Balin goes Out of Character.
Balin has left.
Donavon comes into the garden through the hedge.
Donavon has arrived.
Casya comes into the garden through the hedge.
Casya has arrived.
Idrani comes into the garden through the hedge.
Idrani has arrived.
Hurley comes into the garden through the hedge.
Hurley has arrived.
Claness comes into the garden through the hedge.
Claness has arrived.
Claness hurries into the area, blue fingers making sure his dress uniform is in place.
Nolte is ever punctual, of course, sitting to the side and, well. Working. Dillegently nose-first into her PADD.
Wasn't she here not long ago for a wedding? Donavon smiles at the memories while treading across the grass towards the gathering.
Valentine comes into the garden through the hedge.
Valentine has arrived.
Casya hurries into the Garden, doing the pregnant woman shuffle at double-time, a smile on her face at the prospect of getting to witness a wedding. After all, she was rather busy staring at her husband-to-be to notice much of anything at her own.
Torin comes into the garden through the hedge.
Torin has arrived.
Hurley enters with her typically cheerful bounciness and bright smile already adorned, though she's not terribly pleased with the dress uniform. But, not being the designer for uniforms, she has little say and copes as best she can. Which, naturally means she has to torture others and her first victim is in her sights. She turns and heads straight for Donavon.
Malloy comes into the garden through the hedge.
Malloy has arrived.
Krylow comes into the garden through the hedge.
Krylow has arrived.
Rome comes into the garden through the hedge.
Rome has arrived.
Valentine glances around as she steps into the garden, her smile pleasant and polite. After a moment, her lips purse slightly, and she moves to join the other guests.
Donavon sees not the approaching gaze--er Hurley seeking out the prey amongst the inch high grass. The officer's head tilts left and right to judge the placement of the sitting. Which side to sit at? No matter, she veers to the left and plops down close in front.
. o O Valentine thinks "Tak, you're a dead man."
Malloy enters the garden, looking around as if not quite sure of being in the right location. Dress whites, of the Starfleet variety, prove, that he has more than just his regular uniform and his team jacket/ biker boots outfit. To top it all off, he's carrying a glass of OJ in his right hand. Possibly even a screwdriver. Masseltov?
Foster comes into the garden through the hedge.
Foster has arrived.
Torin slinks his way in, doing his best not to be noticable. He absently adjusts and tugs at his collar. as he maneuvers brushing hair back as well eyes flickering around for a moment he steps towards Donavon and Hurley as he moves in and adds a light, "Hey you two." Eyes flickering around here left and right a slight wave at Tara while he's at it.
. o O Malloy thinks "So. Well. Now...where the heck are they?"
Tyler lurks around in the back of the gathering, remaining unobtrusive.
Foster arrives, arm-in-arm with Ensign Lanie. Both are fairly quiet, and move to take a place towards the rear of the gathering.
Rome wanders inside along with everyone else that's pouring in. He looks around, getting the lay of the land.
Now that she's been exposed, Hurley beams and slides into the seat next to Donavon. "Beautiful day for a wedding? Well, I suppose the days are always the same here, but if Donavon can wish the wind at my back, I can remark on the station's weather."
Krylow steps into the gardern and pauses to glance around. He absent mindedly adjusts his dress uniform, pulling the jacket down slightly. He takes a moment to look for a seat in the garden as it grows ever busier.
Casya takes a seat near the exit from the garden out onto the Mall--not because she has any intention of being the whispering person in the back of the room, but because, well, y'know, you just never know which internal organ the unborn twins are goint to kick next, and she may have to leave precipitously. She offers a soft smile toward Lanie and her husband as she glances around the garden.
Claness grins at Malloy as he arrives. "Good day to you, husband." One green eye winks. "I understand that is is bad luck to see a spouse before the ceremony. I hope you do not turn into a pumpkin at midnight. Or something awful like that." If seeing Nolte and Idrani *at* the ceremony is bad luck, Thalev doesn't comment. It seems that his special humor is reserved for Malloy and Mally only.
Donavon slides an arm around Hurley's shoulders to half hug her granddaughter. "Sure you can, dear. Moods create the..umm..station's weather." She tries to her save herself by reaching out to yank Torin to join the row. "How's Zeppy handling this? Heard he couldn't attend. I plan on saving him cake and plenty of it. So be ready." She grins and beams, then waves over to Krylow, Foster, and Lanie.
Idrani stands rather stiffly, waiting for the ceremony to begin. She gives a little smile to her mates, uncharacteristically nervous.
