciting I wish L'van was here, he would have loved dressing up and getting candy. " She Channa says, she moves her eyes towards Andrew squeezing his arm in gratitude for excusing them to the second officer.

Weston listens to those nearby, smiling a little as he listens. He looks around, eyes returning to the stairs, after a few moments.

Lopez says, "When you make light of things that frighten you, you can in that way lessen their effect on you. And some just like the thrill of a scare. Upstairs is about the scare."

K'net-mauri smiles at Jolvan, amused.

Payne comes downstairs.

Payne has arrived.

. o O Revere thinks, "She snubbed me. She's never snubbed me before."

Watters smiles back at Channa before turning his attention back to Lopez and her explanation of things. "Amazing what you learn... and here I always just thought it was a great excuse for parties when I was a kid" Watters comments with a little grin.

Payne heads up to the second floor.

Payne has left.

. o O Revere is confused.

There's an eerie sensation, as if someone's watching.

Channa laughs softly and then seems to feel alittle uncomfortable. "Hmm is seems a little scary here never mind up stairs. "l

Channa laughs softly and then seems to feel alittle uncomfortable. "Hmm is seems a little scary here never mind up stairs. " Channa gives a little sudder then turns back to Lopez. "What sort of tricks do they play?" She asks, taken in by the whole tale and only getting distracted by the things around here now and then.

"Well, the custom is to go from dwelling to dwelling, saying "Trick or Treat." Usually you get a treat, but sometimes, you get hit with a waterballoon, or dashed with flour... Some just stay out late and play flashlight tag. There was a time when there'd be a lot of vandalism on Halloween, but thats behind us, now."

"No sense of adventure..." Watters teases Channa quietly after hearing the 'nevermind upstairs' comment, before turning his attention back to the explanation of things. After all, he's really not trying to interrupt. Just some chances to tease Channa are too good to pass up on.

Channa nods her head again and ahs and ohs now and then. "Sound kinda risky if you ask me, I know what floor is but what is a waterballon?" She asks frowning at Lopez then glancing towards Watters with a sour look before her eyes are on the LTJG again.

Jolvan turns his head towards the up stairs,"What is up stairs?"

K'net-mauri says dryly, "I don't know. I haven't looked."

A serving platter floats through the room carried by an invisible ghost.

Lopez says to Watters, "You should take her bobbing for apples. This is the water-free version... A waterballoon is a fluid-filled projectile, which is meant to soak your victim by breaking on contact." To Jolvan, Lopez shrugs her shoulders, and suggests, "Why don't you go up together, and have a look."

Jolvan looks upstairs again,"As long as I don't getted tagged with a flash of light."

"The water free version?" Watters asks Lopez curiously. "Might have to try that out" he adds, before grinning at Channa and adding teasingly "Though I'm still going to drag ya upstairs at some point."

Weston looks towards the stairs again, "If anyone's going up there now, mind if one more is coming along?"

Channa gives Watters a weary look and just nods her head slowly. "If you insist. " she says then smiles at Lopez. "Thank you for explaining, I'll certainly look up for more details. You Terran seem to have some wonderful Hoildays. "

A severed head floats through the rooms and down the halls, groaning as it passes.

K'net-mauri shrugs at Jolvan. "It could happen." He eyes the severed head with annoyance.

Channa eyes widen a little as she sees the head and gives a little squeek. "What was that. " She says, recoiling alittle against the Ensign. "Was that a trick becuase if it was I'd like a treat please. "

A moaning howl seeps in between the floorboards, keening into a wail before fading into the ether once more.

Jolvan takes that as a challenge, straightesn his tunic, "I am going up." and climbs the steps.

Lopez points to the tree with apples hung from its limbs by string, and hops off the countertop. "If the floating head bothers you, I really wouldn't recommend the above-floors... " Lightening flashes from the hug bank of windows, and Lopez comments to Nevaren's little girl, "Candy corn?"

Weston looks over at the severed head for a few moments. "You know, that reminds me of a song," he comments, before he moves over to the stairs, following after Jolvan up there.

Jolvan heads up to the second floor.

Jolvan has left.

K'net-mauri shrugs absently and heads up.

K'net-mauri heads up to the second floor.

K'net-mauri has left.

Weston heads up to the second floor.

Weston has left.

Watters laughs a little bit. "It's just a holodeck program Channa, relax" Watters tells her with a little grin. "And just a quick look upstairs?" he asks her, smiling a little bit. "I promise we'll head back down if ya get too scared"

Channa looks between Lopez and Andrew before finally nodding her head. "Thank you again, for doing this I'll see you in a few minutes do doublt. " She says, then takes a tighter grip of the Ensigns arm and a deep breath. "Well lets head on up then. "

Nabrun has arrived.

Nabrun steps in, finally, twitching a few last-minute adjustments to her costume.

Revere comes downstairs.

Revere has arrived.

Lopez waves to those departing up the stairs to her own, private version of a nightmare. She is with Sitka, Lieutenant Nevaren's little girl, snacking on little foods.

Channa waves again to Lopez before heading on up the stairs.

"On we go, then" Watters tells Channa with a little grin, before going to head on up the stairs and onto the scary part of this evening's exciting adventure.

Channa heads up to the second floor.

Channa has left.

Watters heads up to the second floor.

Watters has left.

Revere reappears from up above, frowning as he makes his way toward the exit.

Lopez says, "No fun?"

Nabrun glances over, lightly tugging on her costume. "Evening," she calls to Revere and Lopez. Yes, the counselor looks slightly out of place.

McKenna has arrived.

Wisps of smoke curl up from the floor, twining around ankles with the same loving care as a hungry cat.

Crayn has arrived.

Goodwin comes downstairs.

Goodwin has arrived.

Goodwin is slipping for the exit, looking like for all the world he's late for some very important meeting. Or perhaps just exhausted. It has been a long week for the Goodwin-Balin Station Commander. REPORTS: Comments added to report 51 by Matheson.

