The high mountains of Bak'TUR are sparsely covered with various vegetation, namely coniferous trees and low scrub bushes, not to mention rocky crags and spires. It's forbidding and hostile -- which means it's just the way the Klingons like it.
It's into this environment that the small team of warriors beam in, released from the red beam of a Klingon transporter. Their objective in the middle of the overall wargame is simple -- there's a Dominion POW camp on the far side of the mountain, filled with Allied prisoners, and its their job to liberate them -- or die in the process.
Each warrior has been outfitted with gear for the games -- a sensor array clipped to some part of the uniform on the front or side, between neck and thigh, that will judge how they've been hit, if they do get hit. All sidearms in use have been examined prior to the wargame such that their medium and heavy stun settings are shifted to a harmonic that activates a target's sensor, instead, while the thermal and killing settings remain in case they run into nasty animals. Non-lethal hand-to-hand combat is permitted, and the Klingons (after a bit of grumbling) have agreed to keep their knives on their belts and out of hand.
K'lorn grunts as the temperate climate begins to seep in and reaches down to check his weapons while scanning the horizon for the path to the prison camp. He looks back to the others in his party, examining each one in turn as if seeing them for the first time. "We go that way.." K'lorn points to a mountain to the northwest. "We succeed or we die in the trying! Qapla!"
Kre'Leth checks over the weapon he has been issued, before looking up to his CO and saluting, "Quapla!" and looks over towards the mountains that have been pointed to, before looking around at the rest of the party members.
"Qapla!" G'Retal answers with a jab of his curled up fist against his armored chest. A quick check of his weapons before he falls in line, cold hard gaze sent forward and behind, searching.
Kadam follows along, checking the faux demolitions equipment in his satchel as they progress. "Q'pla," he adds, almost as an afterthought, preoccupied with his sidearm and explosives.

The mountain to the northwest is not something to be traversed lightly. Numberous shale slides make the footing trecherous, and there are places that look to require climbing up slopes which are biased toward the extreme end of vertical and with very few footholds. Toward the summit, the plants even give way to plain rock -- and at first glance, there doesn't look to be a way around.
"It will be a difficult climb. Not all of us may make it over. For those who do not, Sto-Vo-Kor awaits you!" K'lorn nods his ridged head to the other three and then with a roaring growl he spins on the heels of his black boots and breaks into a trot toward the high mountain.
Kre'Leth nods towards the leader and looks towards the mountain, growling. He holsters the weapon he is holding and follows behind their leader towards the mountain.
G'Retal's sharp eyes miss nothing. He grunts and points off to the northeast. "That way is a trail that the animals of this place no doubt made traveling to water, a game trail. It goes about the summit."
Kadam looks at the two trotting Klingons, and then to G'Retal, and finally to the trail. "We would do well not to waste warriors on an unnecessary climb," he agrees.
K'lorn nods as he follows Gretal's gaze to the trail. "Yes, we shall take the trail. Let us go. Run, we do not waste time!" The trot turns into a full run as the Klingon lets go of his restraint and heads for the trail.
Kre'Leth looks over to the trail being looked at by the other two, "Yes, good idea." then grumbling to himself starts running towards the trail, closely behind his leader.
G'Retal falls in behind the others as they take off at a steady clip. One hand on his weapon, he moves doggedly along.
Kadam follows along, demolitions satchel flapping against his armor with every pace of his boots. He does his level best to keep pace.