Takamura comes into the garden through the hedge.
Takamura has arrived.
Nolte is more or less oblivious. She continues working at her PADD, and generally keeping her head down and not paying attention to the growing crowd. Perhaps paying attention to -not- paying attention.
. o O Idrani feels nervous. Pre-wedding jitters.
Balin has arrived.
Valentine slides into the row behind Donavon, conspicuously leaving a seat open between herself and the aisle. /Somebody/ is in deep trouble if he doesn't show up to occupy it.
Malloy chuckles slightly, taking a sip from his OJ which he then positions under a bench not too far away. The glass, not the sip. "Well, you tell me. I've been so busy with Andorian customs that, frankly, I don't remember much about Earth custmos anymore. All things considered, I'm still confused. First of all, I was trying to see if it was considered bad form if I'd show up carrying an Idisha...or not...and frankly? I just grabbed my dress whites and my Type II and set off. And...for the love of god...stop calling me 'husband' unless you want me to pucker up and bat my eyelashes at you."
Balin comes walking into the Garden, dressed up in his waiter-whites. The Master of Ceremonies (or is that Disaster?) moves up to the fore of the gathering, before a table that has been placed here for this occasion. On the table is a large piece of vellum, with ornate Andorian glyphs written into it in indelible ink. Balin looks about the gathering as if he is surveying his troops. He straightens the waiter's jacket in a Picard maneuver, and looks to the blessed quad to see if they are ready to begin.
Foster nods a greeting to Lieutenant Tyler, for once pretty much sitting in the same general area that she's haunting. He flashes a quick smile at Casya in response to her smiled greeting. For once, the pilot actually doesn't look completely comfortable in his dress uniform. Lanie, on the other hand, does. Apparently her workouts with certain members of the Rapid Response Team are having a notable effect.
Starfleet goes home.
Starfleet has left.
Claness spies Balin as he arrives and offers the senior officer a broad grin. Malloy's comments make the grin grow even more as he eyes the human. "Aside from procreation, we will be mated in every sense of the word." Claness changes his grin to a warm smile. "You look very good."
Takamura steps into the Garden, quickly surveying the scene. After a few moments, he nods as he spots an empty seat on the aisle behind Donavon. Slipping into it, he winks over at Valentine.
With once last glance around, Krylow locates a vacant seat in the middle. He threads through the chairs and people to take a seat there. Once seated his eyes wander for a moment to look over the other gathered.
Takamura whispers to Valentine, "Worried I might not show up?"
Rome sidles on over toward Casya and motions to a seat next to her. "Do you mind, Mrs. Cross?" he asks, before allowing himself to sit.
Hurley nods in agreement with her dear ol' granny. "And, if you can't save Zep cake, I'm can get him some chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream with extra whipped cream and fudge. He seemed to like it last time." A grin is flashed towards Torin, accompanied by a wink and she turns to look around the gardens; her favorite thinking spot, which isn't set up for thinking today. Wistfully, she looks out the viewport, then back to the front before she fidgets with her dress uniform again.
Idrani smiles, more genuinely as the antics of Thalev and Craig dispel some of the tension.
Torin smiles and nods, "He'll survive, on the bright side, he doesn't really know what he's missing. But it'd have been too tempting for him I think with all the trees and the like." He smiles, "Oh dear, you always give him sugar, he's going to explode from energy one of these days." A slight turn in his seat he nods at Tara and smiles, "Hullo again stranger." He offers in light amusement then adding quieter to Hurley and Meg, "At least Captain Balin is /here/ or you might have seen just how much weather they can simulate you know." He snorts, "And one of you two is taking care of him after you feed him."
Valentine glances up as her favorite... workout partner slips into the seat beside her, and she gives Tak a smile, her voice dropping to a murmur. Blue eyes find Balin, looking him over in a swift appraisal.
Casya looks up at the Ambassador and smiles, shaking her head. "Make yourself comfortable, Ambassador." she answers easily, a smile on her face as she surveys the crowd.
Valentine whispers to Takamura, "A little. I hate getting dressed up in these duds for nothing. I should have known better, I suppose. Huh. So that's the captain, eh?"
Claness turns his attention towards Balin as he takes the central position. Blue hands tug just a bit at his ADF Dress-black jacket, making sure everything is in place. Thalev looks to Malloy, then sweeps his eyes over Idrani and Nolte. Silently, he moves to take his place for the ceremony. He offers Balin a respectful and deep nod, antennae twitching as he listens to the movements of his future spouses.