Revere shrugs as he heads out. "Duty calls," he replies simply, although maybe his heart isn't in the excuse.

Revere goes home.

Revere has left.

Lopez watches yet another party guest head for the exit, and shakes her head. "Barana," she calls, and motions toward herself. "You made it, toga-girl. Your hubby is upstairs protecting counselor Adansae."

Nabrun tilts her head to the side and chuckles quietly. "Evening, Commander," she calls to Goodwin, then grins at McKenna. "Evening, James. Everything looks -lovely-, Ana. You've outdone yourself, again." Over to Ms. Lopez the Counselor goes.

Crayn makes his way quietly, almost gingerly.. He really... doesn't like these kinds of gatherings, but did not wish to be some 'spoil sport'. He looks around, getting a glimpse of the faces, or masqueraded faces, of those gathered.

Goodwin pauses for just a moment. Points at Nabrun. "We need to talk, soon," he tells her a small sort of smile on his lips, but it's a sad one. "But I don't want to ruin your Halloween, and I'm down-shift tomorrow. But soon."

McKenna wanders in, just behind Nabrun, whistling cheerfully. He dodges those on their way out, nodding to them. "I come ready to bob for apples and scream at the mummies. Ana, you look positively immoral. I love it."

. o O Goodwin keeps thinking of three Shuliae, dampening his otherwise good spirits.

. o O Watters thinks, "Chicken..."

. o O Jolvan thinks, "Oh well."

Lopez strikes a pose for the compliment with a laugh, and greets the familiar faces. "Thank you, thank you... do I get chocolate for my pains? Apples are on the tree over there Mr. McKenna... but take a friend if you go upstairs. We know how fragile you are." She waves a hand to Crayn, questioningly, ans gestures to the punch.. ie, a non-verbal 'want some?'. She says to Barana, "I'm a little worried actually.. they go up there, and either don't come down or come down and go home..."

A serving platter floats through the room carried by an invisible ghost.

Nabrun laughs quietly and gently bumps a hip against Ana's. "Shall I go up and see who or what I can roust? Are you interested in accompanying me?" Crayn gets a smile from the Greek-clad woman and a dip of her head.

McKenna sighs mournfully. "Fragile, huh. Tay's been talking again. I promise I don't break. And I might have chocolate around here somewhere, if you know the magic words. Barana, you look elegant. If you care to, you can protect me until we get up there." He grins, wryly. "Or throw me to the wolves."

Goodwin goes home.

Goodwin has left.

Crayn nods to Lopez. "Thank you, Lieutenant." He pours himself a cup. "Might I say that you do look rather... exquisite, tonight." He blushes slightly.

Lopez says, "I promised Lieutenant Nevaren I'd watch his daughter for him. But you can both go on up and take a look?" To Crayn, Ana laughs, "Thank you. I only get to do this once a year so... Its not a bad way to pass between one age and another."

Nabrun flashes a grin at James, then eyes Ana. "You'll get to come up soon enough," she tells the other woman. "For now, though, I'm off in search of Alek." And off she goes, quick like a bunny.

Nabrun heads up to the second floor.

Nabrun has left.

McKenna tosses Ana a bright, offhanded salute. "I'll save you some punch and chocolate." And he wanders up as well.

McKenna heads up to the second floor.

McKenna has left.

Green has arrived.

Green heads up to the second floor.

Green has left.

A shadow suddenly appears behind you, long arm-like shadows blotting out the light.

Crayn blinks at the shadow, then nods at Lopez's comment. "In a way you can still fight to be young." he smirks, looking down at himself.. "While I.... re-use a costume from... either last year, or the year before." He smirks.. "Obviously I don't go out much."

Lopez shoos the shadowy thing off with a haphazard waving. Like getting the cat off the sofa. "Doesn't matter what you wear, so long as you come. You're not going up to see the scary pary?"

Crayn nods. "oh, I will. I just didn't think it was wise to leave you here by yourself." He shrugs and heads up the stairs. "I'll... be back. I'm not much one for the crowds."

. o O Crayn thinks, "Why oh why must Fate tempt me so."

Crayn heads up to the second floor. (New BB message (8/56) posted to 'Approvals' by Approval System: Approval of Sevaris)

Crayn has left.

The air suddenly becomes slightly thick, as if filled with the webs of large, black spiders.

. o O Green thinks, "To answer your question, Barana- Underwear?"

Takamura comes downstairs.

Takamura has arrived.

. o O Crayn is absolutely terrifed, however it's due more to the gathering of people then to the effects of the house.

Lopez dances with Sitka in a hoppy little dance out by the bandstand.

There's an eerie sensation, as if someone's watching.

Takamura comes back downstairs, looking not nearly as playful as when he went upstairs. Once back on the first floor, he makes his way over towards where the snacks are and selects some candy.

Channa comes downstairs.

Channa has arrived.

Watters comes downstairs.

Watters has arrived.

. o O Takamura feels disappointed and lacking the cheer he had only a few moments ago.

Lopez eyes the returning folks from above floors, watching also the exit. Are they going to make a break for it? "The Buccaneer returns."

And making his way down the stairs once more is the dismounted cavalryman with a succubus in tow. "Well, we had our look" Watters tells Channa with a little grin as they descend. "And now we can get back to exploring downstairs. Seems a bit less crowded down here anyway"

Channa seems to be looking a little less pale. "That's some holoprogram there Miss Lopez. " she says, sighing a little. "And yeah sure we can have a look around here maybe try some of those games and get candy?"

A flight of gore-fanged bats swoops through the room, their claws nearly snagging hair.

Takamura pops a few pieces of candy into his mouth, turning around to regard Lopez. Forcing a smile, he replies flatly, "Yes, I have." Gone is the affected accent from earlier.

Lopez says, "Well, we have bobbing for apples, we have dancing, punch, candy... What can I do for you all?"

"Well, I'd be all for punch and candy" Watters replies with a little grin to Lopez. "I'd probably be some sort of public safety hazard if I tried any dancing" he adds with a chuckle.

Crayn comes downstairs.