The trail is narrow, but it certainly seems that it would make the climb easier. The ground is firmly packed as K'lorn turns onto it.
Of course, the high altitude means the air is thinner, which means it's harder to breathe up here. By the time the Klingons reach the trail, they're all puffing like steam engines, save for G'Retal. Someone just earned bragging rights at the bloodwine barrel tonight.
K'lorn begins to rasp as he catches his breath and looks up the trail along the side of the mountain. He does his level best to hide that he is out of breath, but it's no use. The only consolation being he is not alone in breathlessness. He looks over at the younger Gretal and fires disruptors with his eyes. "Onward."
Kre'Leth tries to grumble, only partially succeeding owing to his breathlessnes, looking over at G'Retal, and slows down slightly, still following his leader.
G'Retal turns an eye on his fellows as they top the summit, his quick gaze noting their breathing patterns. Sure, there is a light smirk there. At least as much as a Klingon is capable off. "Your training routine needs improving!" Then yes, onward it is.
Kadam doesn't even bother to respond to G'Retal's taunts, as his breath is put to better use running. He follows along wordlessly.
The trail winds its way slowly up the hill, but seems to be moving toward the summit gradually. As they move along, the path passes into a grove of trees, and then leads on to the entrance of the cave.
It's a rather non-descript hole in the rocks, really, not worthy of further notice for the most part, save for one minor detail -- a white, fluffy fuzzball of an animal, sitting admist a pile of bones at the entrance. It's got long ears and a little tail, and fearsome long teeth at the front of its mouth.

K'lorn lifts his disruptor from his holster and steps closer to the clearing in front of the cave. "It would be dishonorable to allow such a creature to live." Raising his pistol, he aims carefully at the small white fluffy thing.
Kre'Leth nods towards the leader, unholstering his weapon and walking slowly forward and to the side, to get a better shot.
G'Retal eyes the creature and has a good laugh. "Excellent! We've not had a good sport with k'nalat in far too long!"
Kadam reaches into his satchel and withdraws a small disruption grenade. Small for a grenade, that is. He deactivates the training safety. "There may be more of them," he purports. He pulls the pin, still a staple of military explosives after all these years, and skirts around the side to roll the grenade into the cave. "Bless this, Oh Kahless, that with it I will blow our enemies to tiny bits." And then he backs off, awaiting the explosion.

The fuzzball starts screeching, rather like a tribble would as the disruptors open up. K'lorn's shot goes wide, zipping down the cave and causing a screech of something which sounds large and like that hurt. Kre'Leth's shot splashes against a tree, causing it to burst into flames. G'Retal's shot hits the k'nalat dead on, causing it to fall over -- which blocks the grenade from rolling into the cave. The explosion collapses the mouth of the tunnel, tossing stone bits here and there before there's a secondary rumble.
Further up the mountain, a shale slide gives way and starts racing toward the team. Uh oh.
K'lorn holsters his pistol as the explosion erupts and leaves in its wake the rumbling of shale from above them. Cursing in a string of Klingon, he looks from side to side for some cover to move behind.
GAME: K'lorn contests his Intellect/Perception vs Moderate and Succeeds.
Kre'Leth looks around as he hears the rumbling, looking up he sees the rock slide, cursing and crumbling to himself he looks around for some cover.
Kadam, too, tries to look for some cover, mostly because he sees everyone else doing it.
G'Retal's victorious cry of a shot well made is cut off by the badly thrown grenade. Well, isn't that just wonderful? With a growl in Kadam's direction, he holsters his weapon and goes looking for a cover spot out of the path of the shale.

K'lorn runs to a ledge over yonder to the east of the cave and jumps behind it with a Classic Kirk Roll - Klingon Style. As he makes it, he yells to all of the others, "Over here! There's a ledge for cover! Move, you petaQs!"
Kadam, having spotted the same ledge a moment earlier, has his thunder stolen before he can inform the group. This is, to be sure, not his day. But he makes for the cover of the ledge anyway, running as fast as his meaty legs can carry him.
Kre'Leth sees the leader running off and blindly follows him, breaking into a full run and leaping behind the ledge.
G'Retal finds that ledge about the time K'Lorn calls it out so he's in form to head in that direction. The fancy schmancy moves of their leader earns a raised brow but beyond that, he simply ducks down, pressing into the rock face at his back.
As the landslide rumbles past, there's a new development -- Kadam takes a phaser blast to the chest. The beam is golden in color, which identifies the sniper as a Cardassian.
As the engineer is beamed out by the automated 'death' transporter, more phaser fire splashes off the rocks.
K'lorn takes a quick peek over the edge for the source of the shot that took out his engineer. He grumbles in a low voice, keeping his volume to a growl. "Stay down. Cardassian shooter out there. Must be with the Dominion force here."
Kre'Leth swears quietly as he lands after diving under the ledge, and as he sees the engineer dissapear mutters quietly, "Damn those Cardassians.", he looks around the limited area he can see.
G'Retal watches as Kadam is beamed away and shakes his head. "You see! Better training routines." He growls and turns over, his weapon coming easily into his hand.

