Report Number: 425 Completed By: Ghorev Opened By: Dakin Department: CO Stardate: 54127.8 Dakin added on 54066.4: The following is a report of my progress in investigating the recent assault on Lt. Medes by the disguised Bajoran assassin Antos. Interview of the perpetrator in hopes of learning who sent him leaked the name 'Sirhat.' Checking of the Bajoran Central Archives led to a Prylar Sirhat Lesu, a constant companion and rumored lover of Vedek Parva, a neo-conservative vedek campaigning for separatism of bajor from the rest of civilized space. Through diplomatic inroads travelled by Lt. Idrani, I was able to procure the communications records for Sirhat, which alluded to a conversation through an intermediary to one Buq'ta Ves. Ves is a reconstructive surgeon who is currently in custody in a Starfleet penal facility for performing illegal facial reconstructions. I requested the facility's personnel to question Ves regarding his contact with Sirhat, which yielded the information that Ves had been contracted by Sirhat to do 'skinjobs' for at least seven individuals, all Bajoran and all into other species. Among the individuals Ves confessed to altering were Antos and one Klingon skinjob that matches the description of the murderer of Vedek Toralin. However, this report was prefaced by a mention by a Betazoid court reporter that Ves was lying. Further interview revealed that Ves was indeed lying, but only about his contractor. Ves alleges that he was threatened by someone he was only able to ID as "The Faithful," with whom Ves only spoke through encrypted subspace transmissions. Another search of the Central Archives led to a troubling conclusion. "The Faithful" was a name ascribed to a particular cell of the Bajoran resistance raised as surrogate children by one Londar Nai. Londar, now a Vedek, is considered an honored figure by the Bajoran people and is often referred to as the "Mother of the Revolution." A search of Ves' residence led to the most recent piece of evidence, a once-over of Ves' comm records have revealed that they have been heavily falsified, though beyond my ability to clean up. I have since turned a copy of those records to Lt. Laco, who has Lt. Shamash assigned to their decryption, and am awaiting disposition of that element of the investigation. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ghorev added on 54127.8: This investigation has apparently been completed and closed. During a recent attack on her ship, the rest of her quad was killed. She is currently under sedation until she is able to be released from the Infirmary to the care of her brother, Kotesh Endilev. I would like a counselor present when she is told of her loss. Report Number: 246 Completed By: Medes Opened By: Javits Department: FLEET Stardate: 54132.6 Javits added on 53946.6: Lieutenant Medes, would it be possible to add Birvax Waves to the stations scanning routine for internal sensors? This is in regards to an ongoing informal investigation of certain inexplicable phenomena occurring about the station. Two instances have been recorded thus far, one by Lieutenant Kepler and one by me. In both, Birvax Waves were detected. Birvax Waves, named after their Bolian discoverer, are classified as benign. When Birvax Waves intersect, however, they are known to produce sonic emissions that sound very much like voices to the ears of most humanoids. These sonic interference emissions are what led to their detection. If internal sensors can be recalibrated to detect the waves, we may be able to determine if other incidents have occurred and possible detect the source of the emissions. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Medes added on 54132.6: By order of Cmdr. Apparently, after receiving his pre-duty physical here, but before actually reporting for duty administratively, he was recalled to his old post to assist in a problem with some of his own modifications to the primary warp core of USS Valiant. His orders were lost in transit. We have the apologies and assurances of Captain Riis of Valiant that this was an oversight, and not a deliberate act of disrespect for our RFD procedures. The Ensign has been warned that in the future, the onus is upon him to ensure that notice is properly provided. He is cleared to begin duty immediately.