Crayn has arrived.

Payne comes downstairs.

Payne has arrived.

Channa grins at the mention of drinks and candy. "Chocolate?" she betazoid asks, deading towards Lopez and Takamura with an Andrew in tow of course. "Why not dance it's so romantic Andrew I'm sure your good at it. "

Lopez answers, "Help yourselves... and dancing is just... you know, leaning. Ask for a slow one, they haven't gotten to play a good slow dance all night."

Payne emerges from the stairs leading upstairs, and begins to make his way through the room, and up to the stairs. He is silent, and apparently disturbed about something.

Watters is, much as might be expected, towed along by Channa. "Don't be so sure. I haven't exactly had much reason to do alot of dancing lately... not that I ever really did much to begin with" Watters tells her.

Crayn makes his way down quietly as well.. Fear of crowds? Definately not conquered. He looks over as he notices Payne pacing around. "Something the matter, Ensign?" Yes.. there you go.. Slip into work mode.

A serving platter floats through the room carried by an invisible ghost.

Payne looks at Crayn with a raised brow, "Hrm? Oh, no, sir." Obviously a lie. Nonetheless, he continues to make his way towards the exit.

Channa watches as more people come downm stairs she frowns at Payne then look up at her partner. "I think the Lt is right love a nice slow dance would be wonderful. " She says, winking at Lopez. "So lets have some punch and candy and you can twirl me around a few times. "

Crayn nods and shrugs. He can't force the man to talk. "Alright then. Have a good night, Mr. Payne."

Lopez stops the floating tray and offers its contents to the party guests.

Takamura fetches himself a cup of punch and a small plate of munchies. The bare chested pirate then slinks off towards the window nook and out of the way.

Payne nods to Crayn, and forces a smile as he approaches Lopez, "This was wonderful, sir." As he points to the tray, asking for a tasty treat.

"I guess I'm not getting out of this one, am I?" Watters asks Channa with a smile, reaching for the tray to help himself to some refreshments. Well, if he can't get out of dancing he can at least stall for a little while.

Harris has arrived.

Takamura sits down at window nook.

Green comes downstairs.

Green has arrived.

Lopez hands the whole tray over to Payne, and takes one for herself. 'Thank you," she says.

Nabrun comes downstairs.

Nabrun has arrived.

Krylow comes downstairs.

Krylow has arrived.

McKenna comes downstairs.

McKenna has arrived.

Channa takes a drink and somes munchies herself and nods towards teh couch. "Em I think it's safe to sit on?" She says eyeing it and then shrugs as she makes her way other there.

Payne gasps, "Oh, no, sir. I wasn't offering to be a waiter." He grins, "Just need one before I am on my way." Grinning.

Channa sits down at cobwebbed couch.

. o O Takamura thinks, "This party doesn't seem as much fun as ones I've been to in the past. Though, Ana did do a good job organizing it."

McKenna eyes Green. "Burnt rye? I was thinking pumpernickel, myself."

Harris enters the program in silence, having not bothered to dress up. He pauses just inside the arch, giving the room a once-over.

Watters nods a little and goes to follow Channa over to the couch, settling himself down beside her. He sips a little from his punch, smiling his approval and commenting "This isn't bad..."

Watters sits down at cobwebbed couch.

Crayn shrugs and nods to all, heading out.

O'Rielly has arrived.

Nabrun slides downstairs with Alek, a little pale-faced. She darts a somewhat relieved glance over her shoulder at the upstairs - apparently someone was rather terrified. "I think she was babysitting the LT's daughter," the counselor tells Green, McKenna and Krylow.

Krylow comes down in time to give Crayn a departing wave, before he turns to grin to Nabrun. "I see. Well, either way, we'll rescue here," he says, before looking around for a moment. Finally his gaze settles on Lopez and he starts that way.

Solange has arrived.

Lopez grins in a fashion that suggests she knew precisely what he meant to do. "So take some for the road, Mr. Payne." For her part she and Sitka head back for the mail room, to man the punch bowl.

Into the Haunted House steps another participant for the Halloween festivities, or so it might appear. What's different about this participant, he looks suspiciously like a Vorta, with the pale skin, slicked-back hair, and violent violent eyes to match. He looks around, taking in the scenary.

A shadow suddenly appears behind you, long arm-like shadows blotting out the light.

Green's eyes twinkle. "Pumpernickel? Are you calling me seedy, James?" She blinks around at Barana. "Wait, you mean, kids? Like, children?" /Now/ she looks scared.

Channa sits at her drink also and seem pleasently surprised. "Oh this is good. " She comments, "What is it?" She asks as an after thought, she glances towards the door as more people come and go.

Crayn goes home.

Crayn has left.

Solange is a little late herself in getting to the gathering... But at least her costume is somehow appropriate. Late 1950's space invader. Vintage. To the punch-bowl she automatically heads.

. o O Lopez thinks, "Stay busy."

Payne chuckles, "Thanks anyway, sir. I," He trails off as he catches the dominion enter the room. He falls silent, and squints an eye. Staring at the costume in disgust, he shakes his head, and begins making his way out the door.

McKenna grins brightly. "I wouldn't say that, but you are a little crusty around the edges."

"Just the punch, I guess" Watters replies to Channa, before his attention is drawn to the stairs as a few more people seem to be wandering down. "Guess we might've picked the right time to come back down" he adds quietly.

Harris tugs on his jacket before heading for the refreshment table.

. o O Harris thinks, "No mingling. Just get in, wave the flag, and get the hell out of here."

Nabrun grins and heads toward Ana, though reaches out as she sees Harris, a hand going in his direction. "Evening, Rob," she calls brightly. "And yes, Tay. A child. A small human, er, being. They're rather cute.

. o O Payne feels Anger

Krylow shakes his head a little. "Only a little crusty, James? I'd say she's quite crusty," he says with a grin towards Green. He turns back towards Lopez. "Ana, how are things down here?"

. o O Payne thinks, "Of all the things to come to a party as.."