More phaser fire rains down, blowing small rocks apart. "Surrender, Klingons!" a smarmy Cardassian voice calls.
"See him? I caught a glimpse of something up there. To the northwest." The commanding officer looks back at his two other members. "Confirm."
Kre'Leth crawls back further to get behind the cover some more before looking up to his CO, "We need to be very careful here, I count 5 cadassians up there, and they have some kind of shuttle or some such." he points up to northwest, "Over there, possibly about 300 metres.
G'Retal nods, "Yes. Northeast. That is correct. I can not get a clear bead on that scum though."
"Surrender!" the voice calls again. "Do not throw your lives away!"
K'lorn ducks back down at the flurry of shots. "Do you think we can proceed past them without a fight, Kre'leth? We're losing time on our objective, no matter how much fun fighting Cardassians may be."
Kre'Leth shrugs, apparently looking for something in the rocks on the ground, before looking up at K'Lorn, "I don't know, it's possible. We could always try and climb the mountain."
GAME: Kre'Leth contests his Intellect/Perception vs Challenging and Fails.
The phaser fire picks up in intensity, the Cardassians apparently deciding that the Klingons aren't going to surrender.
"We climb! Back down the side of this ledge and then up past and around them. They are low priority." K'Lorn nods his head and gestures back behind Kre'Leth and G'Retal. "Back that way. Hurry!"
Kre'Leth mutters, grumbling as he didn't find what he was looking for and moves down the side of the ledge the way K'Lorn was gesturing, trying to stay covered while doing so.
G'Retal grumbles as he looks up at the pocket of Cardassians, as if thinking the odds of taking them and then shakes his head and runs along behind Kre'Leth.
The phaser fire recedes in the distance, the Klingons' skillful use of cover keeping them all protected. Eventually, they come to a point which isn't quite as steep as the main face they saw at the beginning of the mission -- but, still, it's going to be a challenging climb, with small hand and footholds.
K'lorn turns to face the rocky cliff and reaches up for a handhold, pulling himself up until he finds a foothold. "This way. Quickly." His voice kept low so as not to draw attention to themselves.
Kre'Leth carefuly steps near to the cliff, feeling around the rock face for a handhold and looking up for possible paths, nodding to the leader before begging to attempt to climb, keeping himself close to the cliff.
G'Retal waits for the other two to make room before he, as well, begins to search for nooks in the rock to facilitate climbing upwards.

The climbing begins in earnest, with Kre'Leth taking the early lead as he chooses the best terrain. K'lorn doesn't make much headway, really, unable to find any handholds that will support his weight -- and G'Retal slips off the mountain, sliding all the way back to the bottom of the incline they started up. This, of course, creates a racket, and a few moments later, the Cardassian phaserfire begins anew, splashing off the rocks around the team.
K'lorn looks up at Kre'Thel and then down at where G'Retal fell. "Go on. We'll catch up!" K'Lorn pulls out his disruptor and takes a few potshots towards the Cardassions and then pushes back from the rock face with a powerful thrust and then rides the air down to where G'Retal fell.
Kre'Leth continues climbing to get to the top, and once there, removes a climbing 'rope', and a stake to go into the ground from his sack, tying the rope to the stake while trying to stay out of the Cardiassian fire he throws the rope down once he has anchored it.