Donavon leans back to peer over her shoulder. "Afternoon, Tak. Glad you could make it. Care to join in a wager?" She flashes a cheshire smile at Torin and Hurley. "How long will it take to get Zeps on a sugar attack?" She laughs, shaking her head, and civilly returns to sitting and looking straight ahead. She whispers to the side at Hurley, "I remember being up there. It's...nerve wracking. I don't know how Rob survived."
The Captain clears his throat.
. o O Idrani feels Still nervous. More pre-wedding jitters.
Malloy snorts at Thalev, fighting this way the bubbling laughter down that threatens to grab hold of him. "You know...'mate'...and actually, that's a rather nice twist if you ask me, considering things....well, where was I? Maybe if you work on your blade a tad more, you have time for....ah well, to hell with the banter. Let's go."
Permission granted, Rome seats himself next to Casya. And remains quiet, since it looks like things are starting. He looks on toward the main event and watches.
Hurley whispers to Donavon, "Cherish the memories. Some of us will never stand up there."
Idrani steps up with her husbands and wife (as she doesn't have any human cultural taboo about the nomenclature). She turns her attention to Balin.
Nolte actually tears herself away from her PADD and her seclusion. She sets it all into a bag and under her bench, following along tho the front of the room.
. o O Malloy thinks "Usually there's a red alert for situations like these. The easier way out. Klaxon away. Come on.....nothing.....still nothing.....maybe it's on the AEgis only...and in space, nobody hears you scream....awwww shcucks."
. o O Nolte thinks "All these people. Dilly buggers it's like every wedding is a bloody sideshow."
Malloy takes a deep breath, then joins the trio to make it a quad.
Torin smiles, "I was telling the Doc, it's funny how people who run around into battle without batting an eye, all freak out before they're weddings. You'd think it wouldn't be that bad." He falls quiet though along with the rest of the gathering.
Donavon lightly nudges Torin, agreeing with him, before silently watching front and center. Balin has her attention.
Valentine settles back into her seat and silence, fingers laced over her lap. Prompt and studious attention, ever Tara Valentine's trademark. Right.
Takamura smiles at Valentine and offers Donavon a nod before she turns around. Then his complete attention is focused on the Captain and those to be married.
Balin clasps his hands before him. "Lt. Jaylas Idrani, as my diplomatic officer, is in charge of keeping the peace among the diplomats, and keeps them, if you'll pardon me, Ambassador Rome, out of my hair." He says this with a smile. "So when she asked me to officiate the ceremony today, how could I refuse? She has, after all, taken more metaphorical phaser hits for her Captain than any other officer on this station. So it is with pride that I am here today, enjoying one of the greatest of the Captain's privileges. These four officers are among the finest in the fleet, and the not-quite-so-fleet," he says, gesturing at Claness. "But nevertheless, they serve my command with distinction and honor, and have earned my respect and the respect of their peers. It is my honor to be here before them, and you, today."
Casya leans back in her chair, her hands folded together against the soft swell of her tummy as she listens attentively to the Captain's words. She grins slightly and glances aside at the Ambassador as the Captain mentions him.
Malloy stands ramrod-straight, which befits him, considering that he is a trooper, in a way. No nervous twitch, he keeps his cool for the time being. The Captain's words are answered with a faint smile and the barest hint of a nod, eyes twinkling with silent mirth.
Rome just half-smiles in good humor at the comment, glancing at Casya when she looks at him, then back to the five in front.
Claness clasps his hands behind his back, a mixture of pride and subtle nervousness showing on his face. His head dips slightly as Balin acknowledges his quad in general and him specifically. For a guy who has done this before, you'd think he'd have the hang of it by now. Apparently, the 'butterflies' don't disappear when you sign a contract for a second time.
Hurley dons a warm smile indicated towards the Captain while he speaks. His words, naturally, cause her gaze to travel to Idrani, settling on the woman briefly before looking to each of the .. wedding party .. in turn, then back to the Captain.
Idrani smiles a little, as the captain speaks, even relaxing somewhat now that the ceremony is underway.
Nolte presses her lips in a firm line, mostly ot fidgeting. Msotly. Her eyes wander for a while, then land sturdily on Balin's sternum.
Torin watches and listens on curiously facing forward occasionally shifting or fidgeting adjusting the dress uniform. But the majority of his attention firmly focused on the group in front.