Channa nods her head as her eyes fall on the Vorta male, she blinks and then shakes her head. "That was brave. " She mutters to Andrew. "But very scary if that's his affect. " She sips her drink a little more felling content and enjoying this little holiday.

Solange gets her punch, and wanders over towards Nabrun, even as she eyes the Vorta costume. Yep. /Definately/ spooky. As if to 'block' the view of it, she pulls down the visor of her helmet.

"Any way you slice it, that's only because I loaf too much," Tay tells Krylow and James primly. "And I'll have to take your word for that one, Bara-" Pause, when she spots the Vorta costume, and her brow furrows.

. o O Solange thinks, "Spooks the hell out of me... I love halloween."

. o O Green thinks, "What idiot is under that makeup?"

The Vorta glances around and notices a shadow behind him. He's kinda curious about it, but he just shrugs it off and heads over to someone he does recognize through the costumes easily. When he reaches Barana, he smiles and says, "Well, well, well. So this is what Solids do for entertainment." The voice not quite betraying its true owner, but almost. Of course, the telltale smirk is there that most would certainly recognize.

"Rob," comments Lopez, surprised by these latest two guests and pushes a cup of punch across the table. She sits Sitka up on the counter next to her, and turns the bare spots on all the trays. She just waves to Alek, Tay, Mckenna, and Nabrun... no words to describe it. "I think I might turn in, soon," she comments.

Payne makes his way to the Vorta, and taps him on the shoulder, "Just make sure you take that off when you leave, hmm? I wouldn't want to get you confused with such filth in the corridor."

"Yeah, that's... a heck of a costume, anyway" Watters agrees with Channa, not quite sure what else there is to say about that. He goes quiet again, taking another little bite from his refreshments.

Lopez says from her place, "Easy gentlemen. Its a party."

McKenna winces at Tay. "Oh, the puns, they're horrible. Wheat-ever shall I do about them?" He then eyes the Vorta. "Some people have too much time on their hands," he says dryly. "I was going to dress as a -Horta-, myself."

Nabrun just blinks at the Vorta for a long moment, caught between greeting Solange, talking to Rob, going to Ana and gaping. Gaping wins. It takes a few seconds before the smirk processes and then Barana's laughing quietly. "My dear," she tells the Vorta, still holding Alek's arm, of course, "I think you outdid just about everyone here. That is...a daring costume. Very daring. I wouldn't walk the halls in it."

Green's eyes narrow at the 'Vorta', then she shakes her head and firmly turns to McKenna. "But, let me guess- you were caught between a rock and a hard place."

Nevaren comes downstairs.

Nevaren has arrived.

. o O Green thinks, "O'Rielly. I should have known."

"Counselor, Lieutenant Lopez," Harris replies as he collects his punch.

A moaning howl seeps in between the floorboards, keening into a wail before fading into the ether once more.

Krylow spots the Vorta and chuckles a little, before he slips from Nabrun's arm and moves to the refreshment area to lend a hand to Lopez. He gives Solange a smile ing passing, and breezes by Harris to slip in beside Lopez. "The punch is really good Ana," he comments, as he helps fill trays.

Channa glances over towards Payne and O'Rielly and says softly. "It's all in good fun Ensign please, don't fuss. " The diplomat says softly. "I'm sure it's only a joke and he's making fun of them and nothing else. " She then turns back to Watters. "It certainly is. "

. o O Harris is thrilled with a capital T. Really.

McKenna nods sagely. "Granite, I still could have whipped up something, but I didn't want to be attacked by pigeons."

Kran'dok has arrived.

O'Rielly smirks, puts up a finger signaling wait a moment to the Counselor and looks to Payne. The beauty part of both the heavy makeup and training he's had.. he can say with a very calm face to the Ensign, "Whatever do you mean?"

Solange scuffs a foot idly, now, as she turns to Nabrun,"Sir...s..." And then she jumps a little, at the rattling floorboards, before she returns Krylow's smile. She rests a hand on her fake zap-ray, and smirks,"How has it been so far?"

Jolvan comes downstairs.

Jolvan has arrived.

"Anyways..." Watters says with a little shake of his head, apparently not wanting to spend too much longer discussing someone's costume. "Still intent on making me dance?" he asks Channa with a little smile.

Green blinks. "Pigeons?" The reference goes over her head, as she points James after Krylow.

Payne winces, "Its never 'fun' to look at a dominion minion," He says to nobody in particular, "Costume or no, I hate them." He begins to mumble something as he looks to the exit, contemplating something.

K'net-mauri comes downstairs.

K'net-mauri has arrived.

Lopez smiles. "Never mind the drinks... How was it upstairs, Alek?"

Weston comes downstairs.

Weston has arrived.

McKenna nods sagely. "Pigeons," he neglects to elaborate, as he heads in the direction of the drinks, as indicated.

Channa eyes widen in pleasure as Watters mentions a dance. "Oh gosh that would be lovely. " she jumps up from her seat places down the drink and grabs his hand before he changes his mind.

Kran'dok walks hesitantly through the doors and takes a few moments to look around. The crowd is quite impressive and he steps to the side of the door, looking for a safe spot. The Romulan seems to be dressed in a very old uniform that must have seen better days. His face is even covered in burns and scars. He takes a deep breath and stands tall, the very image of the perfect Romulan officer as he makes his way into the crowded room.

O'Rielly turns back to Barana now, "Anyway... I thank you Barana. I figured that since I'll never need to actually play one of these now due to my sudden profession change, I might as well use it up." He stays in the character voice that he has chosen, for the most part leaving the aura around his costume just a bit 'spooky'

K'net-mauri lifts a brow at Kran'dok.

Nabrun watches Alek go then looks toward the Vorta for a moment. She seems a touch, well, lost? That would be close. "No pigeons, James. Please. Someone might consider..." Her voice trails off as she grins, suddenly, at O'Rielly. "That's probably a good thing," she murmurs, arms folding over her chest. She's either cold or a little spooked.