Heavy footfalls sound from further up the trail as the Cardassian troops advance on the Klingons, firing as they run. Kre'Leth, in the meantime, manages to keep out of the line of sight of the advancing Cardassians -- and, being atop the hill, can see down the valley into the POW camp below.
The camp is a simple square with guard towers at each corner. Along the north wall, with faces the moutain range, are the prisoner huts. The center of the camp has a large building that would appear to house all the prisoners for meals and such. Just of the south of the large bulding is a smaller internal wall that blocks off the buildings along the south wall. Those are the administrative buildings for the camp, and the guard shacks, as well as a heavily guarded shuttlepad. The north half of the camp is heavily enforced protecting it both internally and externally from breach or escape.
Kre'Leth drops down on his stomach and after looking down at the camp crawls back over to the cliff side with his comrades, calling down "Are you ok down there?" he then pulls out his phaser and tries to lay some covering fire down.
K'lorn nods his head slowly, checking G'Retal for injury with a cursory glance. "We are good. We'll be up soon, assuming the Cardassians let us." K'Lorn begins to stand up slowly, grasping the end of the rope above his head and then helping G'Retal up.

Kre'Leth's covering fire is fairly good, really -- he pegs one Cardassian in the chest and sends two diving for cover -- one with a graze and one missed cleanly. At any rate, the phaser fire stops for the moment.

K'lorn guides G'Retal up the rope and aims his disruptor at the Cardassians, taking a few covering shots at them. "Up! Quickly. I will follow!" Lowering himself, he takes a fighting stance and then lets those shots flare from the end of this pistol.
Kre'Leth yells out loudly towards where the Cardassians were, "Cowardly petaQs! Run while you still can!" firing a few more shots in their direction just for the hell of it, firing more shots at where they were. He then looks down and watches the others.

The remaining Cardassians are no match for the Klingons, each of them falling under the disruptor fire as G'Retal scrambles up the rope.
K'lorn climbs up after G'Retal and makes his way to the other two.
Kre'Leth helps G'Retal up as he reaches the top, before crawling back over to keep a better eye on the camp while he waits for K'lorn to finish climbing.
K'lorn makes his way of the last of the climb and flattens his body to the ground once he hits the plateau, eyeing the internment camp ahead. "This is where it become interesting. I would imagine our prisoners are at the rear part of the camp."
Kre'Leth shrugs, after listening to what his CO has to say, "It looks like the prisoners are housed in the northern section of the camp, what with all the security and heavy defenses up there."
G'Retal climbs to his feet, grumbling the whole way. And this is why the cocky shouldn't mock others. They get knocked down. He nods to Kre'Leth then straightens his shoulders as he lays on the ground. "It is where I would keep them" for what that's worth.
A few small dots move about the interior of the yard area, near the prisoner huts, and several other dots -- presumably guards -- are visible patrolling the walls. It's easily 800 meters to the camp from this position, and 300 meters down.
K'lorn waves the other two toward him and points down to the north wall of the camp. "Let's move along, down toward the north wall. If we are careful, we can make it without being spotted."
Kre'Leth looks over to where K'lorn is pointing, then thinking for a minute, "If we could get to where the Cardassians were, and we manage to dispatch the two left..We could attempt to steal their vehicle, or at least see if they have any more powerful weaponry there."
G'Retal studies the layout of the camp that he can see for along moment before his gaze shifts between the two. "Making our way to the other camp means going /down/ and back. "We have no time to waste or the war is over before it truly begins" he points out.
"We do not have time for that, Kre'Leth. We are under a time constraint and we have lost too much time already. We go for the prisoners and get out of here." And with that, K'Lorn pulls out his disruptor again and starts heading along the perimeter until he hits a downward slope and begins working his way down quietly and slowly.
Kre'Leth shrugs then nods, "As you wish." and then moves in a half crouch, following behind K'Lorn with his weapon drawn, keeping a sharp look out for things.
Up the hill, down the hill. Such is the life of a Great Klingon Warrior. G'Retal takes a slightly different track down, weapon held at the ready, eyes sharp. His other hand steadies his moves as he goes, trying to make as little noise as possible.