Donavon chuckles softly at the tiny jest, but returns to silence and contemplation. Warmth fills her smile, even her eyes take on a gentle glow of memories. A hand reaches to lightly pat Hurley's, then squeeze before she starts to stroke her ring finger.
Valentine stretches slightly, her lips twitching inside her pasted-on smile. She glances slightly toward Rome before her gaze shifts back toward the wedding party.
"Without the pomp and circumstance of human weddings, and with less exposed skin than a Betazoid's, the Andorian wedding ceremony is by comparison a simple thing. The vows are written in contract, and the contract is signed by the betrothed before their friends and loved ones," Balin says. "Then afterwards, the real fun begins. So, without further ado, Thalev Claness, Craig Malloy, Femke Nolte, and Jaylas Idrani. Step forward, and proclaim your wedding to your keth, your friends, and your peers, and sign the contract."
Takamura inhales deeply, puffing his chest in pride as he watches his friends prepare to make the commitments of their lives. As the captain refers to each person, his eyes shift their gaze to admire each one. He then casts a glance over to Valentine with a smile.
. o O Valentine thinks "Oooooh! Good idea there. I want a Betazoid wedding! Wonder what Balin looks like in the buff."
Without a hint of hesitation, Thalev Claness steps forward and signs the contract with broad, bold strokes. Well, thats it. With a smile of appreciate to Balin, Thalev turns and offers each of his quad a meaningful and loving glance. With that, the big Andorian returns to his place.
. o O Malloy thinks "Oh that would have been splendid. A pompous human wedding with Betazoid dresscode, Andorian pre/post nuptials...and a Ferengi performing the ceremony. Excellent...good thing it's over soon."
Nolte manages to look Claness in the eyes for that. She offers a rather tender, and quite anxious look back straight at him, broken with a goofy smile.
Malloy clears his throat slightly, then again with a bit more gusto. Nodding to Claness, he steps forward and signs the contract as well. He's even trying to write in a readable hand, considering that he's a Doctor of the medical kind. Lingering at his last name, he finally ends the 'y' with a stroke to the left, underlining his whole name this way, then turns around. 'Here goes nothing' he mouths to the rest of 'his' quad, then winks and steps back. Two home, two bases still loaded.
Idrani smiles, watching Thalev, then Craig, sign the contract.
Casya smiles at the look on Claness's face as he signs the contract. She saw that look in a man's eyes, recently. It's a good look. Absently, her fingers begin to toy with the pair of rings on her left hand, and she glances hopefully toward the Mall. Nope, still no sign of him. Sigh.
Nolte manages to muster a broadersmile, and asks Idrani, "Shall we leave those two together in love, then, or do you suppose I ought to sign?"
Rome glances sidelong at Casya as she begins to fidget. No Cross, but hey, there's him! And he looks back to the Andorians. And humans.
Nolte spoke this mostly quietly, a gentle conversational tone even for thsoe next to her.
Idrani quirks a smile, replying to Femke in a soft voice, "We'd better not tease them anymore."
Foster watches quietly, only knowing two of the pair. Oddly enough, one of the Andorians and one of the Humans. You'd think it'd be one or the other, but that's not the case.
For her part, Kaitlyn Lanie is carefully blotting her shining eyes. Weddings, always so beautiful. Especially when you have time to prepare for them.
Claness beams a grin.
Valentine's hand creeps toward her seating companion, seeking Tak's fingers with her own. She swallows a lump in her throat, her gaze carefully forward.
Nolte steps up and signs her name, in brief and staccato strokes of Graalek, Femke Ivari.
Hurley watches the proceedings with unwavered interest. Wide-eyed and wistful, she clasps her hands on her knees with a soft, but still slightly audible sigh. How.. beautifully... romantic.
Torin seems not in the least as emotionally touched as most of those around him. Rather more piqued by the ceremony, he studies as each steps up and signs and taps his chin lightly. A slight murmur of, 'how effecient'. He seems rather pleased by that, if not particularly in the same manner as the rest seated nearby.
Idrani, being the youngest of the four, is the last to affix her name to the document. She steps up almost as soon as Femke is finished, perhaps wanting to finish the legalities before one of Thalev's bigger brothers decides to voice a last-minute objection to the wedding. Her signature is small and neat. In Graalek: Jaylas Idrani.
Idrani steps back then, exhaling slowly. The contract was signed without someone getting stabbed. Life is good.