Watters really should change his mind... perhaps for a better functioning model. As it is, however, he's helped up off the couch before he has a chance to reconsider. "I suppose I got myself into this" he mumbles, though it's at least delivered in a good-natured tone.

"A success, if I do say so," replies the engineer, grinning to Ana. "Barana, Tay, James, did any of you want any snacks?" he asks, before looking back to Lopez. "People were poking in the rooms and checking out the surprises. Quite fun."

Harris makes a hmph sort of noise as he turns away from the refreshment table, wandering toward an empty corner to perch in.

Lopez tells the group nearest her, "I need to step out for some air-- can you watch Lieutenant Nevarens little fairy here for me?

Payne takes a deep breathe, and finishes his stroll towards the exit. He steps through, making his way into the Dream Factory.

Green hmmms, moving to follow McKenna. "If pigeons are a concern, perhaps we should babysit Trouble more often. Most definitely, Alek," she adds.

Payne goes home.

Payne has left.

Kran'dok slowly makes his way over to the Ambassador. "Jolan'tru sir," he says stiffly, making a perfect salute. "Subcommander Trel'Karsus at your service," he adds with the slightest of grins breaking across his cooly calm face.

Jolvan comes down the steps, gazing at the new arrival's costumes before wedging his way throught the crowd to Kran'dok,"Crew of the Nhorazz?"

McKenna grins. "I'm all for snacks. As long as they're bad for me, naturally. And sure, let's have Trouble and Monster in the same room at the same time. That's always good for a laugh."

Channa drags the Ensign to the dance floor she leaves him there for a few minutes asking the band to play something slow before coming back. She slips her arms around his waist and rest her head against him perfectly content to get her dance.

Weston makes his way down the stairs, and looks around for a few moments, shrugging a little to himself, as he seems to get some kind of an idea. "Next year," he mutters to himself, before he looks around the room a bit carefully, moving to stop somewhere he's slightly out of the way.

. o O Harris thinks, "New resolution one: no more holidays unless they're crammed down my throat. Every day is a work day."

A moaning howl seeps in between the floorboards, keening into a wail before fading into the ether once more.

Takamura watches all the goings on from his seat near the nook. After finishing his drink and snack, he rises up and heads for the entrance in silence. When he sees the 'Vorta', he shakes his head, frowning deeply.

Channa stands and leaves cobwebbed couch.

Watters stands and leaves cobwebbed couch.

. o O Harris mentally sighs. "I won't be able to stay here very long, will I?"

O'Rielly just smiles some more. "What makes you say that?"

Watters, meanwhile, finds himself dancing with Channa, trying to concentrate on the all-important task of not stepping on her feet as he slowly moves along with her to the music.

. o O Takamura thinks, "That costume is in really poor taste."

Nabrun shakes her head at O'Rielly and grins, then turns to Solange. "Kat? Have you been formally introduced to Bristol O'Rielly? I'm leaving rank out since we're all out of uniform, some of us more than others. Bristol, this is Kat Solange. And it's a lovely party. I'm just...well, a little scared."

Channa nods her head as she silently counts the steps. "Your doing good. " She says, moving them both for now she's leading them for now until Watters feels he can take over. "What a wonder evening Andrew, thank you for bringing me, I like your Terran customs if there like this one. "

Green admits, "I'm rather scared to ask what kind of snacks are available, though."

Kran'dok's face breaks into a fond grin as he regards the Sublieutenant. "Indeed. The Subcommander was the one who sacrificed himself to plunge the ship into the line of the attackers. He put his people before himself, the very image of Romulan duty." He straightens himself again, as not to give the Subcommander the appearence of scumbing to his wounds.

McKenna suggests cheerfully, "Ferengi ears, Horta eggs, eye of bat and toe of frog, heart of Klingon and tail of dog."

Solange offers to O'rielly,"Sir. Sorry... I'm just so used to 'sirring' everyone." A pause, then, before she offers a hand to O'rielly, even as she comments,"Well... it is Halloween... it's supposed to be scary... Any ghosts yet?"

Lopez sits down at reading room.

Watters smiles back at Channa, telling her teasingly "Somehow I remember you saying something very different when we were upstairs." After all, just because he's dancing doesn't mean he's going to take a break teasing her when a chance crosses his path.

. o O Kran'dok thinks, "This costume is strangely appropriate and so very wrong all at the same time. Duty before all else is how I was raised, but it is only now that I see how wrong that can be."

Green lifts an eyebrow. "Frogs have toes?"

Takamura goes home.

Takamura has left.

Channa gives a pearl of laughter and nods her head. "But I'm down stairs now and enjoying myself greatly. " She says hugging the man towards her.

O'Rielly grins, "Nice to meet you as well Kat," he says as he shakes the offerred hand.

Jolvan looks Kran'dok up and down,"Good repilcation looks straight from the museum."

McKenna grins at Green. "Sure, haven't you ever counted frog toes to get to sleep?"

Nabrun looks between the two she's with, head tilting slightly. "Would you all care for some refreshment?" she asks Solange and O'R in a low voice.

Kran'dok nods. "Thank you sir. I see that you are still playing that holo simulation. Did you ever find a way to win?" he asks curiously as he shifts his way a little further into the room.

Krylow works up some snacks and hands some to Tay, before grabbing a couple of drinks and heading over towards Barana. "Chocolates for the ladies," he says, giving his wife and Solange a little grin. "And punch, he says, offering drinks to them and the Vorta.

Harris leans up against the wall and just watches the room.

Watters nods a little, giving Channa a gentle hug in return. "Unfortunately, I've got a duty shift in the morning" Watters tells her quietly. "So I don't think we're going to have too much more time for dancing..."

With a screech and blazing eyes, a black cat streaks across the floor and disappears into the shadows.

Green hesitates in her answer, spotting Solange. "Ah, remind me to answer that question later, James," she murmurs, reaching for the snacks. "Bless you, Alek."

Lopez goes home.

Lopez has left.