K'lorn works his way down the hill to the floor of the canyon and looks for a large rock or anything to use as cover.
Kre'Leth proceeds down behind K'lorn to the canyon, crawling as he starts getting very close to the floor.
G'Retal freezes where he's at. "Something -- something is not right here" he says gruffly and under his breath so that only his companions hear him. His gaze slowly and methodically moves along the surrounding terran and beyond to the camp as he tries to figure out what it is that's making the hairs on the back of his neck stand up.
GAME: G'Retal contests his Intellect/Perception vs Moderate and Fails.
The walls of the prison are patrolled by guards who don't seem to be terribly attentive at the moment, especially considering the fact that the Klingons are coming from the mountains from beyond the camp. Indeed, their attention seems to be directed inward, which is good luck for the Cardassians.
K'lorn moves down to a small wall of bushes about one hundred yards from the camp. He waits for the other two to catch up and gives the camp a close look.
Kre'Leth crawls near the bushes that K'lorn is still behind, looking over at the camp.
GAME: G'Retal contests his Planetary Tactics vs Moderate and Succeeds.
G'Retal's position doesn't change before for a moment then he slowly makes his way down. As he reaches the others he says lowly. "Note the actions of the guards. Their attentions are turned inward toward the prisoners and not outward where they should be. It is possible that there is an uprising of those held or something else that is holding their focus."
The situation on the walls doesn't change; the Cardassians keep their attention turned inward. In fact, there's sounds of cheering from inside the camp.
"Very well. We use it to our advantage to take control of the facility and win this exercise outright? We can take half of the guards before they know anyone is here with their attention focused elsewhere." K'Lorn pulls out his pistol and checks the charge, then sets it down to free his batleth and check it as well, then ties it back behind his back.
G'Retal checks his own weapons then nods. He casts a last long look over his shoulder at where they came from before looking back at his mission lead, phaser in one hand, Bat'leth in the other. "Dead is dead, not matter the path."

Disruptor fire lances out from the bushes, pegging guards left and right with bolts of energy. G'Retal's blasts even manage to hit an EPS conduit and blow a hole in the wall large enough to enter the compound.
The Cardassians, stunned, don't return fire right away -- and even so, there are no visible guards to shoot at. A rather glorious battle has begun.
"Qapla! Into the breech...quickly!" K'Lorn aims ahead of him as he takes off at a run to the hole G'retal blew in the outer wall. Sweeping the ground up and down, left and right, he looks for targets along the way.
Kre'Leth shouts, "Qapla!" standing up and breaking into a run closely behind K'Lorn, watching for targets with his phaser in one hand, rock in the other.
Did someone order the door? G'Retal's shots are given quickly and accurately. As he follows his fellows through the wall, he turns to the right to fan out behind and to the right of K'Lorn as he too sweeps the area, distuptor held at the ready.

As the Klingons charge into breach in the wall, more Cardassians fall before their disruptor blasts. G'Retal only manages to pick off one, while K'lorn and Kre'Leth claim a pair each. The yard for the prisoners looms ahead, with guards racing out to meet them.
K'lorn growls as he stabs red disruptor beams in all directions. "The battle in joined at last!" He yells as the guards from the yard turn to face them. He stops in place, lowering his profile and firing carefully at the guards that rush out to meet them.
Kre'Leth growling loudly as he finishes firing at the other guards and diving down quickly as he sees K'lorn lowering himself, due to the guards from the yard and fires in their direction.
G'Retal goes wide, fanning out more to the right as they run head long into the opposing force coming their way. With a wild shout of glee -- Yes, yes, Klingon glee, he raises his voice to join his brothers, firing at the enemy.

The Klingons and the Cardassians engage in a pitched battle for the prison yard with the POWs in the middle, energy weapon fire raining in both directions. The Klingons seem to have the upper hand for the moment, with Cardassian guards dropping under their surprise assault.
K'lorn bursts into the yard, disruptor blazing as he takes what seem to be random shots at Cardassian guards. Some fall, some do not. Noticing the POW's, he begins to angle that way and try ti get their attention. "Come together! We are here to get you out of here! Head toward the break in the wall!" When the Klingon commander stops, he offers covering fire and shoots at the largest group of guards.
Kre'Leth runs in after his leader, shouting and shooting randomly at guards as he goes, he stops near K'lorn and lays down covering fire at one of the other groups of guards, checking out the area.
G'Retal is hot on the heels of his fellows, his weapon up. It's the same with him, some beams take out guards, some do not. A glance is spared for the POW's, noting they are unarmed. "Take up the arms of those fallen and fight you way clear. Do not hesitate!"