When it is done, Balin smiles proudly at the four participants. He then moves and lifts the vellum contract. He returns front and center, saying, "Now, from this day, you will never know storms, for each of you will be as shelter for the others. Now, from this day, you will never know cold, for each of you will be as a hearth-fire to the others. Now, from this day, you will never know loneliness, for each of you will be as companions to the others. For though you number four, there is but one life for you now. And that life is to be filled with beauty, and fortune, in the journey of years ahead. And may joyful and bountiful be your days together, for the rest of your lives." He lifts the contract for all to see. "Let all present bear witness to the signatories of this document, and their signatures upon it. It shall remain on display throughout the rest of the afternoon's festivities." He sets the document back on its place of honor. Looking to the newly formed quad, then, he says, "Congratulations to the four of you." He then breaks into applause for the foursome.
Donavon joins in the loud applause, even taking a moment to errupt a short lived whistle. Pride and honor in seeing this complete shimmers in her smile, even the touch of romance. A little teary eyed, she turns that smile onto Malloy, Idrani, Nolte, and Claness.
Hurley is naturally moved to applause with the Captain, and can't quite help herself. She gets to her feet with tears brimming in her eyes.
Claness hugs Malloy! A real bear-hug. A hug reserved for the males of an Andorian quad. Oh, what a hug.
Ooops, here come the tears. Casya's amber eyes well up, despite her rapid blinking and sniffling to try and prevent herself from tearing up. She smiles and rises slowly, applauding the newly-formed quad.
. o O Torin thinks "I wonder how well he knows to operate on himself."
Rome joins the crowd, standing up. He's enough of a gentleman to make sure Casya doesn't need help, too. Then he offers his own round of polite applause.
Idrani embraces Femke with more gentleness, kissing her on the cheek. Is she tearing up too? Maybe.
Torin joins in and claps with the rest of the crowd. Adding in appropriate whistles and cheers for the foursome. He does watch Malloy take a bear hug. An amused look crossing his face but continues to stand and clap with the crowd.
Malloy turns to face his quad, then chuckles softly. "I guess it's too late now to take out the hammer to get my signature off that contract once again?" he jokes, then moves forward to first clap Claness' left shoulder (his husband), then to hug Idra (his wife) and, finally, sweep Nolte into a rather 'we are married, folks' kiss (the second wife. Or first wife....or whatever. It's pretty much Mormon...just with added antennae..).
Foster and Lanie join in the applause as well, quietly, as if not trying to draw any attention to themselves. Maybe all Foster's practice at being sneaky is rubbing off on his wife.
Nolte kisses both Idrani's cheeks, and tosses a smile to the two men. "He'll need better bones, more bounce." She says softly to Idrani in Graalen.
Takamura grasps Valentine's hand, giving it a light squeeze. After another smile to her, he positively beams as the ceremony concludes.
Nolte is then swept into a large, and rather public display of Malloy-marriageatude.
And now, for the Captain's dramatic exit. He taps his badge. "Computer, engage Balin Pink-Blue-Four." The transporter catches hold of the Captain, and he begins to dissolve. In mid transport, he waves at the four of the participants with a wide smile, and in a moment, he is gone.
The gravity stays in place. There is no tar and feathers. But resistance on the gravity plates goes straight to naught. No resistance means the surface becomes as slippery as ice.
Claness turns to the rest of his quad, offering both Idrani and Nolte gentle, if still *big* hugs.
Idrani hugs Claness, then quickly grips his big shoulders as it becomes apparent that shiny Starfleet dress boots fall far short of kochek cleats, in traction. "Oh!" She tries to find her balance.
Oh, that does it. Valentine starts wiping at her eyes with her pristine sleeve even as she rises... and /blinks/ down at the floor. "What the... Tak!" For whom she grabs.
Foster stops moving. Gee, imagine that. Gee, wonder if he can instigate a site-to-site transport program before he ends flat on his rear end....
Balin goes home.
Balin has left.
Casya's smile turns to an expression of dismay as she sees the grin on the Captain's face as he disappears. She's seen that look before. She doesn't like it. "Ohdear. This is not going to be pretty..." she murmurs, sitting herself back down /very/ carefully. Whatever the Captain did, it's effects seem to be somewhat muted over here by the exit to the Mall, but she's not taking /any/ chances. She's got babies to protect, after all.
Claness , being far less athletic than Idrani, slides down to the floor. He lands with a thud, butt-first, and begins to slowly slide across the 'room'. Thalev lets out a roar of laughter.
Donavon sits. And by Valentine's movements causes her chair to slowly gliiiide across the slippery surface. Bumperchairs anyone? Laughing, she tries to latch onto Hurley but ends up falling face forward to the ground.