Channa nods her head understanding. "Yeah and I have an evenings of work to catch up on. " She says, stepping away. "Come out let head out. " Seh says. "It'll be calming down soon anyway. "

McKenna peers at the snacks. "Cheese puffs, hurrah! Let's get our fingers all orange and go grope someone in uniform.

O'Rielly smirks, "Seems like your husband is a step ahead of you Barana. Almost like he can read your mind," he smirks as he says this and takes the punch as well.

Jolvan looks around for a floating tray." Yes I did. I placed grating over the exhustport. left that blackarmored fellow stranded in his little fighter. ANd took the Battle station back to the capital world and forced the emperor's surrender."

"Alright" Watters replies with a little smile, offering Channa an arm to hang onto before going to make his way along towards the exit. As he makes his way out, he glances around one more time, taking one last quick glance at the program and its occupants.

Solange chuckles softly to herself and shakes her little glass of punch, though she does snatch a chocolate, lifting her visor to munch it. That done, she laughs,"Thank you, very much..." To Green, she simply offers,"Sir."

Channa slips her hand onto his arm and lets him walk her out, she glances around also noting the Romulan, her hand tighten on his arm as if she understand he reason for leaving, it would seem more then duty is calling him to leave.

GAME: Green spends a courage point.

Nabrun laughs quietly and shakes her head. "Yes, my husband is just that good," she tells O'Rielly. Ahhh, and then she's looking between Green and Solange for a long moment. Instead of speaking, she simply bites into some chocolate.

"Cadet," Green says evenly, and firmly turns back to her conversation. "Uh... Wait. /I'm/ in uniform."

Watters goes home.

Watters has left.

Kran'dok chuckles with an impish grin. "All in a days work I would say." He sees the other Romulan's eyes wander for refreshment and manages to locate some for himself. The guard is still standing at the door and spares a cool look for the Ensign as he and the Betazoid leave. He says nothing, but watches until they pass through the doors

K'net-mauri stands there and watches the room rather quietly. After a time he says, "I think I ought take my leave."

. o O Kran'dok thinks, "Good thing I did not have to deal with him today. It would be a shame to ruin everything on his account, but it would feel so good right about now. Maybe I should go after and.... No. Stay here. Things will get better one day."

Channa follows quietly after the Ensign the cold look boreing into them.

Channa goes home.

Channa has left.

Jolvan nods, to the ambassador,"The devil still remains loose, sir." he smiles," Jolon'tru."

Nevaren finaally reapears coming down the stairs.. Seem SOMEONE got lost in the maze of rooms up there. Our albino Zorro pants as he is almost running, looking wild eyes around the room. he grabs a partygoer by the shoulders. "Tell me. Have you seen a green fairy.. about waist high and probably vibrating on a sugar high?" he asks.

O'Rielly smirks to Green, "A very authentic costume too Tay. Circa 2378 Starfleet uniform?" He takes a sip of his drink.

"Oh, I am certain you young gentlemen shall catch it," says K'net-mauri. "Or be killed by it, however the game goes."

McKenna blinks at Green, then grins devilishly. "I just noticed that, yes. I suppose that makes things even easier. No need to find another victim. Though I just want to leave orange fingerprints on someone's spotless uniform for the amusement value."

Krylow glances to the Solange and Green exchange, but then turns back to the Vorta. "I'm just well practicied," he quips, with a little grin.

Kran'dok seems a bit confused by the Sublieutenant's reference, but lets it pass. "Jolan'tru sir. It was good to see you out. I will see you in the morning."

K'net-mauri nods solemnly.

A serving platter floats through the room carried by an invisible ghost.

Nabrun smiles a touch at Solange and O'Rielly, falling silent as she nibbles at the chocolate. Her eyes dart toward the door several times.

Solange relaxes a little once Green turns away, and then looks back to Nabrun, chuckling softly,"Hm... Now if only he could teach Parsely to fetch me chocolate..." A laugh follows then.

O'Rielly turns to Krylow in response, and in his impersonation of a real Vorta, "You shall serve us well then when the Founders finally bring order to this chaotic quadrant."

Green glances toward O'Rielly's smirking face, unamused, for a long moment that just /screams/ 'as opposed to babbling idiot?', then returns her gaze to McKenna. "Depends on just where on the uniform those fingerprints would be."

Krylow turns to the Vorta, chcukling softly and shaking his head.

Harris groans, then takes a sip from his punch.

Jolvan notices Nevarens frantic actions from across the room and walks ove to him not sure if it part of the festivities or not," Something wrong Lieutenent?"

K'net-mauri steps out of the arch, unhurried.

K'net-mauri goes home.

K'net-mauri has left.

Nevaren spots Jolvan and smiles a bit. "Just looking for my Daughter." he remarks, trying to sound non chalant. "I got lost in the maze upstairs and every minute I don't see her is probably another minute she consumes yet even more sugar." he shudders at the thought.

McKenna blinks innocently at Green. "Let's just say, reputations might be on the line."

Nabrun grins at Solange and shakes her head. "He specializes in small surprises to show he loves me," she murmurs quietly. "Unfortunately, it's time for me to slip away from the party. I have an early shift tomorrow."

Weston looks around for a few moments, from where he's been standing, and smiles a little as he watches the happenings.

Kran'dok looks around before turning his attention back to the other Romulan just in time to see him head towards the cief engineer. The Uhlan follows closely behind, now interested in what this siumation seems to have to offer. Devils and faeries may be just the start. He can not help but grin as he remembers the little girl and imagines he running around the maze.

Krylow frowns a little, turning to Nabrun. "And here I was hoping we'd be the last at the party again. I really must speak with Doctor Park. Maybe I will take Tay along to coerce him," he says, grinning.

Green wags a chocolatey finger at McKenna. "Don't you dare, or I'll be evil and hide your PADDs."

McKenna laughs at Green. "You'll never find all my PADDs. I have caches in places you'd never dream of."

Jolvan glaces up the stairs,"Did she go up there? It is prety crowd down here she is probaly in a corner feasting on candy."