A flash of black and gold launches out of a prisoner hut over Nabrun's head with a blood-curdling yell, slamming into one of the guards.
Yes, Lieutenant Robert Harris has arrived.
"Stick together! And stay low!" Hurley hollars as loud as she can manage over the noise. Peoples' advice seems to be coming to fruition - the words just naturally flow out of her mouth as she glances over to headcount her own charges. Eyes fall on the nearest Cardassian and her energy suddenly focuses in that direction: she's /not/ going to be the only unarmed one at this party. Her head lowers and with a warcry her grandfather would be proud of, she aims midsection, and, as it should be no surprise to anyone, the geek is thwarted and sent to the ground by the guard's backhand. Unfortunately, without the weapon.
Green glances back at Chris Hurley's yell, just in time to watch the woman get backhanded. Tay slips and slides to a halt, falling to catch herself on her hands and push back up, throwing herself toward a fallen Cardassian weapon. Pity the guard that smacked Chris, if Tay gets her hands on that...

With the entrance of the prisoners into the main fighting, all hell literally breaks loose in the yard. K'lorn and Kre'Leth are both hit are hit by stun blasts, with the former being grazed and the latter being hit head on. In return, more Cardassians fall to the ground. Green's leap for a weapon lands her just out of reach of it, and the battle continues unabated.
. o O Green thinks, "Wait a minute. This is war games. People aren't supposed to be getting hurt. Hitting Chris /can't/ be in the rules..."
Kre'Leth falls over as he gets hit by the stun, smashing his head against a badly placed rock on the ground. Hard.
K'lorn shakes off the stun blast, eyes wide for a moment as he lets loose and war cry to curdle the blood, tossing his disruptor toward the small blonde prisoner (Hurley) and rips his Bat'leth from his back. Raising it above his head, he runs directly for two of the guards. The Klingon bloodlust is in full effect now!
Bloodlust. Yes. it's what Klingons do best. "HURRY!" he shouts at the fleeters. He fires and receives it freely as the battle is on. There is no easy deaths for a Klingon and even though they have now lost Kre'Leth they triumph!
Well, apparently charging the Cardassian /did/ win her a prize! Er, weapon. Hurley rolls to her back, shakes off the backhand - the second received in her entire life, and blinks as her hand lands on a disruptor. "Wow," she murmurs to herself, raising it and aiming at the mean 'ol Cardassian who struck her, "the Prophets /do/ watch out for me." She squeezes off a shot at the guard above her, now only hoping she has better luck with the weapon than with her charge, then scampering to her feet to do another quick headcount. "To the north wall!" she shouts, "Through the hole! Through the hole!" There really isn't much time to detail more than that.

The Betazoid takes off, trying to get the Cardie who hit Hurley. Into a lovely set of moves she goes, fists flying with precision. Precision that hits absolutely nothing but air, and gets her a hand across the face for her troubles. Eyes watering, Barana hits the ground in a crouch, blinking for a moment.
GAME: Harris contests his Coordination/dexterity & Energy Weapon/phaser vs Dak'tal's Coordination/reaction & Dodge and Succeeds.
Harris strips a phaser from his opponent and uses the opportunity to drill a Cardassian. "TO THE HOLE, MOVE!" he yells over the din, adding his voice to Hurley's.
GAME: Hurley contests her Coordination/dexterity & Energy Weapon vs Dak'tal's Coordination/reaction & Dodge and Fails.
GAME: Green contests her Coordination/dexterity & Energy Weapon/phaser vs K'lorn's Coordination/reaction & Dodge and Succeeds.
Green gets her hands on that elusive weapon and rolls to take a knee, the weapon snapping upward. And the first thing she sees is K'lorn going hell bent after Cardassians with a rather wicked-looking weapon. Allied Cardassians. Oh hell. A second to aim, and she pulls the trigger on her stolen phaser, sending a streak of light straight toward the Klingon. Bull's-eye. Except... oh, that's right... the weapons are modified... aren't they?
The remainder of the guards in the immediate area go down, but, then, K'lorn is shot by a friendly teammate. Various fistfights end, and the other POWs begin pouring for the hole in the wall that the Klingons opened -- some down and playing dead because they've been 'shot' by the guards.
And then there was one. G'Retal growls at Green and snarls, "Save your fire for the Cardassians, Qu'valth! They are your enemy in this fight, not us!" As they make their way to and through the hole he yells out, "There are two more outsides the walls, be on your guard" he yells again as he brings up the rear.
Nabrun starts for the hole, only to see the fallen Klingon. Keeping down, and hopefully under the radar, she slips in and searches for a moment before activating his emergency medical transporter tag. That accomplished, she reaches out to check Klingon vitals, keeping an eye open for trouble.
"Lieutenant Green, the enemy are the Cardassians, -not- the Klingons!" Harris calls as he turns to head deeper into the compound. "Lieutenant Hurley, collect the wounded and get out of here! Move!"
Hurley, of course, takes the 'deaths' very seriously, open frown displayed as she makes with her orders. "I saw the blade, Lieutenant," she calls to Harris, heading over to her downed 'charges' to help them up and out. "There was about to be real bloodshed." She pauses, self-doubt building, "I think." Complete eye contact avoidance from everyone, Hurley does what she can to herd those who are allowed to stand and move.
Green pretty much ignores G'Retal- she'll leave him a trail of breadcrumbs later. Harris' call makes her face darken, but she merely looks to make sure the guards are all taken care of, then she rises and jogs toward Hurley to give her a hand. And a quick, grateful look.
Dak'tal peanut gallery
The prisoners make their way toward the exit in general, some supporting those who are 'stunned' or 'dead'. Kre'Leth's transporter tag activates and he beams to the orbiting ships for medical attention. The courtyard takes on an eerie calm in the wake of the hectic fighting.
K'lorn shakes off the stun as he stands up 'awakened' and hoofs it out of complex after picking up his Bat'Leth and a stray phaser from a downed guard. The transporter tag is torn off and left on the ground as he runs after Hurley and Green, moving others along as he goes. "Hurry! Quickly!" His thoughtful eyes look over to Green in front of him as he curses loudly.
G'Retal growls out, "A Klingon that can not wield his weapon in non-lethal ways is not fit for the warriors blood that pumps through his veins. Enough talking. Move. NOW, STARFLEET! We lack time to play this game!" He herds them through the hole and along the base of the wall. "Climb" he orders as he sweeps his six, his -weapons- held out and at the ready.
The look Barana gives Harris' back once her patient has been transported out is, well, scorching. She doesn't hesitate, however, to join in the general exodus of getting the "injured" out.
. o O Hurley thinks, "I am not fit for command."
Harris doesn't notice -- he's too busy heading the other direction with his phaser in front of him.
Hurley ensures she's one of the last up and out, pushing 'injured' and 'dead' ahead of her, daring only a quick glance up towards Green, then to the Klignons nearby. Her weapon gift is tucked into her belt until she has a free hand to wield it again, thus leaving her completely at the mercy of the Klingon 'guards'.
Green notes K'lorn's look, but continues to move, assisting the injured. And ahead of Hurley, at that, since she realizes the woman's impetus. She starts to say something, then stifles herself. But lord, she's obviously steamed.
. o O Green thinks, "I hope I have a real phaser the next time I see a Klingon charging somebody with a bat'leth."
. o O Hurley thinks, "Don't worry, Tay. I'll take responsibility for your actions if it's brought to call."