O'Rielly frowns when Nabrun announces her leaving. "That's too bad Barana. It's been a while since I'd seen you around here.

Nevaren shakes his head. "No, I think she is around here somewhere. But I don't know where." he admits as he starts looking around again. "Maybe she' hiding under a table or something."

Harris continues nursing his punch in silence.

Solange lets out a soft 'aaah' then, before she inclines her head and laughs,"Always when the fun is really 'bouncing'. Well then... away with you. Sleep well." That said, though, she peers towards the searching Nevaren... Disaster on its way in the form of sugar?

Kran'dok begins to search almost as if the place is a crime scene. "Well she can not have gone too far. It is crowded here, but this is only a holodeck," he says with a grin, finding the search to be a good way to view the program and keep his mind off the crowd.

A moaning howl seeps in between the floorboards, keening into a wail before fading into the ether once more.

O'Rielly looks around some more. "What's with those shadow things anyway?"

Nabrun dips her head to Solange and O'Rielly and moves to kiss Alek's cheek. "Good night!" she calls to Tay and James, raising a hand. A smile is extended to the rest of the room before she starts for the door.

Nevaren looks under refreshment tables, tall chairs... anywhere a young child would hide at a party to watch others. He offers apologies and excuse me to a few officers then stops... he bends down and picks up.. a bonbon wrapper. He looks over and see's another... and another.. slowly he starts weaving around the room, folling the trail of breadcrumbs.. er.. wrappers.. each one for an even more sugar laden treat then the one before.

Green quirks an eyebrow. Bemusedly, Green whispers to McKenna, "I'll bribe your NCOs to glue them to the Operations Office ceiling." She sends a cheerful wave after Barana.

McKenna waves at Nabrun. "Sleep well, be good." He snickers at Green. "That would be disturbingly funny."

Walters has arrived.

Krylow smiles softly to Nabrun as she moves to leave, and he watches her go before finally looking around a little. "Well, that's just not fun."

Jolvan let's Nev continue his search, turning back to Kran,"How have you been, Uhlan? Everything alright?"

Walters pauses as the doors open, a jangle coming from his spurs moments later as he enters the party. Besides his combadge he is in a rather accurate costume, as he calls out with a very strong accent, "Howdy y'all!"

Nabrun is on her way out as Walters arrives, but she pauses to admire the costume, smile tipping her lips upward.

Nevaren finally ends the trail at a white sheet covered victorian chair. He hmmms to himself and squarts down on his haunches and lifts the sheet to find... a red haired little fairy in a green dress, her wings all bent, half curled up beneath the chair, asleep and isly sucking on a jumja stick. The engineer sighs with releif and shakes his head, surpressing a chuckle.

"Funny? I thought it'd be evil." Tay fakes a pout, then she looks around in surprise to spot the cowboy. "Hmmm. I knew I should have worn my hat."

Kran'dok can not seem to find the little girl anywhere. He decides to give up for now as the Sublieutenant strikes up a conversation. It is only a holodeck after all. The question is a bit rough for him and he hesitates before answering, not standing quite as tall as he was a few moments ago. "I am well enough Sublieutenant," he says, still trying to keep up his character.

Harris finishes off his punch, then heads out without any sound.

Harris goes home.

Harris has left.

McKenna chuckles. "The hat is evil," he declares.

O'Rielly just looks around now, trying to decide what he should do, especially looking like a Vorta.

The dead branches from a small tree scrape against the window.

Walters doffs his hat to Nevaren and says "Evenin' Ma'am. Ah was tol' there was a party down here an' thet everyone was invited. Bein' new 'round here I thought it might be bes' to get to know folks a bit, iffen you know what Ah mean."

Nabrun blinks at Walters owlishly for a moment, the smile giving way to confusion - at least until she parses all that. Then there's a chuckle. "You've come to the right place, then," she tells him, then slips out the door. "Have fun!" is called over her shoulder.

Nabrun goes home.

Nabrun has left.

Nevaren has the little imp.. er.. fairy all wrappedup in his black cape and cradeling her on his shoulder. The Jumja syick is promptly disposed of and the sleeping littlegirl seems content chewing abently on one ofthe tassleballs hanging off the brin of his Zorro Costume's hat. Since the little one has crashed from excess sugar, she won't be waking soon. So he can mingle for a while. And besides, cute sleeping little fairies on one's shoulderalways get the chicks.

Jolvan just nods solemnly at Kran a bit knowingly too,"Thats good to hear."

Staying a bit off to the side, Weston seems to be lost in thought, for a little while, before he begins humming, and then singing, very softly, meant only for himself, although the people nearby probably can hear it. "A straw headed woman, and a barrel chested man. A pocket full of posies, with a hat brim full of sand. Ooooh, waiting for the train that never comes..." And he continues singing quietly.

Kran'dok arches an eyebrow, but says nothing on that to the Romulan. "What about you? I assume it is too early to have heard anything back yet on the promotion. Is there any other news?" He catches a glimpse of Nevaren and daughter across the room, grinning weakly as he sees them together.

Green ahas. "Good, I still have some evil nature in me then. For a minute there I was afraid I lost it in the cobwebs or something."

Walters smiles as the woman departs, then moves his hat back atop his head as he considers those near first. Then he looks to the stairs, apparently deciding to investigate there next as he heads for the stairs up with open curiosity.

Walters heads up to the second floor.

Walters has left.

O'Rielly steps away, also choosing to look at the second floor

O'Rielly heads up to the second floor.

O'Rielly has left.

McKenna grins at Green and pats her shoulder reassuringly. "You're plenty evil, don't worry."

A flight of gore-fanged bats swoops through the room, their claws nearly snagging hair.

Jolvan shakes his head," No. I did get a message from one of my old commanders, He is still trying to get me reassigned to him."

Krylow shrugs a little as his conversation fades away, and he meanders over to the rocking chairs to take a seat. Half propping a leg up he watches the room while sipping his punch.

O'Rielly comes downstairs.

O'Rielly has arrived.

Krylow sits down at creaky rocking chairs.