As the last of the prisoners exit the breach in the wall, the tower speakers click on. "Attention, Allied Forces: it is my pleasure to announce that the victory conditions have been met at this time by the warriors of the Imperial Klingon Defense Force after liberation of 57 percent of the captives in the camp. On behalf of the United Federation of Planets, Klingon Empire, Romulan Star Empire, and the Exiliarchy of the Cardassian Union, we issue our congratulations."
At the same time, the Klingon communicators chirp. "Stand down, victors!"
GAME: K'lorn contests his Coordination/reaction & Unarmed Combat/mok'bara vs Green's Coordination/reaction & Dodge (given Disadvantage) and Fails.
K'lorn raises his hands, fists tightened around the grips of his blade as he exhults loudly, "Qapla! For Kahless and for Honor!" And after that, he tosses the phaser to the ground and slips his bat'leth into the sheath on his back. He walks through the crowd of 'escapees' and stops in front of Green. He nods to her slowly and then backhands her with all his strength, letting it hit the air in front of her face. A warning...? Or a miss? "You ignorant peTaQ! You do not shoot your rescuers! You are a dishonorable warrior and not even worth the Starfleet badge you wear! There are Orion slave girls with a better grasp of combat procedures! It is no wonder you, at least, would have ended up captured by the enemy!"
. o O Hurley thinks, "Oh HELL no."
G'Retal watches on as his brother deals with Green and rightfully so. When the announcement is made, he nods and turns, striding back into the compound and leaving K'Lorn to deal with the dishonorable female. At least the others weren't as bad. Now.. where did that other Officer get off to?
Nabrun pauses, one of the "wounded" leaning on her shoulders, and watches the Klingon and Green, head tilted just slightly.
Hurley, standing behind Green, widens her eyes at K'lorn's attempt to slap Green and tries to push herself between the human and the Klingon. "Stand down /now/," she immediately orders, eyes narrowing as she resigns herself to standing at Green's side, "or I will have you stood down. She did what she felt was best for *all the lives* in that camp - which is a Starfleet *quality*, not *flaw*. If you don't like it, you can take it up with *me* since I was in charge of those in the camp. Am I clear enough?"
. o O Nabrun thinks, "I'd really like to wipe that smug look off his face, but I'm not sure who's right, who's wrong. Which reminds me, wrong. Rob needs to realize that he's the reason Christine is having so many difficulties."
. o O Nabrun is frustrated, extremely so.
Or Tay Green is quick enough to jerk back from the hit. She does jerk, and takes a deep breath, to say calmly, "Sir, I'm a security officer. Was, anyhow. When I see lethal weapons being wielded in a non-lethal setting, I act accord-" She stops abruptly, at the second-to-last sentence of K'lorn's, and her face flushes a dark, angry red. The woman flips the modified phaser to her left hand, the right curling into a fist, which comes up... Stand down? Two very important words. Tay stiffens, then turns to stalk away from the idiot Klingon.
. o O Hurley is already feeling like a complete failure from the simulation, adding Green's predicament with the Klingon, she suddenly remembers she's still 'in charge'.
. o O Green thinks, "He should thank his lucky stars for you, Chris. I was going to rip him apart."
K'lorn reaches across to Hurley and jerks his disruptor from her belt and shoves it into his holster. "Look here, Starfleet! A true warrior of Kahless can use his sword as a lethal weapon.." He spins and then slams the flat of the blade down onto a rocks, causing it to crumble and crack, "Or not depending on what Honor dictates! It is no wonder you no longer belong to your security department if you know so little! If done again, with only fifty-one percent to save. I'll be sure to leave you to your our fate and fortune. You deserve no less for your dishonor."
G'Retal, meanwhile, is tracking the elusive Harris and where he might have gotten off too, leaving the puffs of wind to try and thunder against the broad mountain of the Empires pride.
Hurley's eyes remain narrowed and chin lifted. Then, she remembers the need for diplomacy. Slowly, she's able to visibly remove the aggression from her features, forcing a small smile to form. "If you would leave us, or any in need of your help, that would be unfortunate, but for your own honor to deal with. Lieutenant Green had a valid concern and I stand by her actions to protect everyone. She has been made aware that your blade can be used in non-violent ways, and I thank you for that lesson. I will also thank you to not try to strike one of *my* officers again." Canting her head, she adds as sweetly as can be, "If she requires striking, that is my job. Not yours. Understood?"
. o O Hurley thinks, "I think I understand why Grandfather has such... animosity towards Klingons."
Green's steps pause. She turns her head just enough to call back, "A true warrior of Kahless wouldn't have /needed/ to bring along his sword on a game like this. Compensating for a lack of something, sir?" Keeps walking.
. o O Hurley thinks, "Tay... Ugh."
So it is that the victory ends on a sour note for the winners of the wargame -- who have found one of the prickly thorns in the bush called 'Alliance'.