Nevaren Walks along one of the refreshment tables, picking up glass of punch in his free hand then sipping it as he rocks/bounces the sleeping demi-fae on his shoulder.

Green nods firmly. "Always glad to hear that." Taking a sip of her punch, she glances around. "Long day at work. My feet need a rest."

Walters comes downstairs.

Walters has arrived.

McKenna awws. "Had enough partying, eh?"

O'Rielly decides when he comes down the stairs that he too is tired and starts to head out.

Kran'dok grins with a little more zeal. "Congradulations. Even if nothing comes of it just yet, it means much to have the faith of one's CO. There is still much time for you to work with that." His attention drifts down to some of the snacks that he had picked up earlier from a floating tray. Hesitantly the Romulan picks at the selection, sniffing and examining before putting anything into his mouth.

O'Rielly goes home.

O'Rielly has left.

Green hmmms? She shakes her head. "I'd just like to sit down at the moment," she says ruefully.

McKenna hmmms. "I think we can oblige you. Ask nice, and you might get a footrub out of it."

Walters returns fairly soon after, the jangle of his boots announcing his presence even before he comes down the stairs. He then moves towards McKenna, a wide grin splitting across his face as he looks at the man and chuckles. "Ah was told thet this 'ere party was for those who were un-us-ually dressed. Glad to see Ah didn' choose something wrong. Tha's quite an outfit you have there, stranger."

Jolvan returns the grin,"Thank you." he looks around the room one last time then to the door of the hotel,"Enjoy the party Kran. It is getting late for me. Jolon 'tru."

Kran'dok nods to the other man and makes to follow suit. "Yes, it is quite late for me as well. I still need to be up early tomorrow. Seems like I missed most of the fun anyways." He does not even bother to look around as he heads directly for the door.

Jolvan goes home.

Jolvan has left.

Kran'dok goes home.

Kran'dok has left.

A flight of gore-fanged bats swoops through the room, their claws nearly snagging hair.

Green peers at McKenna. "Ni-i-i-i-ce? What is this word?" But she's amused, as she moves toward Krylow to grab a seat. An amiable nod is given the cowboy as she passes.

Green sits down at creaky rocking chairs.

McKenna sits down at creaky rocking chairs.

McKenna drapes in a chair also and grins. "I think you might have tried it once."

At his place, Krylow grins to the other two as they sit. "Well, hello again. How are you doing?"

Green moves her chair a little so she can lean sideways against McKenna, dropping into quiet conversation.

After a while, the 007-dressed Weston also heads out, moving to head home as well.

Weston goes home.

Weston has left.

At his place, McKenna waves a hand. "About the same as always. Young, foolish, overworked, madly in love."

At her place, Green blushes lightly at James' answer. "Indeed. And you looked lonely over here, Alek."

Walters looks at the bats, hand going to his six shooters, though he doesn't actually do anything like draw. Seeing that none of the others react he relaxes, and moves to the last rocking chair. "Is this seat taken?"

At his place, Krylow shrugs a little at that. "Just enjoying the party, that's all. Its a nice little break, actually."

Krylow looks up to Walters and then shakes his head. "No, I don't think so. We're just chatting a little."

At his place, McKenna nods. "Everyone loves a good party. Pity O'Reilly had to dress up as an idiot."

With a screech and blazing eyes, a black cat streaks across the floor and disappears into the shadows.

At her place, Green says dryly, "Dress up?"

At his place, McKenna hmms. "Dress down, perhaps."

Green glances up, and gestures toward the remaining chair. "Grab a seat, pardner."

At his place, Krylow shrugs a little at that. "I didn't think it was that bad, and really, I probably should be one of the most upset."

Walters says, "Fair enough, Pilgrim." He thenlooks to Green and doffs his hat. "And thank you very much, ma'am. M'name's Stephen Walters, an' it's good to meet you." He then moves to sit in the chair. "Jes' arrived yesterday, so Ah thought Ah should get to know a few peoples hereabouts."

Walters sits down at creaky rocking chairs.

Walters sits down at creaky rocking chairs.

A flight of gore-fanged bats swoops through the room, their claws nearly snagging hair.

McKenna grins and nods to Walters. "Ensign James McKenna. I'm the station Quartermaster."

Green gives a little wave with her fingers. "Lieutenant j.g. Taylor Green, SDO. What department are you in..." she trails off, unsure of Walters' rank.

Krylow chimes in as well. "Lieutenan jaygee Alek Krylow, Vehicle Maintenance, Engineering," he says, nodding to Walters.

Walters chuckles. "So Ah go to you iffen Ah want to rustle up some swim trunks, eh?" He then looks to Green as a bit of his accent fades, though not all of it. "Ensign Walters, your new structural Engineer once Ah finish reporting in. Sorry, Ah thought the point was to be in period."

McKenna chuckles wryly. "I can scrounge up just about anything you need, and a few things you don't."

Green shakes her head. "Sorry, I just like to know what to call people. Feel free to be in period all you like, Ensign."

Through the cracked glass of the windows, lightning flashes and lights up the single, dead tree on the horizon.

Walters looks to McKenna and smiles. He seems to leave most of the accent behind as he asks, "Working six shooters with bullets? These are just stage props, ah course." He also nods to Green and says, "Ah understand fully, Lieutenant, 'specially how you can't have properly met me jus' yet."

Krylow smiles a little to Walters. "Another engineer, eh? Good to see you aboard Ensign," he says from his seat.

A piercing shriek suddenly rends the air, fading to a low moan before dying away.

McKenna yawns. "I'm afraid I need to get some sleep. With my teddy bear to protect me."

Green drinks down her punch and sets the cup aside, offering her hand to McKenna as she rises. "Roar."

Walters chuckles at that as he looks over Green then smiles. "Ah suppose nothin' kills a party faster then two engineers jawin' away. Sleep well, both of you."

As the hour grows late the halloween party finally winds down and the last revelers wanders out of the haunted house. The holoprogram fades from view as the camera cuts out.