Takamura stands up as he produces a handkerchief for Valentine. When the floor gets slick, he distributes his weight as he wraps his arms around Valentine to heep her from falling. "It's alright, Tara. I have you."
Nolte goes home.
Nolte has left.
Hurley is, unfortunately, not at the back of the Gardens. She has foolishly followed her grandmother to the front, and is even more foolishly romantic. Which means, she's a little distracted, excited and.. down she goes. Straight to the floor.
Rome slips right on back into his chair, almost going sprawling. He grabs onto the chair in front of him, steadying himself. "What just happened?" he asks.
Valentine clings to Tak with a growl. "Thank you. What the hell kind of fool pulls a stunt like this at a /wedding/?"
Torin blinks around as people begin to slip and slide. His eyes widen for a moment, then he starts to try and sit down, his feet begin sliding under him, almost like a cartoon as he keeps trying, and then blinks, "Bloody....hell." He lets out as he sits but misses his chair and goes down knocking over a few of the nearer chairs grumbling, "There needs to be a way to lock him out of gravity controls, Captain or not...this is evil."
Using Thalev's shoulder for a handhold, Idrani eases herself down, sitting on her husband's lap. "It's going to be hard to get to the ale from here."
Casya reaches out to help steady the ambassador's chair before he sprawls in a very undiplomatic manner, smiling sympathetically. "The Captain has a.... strange sense of humor. I /thought/ his pranks were limited to promotion ceremonies... but evidently I was wrong."
Hurley can't help but giggle, "Aww, Mo. Where's your sense of adventure? Humor? Engineering! Now, we need to find a way from here," she points at the "ice" under her, "and *there*," she points at Casya. "Engineer a way."
Malloy chuckles softly. "You had to ask the Captain, Jaylas..."
Krylow is in the process of standing when the floor gets slick. As a result he ends dropping back into his chair with a surprised grunt. He glances around in surprise and chuckles softly. He can laugh, since he didn't end up on the floor.
Donavon sits ala Indian Style on the ice and peers up at the crowd. "Are we playing kochek then?"
Claness smiles at Idrani, then at Malloy. "We can reach the ale is we can scoot close enough to...that...hedge...there. Ah!" Success. Thalev looks to Jaylas again. "Shall I push off, or would you prefer to find alternate transporation across the floor?"
"Evidently." Rome looks to Casya and offers a smile. "Thank you." Now he makes sure not too move too much, just in case. "Does this mean we're stranded here?"
Idrani wraps her arms around Claness's neck. "Push off. I'll hang on."
Takamura frowns letting out a low growl. "The Captain. That's who," he replies to Valentine. "He's infamous for these annoying pranks."
The Fosters, Caleb and Kaitlyn, slowly get to their feet, the former imitating Takamura by taking a stabilizing stance, the latter looping her arm with her husband's. Then they skate, skate for dear life! Successfully too!
Foster passes through the hedge into the mall.
Foster has left.
Torin hmms and shrugs, "Mmm easiest way is probably use someone heavier to push off, or, try and reach for a branch. We can only hope the trees and shrubs will hold." He hrmms, "That might work?" He offers. "Or skating seems to be popular."
Casya grins at Rome and shakes her head. "No, it usually doesn't extend past the room the ceremony is in. My guess is that if you step around me /carefully/--because I don't need my babies being squashed--you can probably make it out onto the mall with no problem. We're the lucky ones, back here."
Malloy snortles. "Figures, that certain Claness people think of beer only, first and foremost. Good thing I have you to blame then. So....let's see where I stashed my OJ..."
. o O Takamura thinks "Damn him. Thae Captain knows how to ruin every special event with these pranks. I will /never/ invite him to any of my special occasions."
Valentine grints her teeth. "I /hate/ practical jokes. Always have. Somebody always gets hurt. Speaking of which," she finds her balance carefully, then gestures, "Why don't you give Casya a hand, Tak. Don't need her falling."
Claness nods, sliding one arm around Idrani as he looks to Malloy. "I do not think of beer first. I believe I thought of my quad first, *then* beer." With that, he pushes off, sliding along the floor like a black-clad, blue-skinned hockey puck.
"And leave you here? That wouldn't be very chivalrous." Rome replies.
<CONTEST> Claness (claiming advantage) contests his Athletics (Butt Sliding) skill vs a difficulty of Challenging and Succeeds!
Idrani hangs onto Claness for the butt sliding ride across the floor. "Food ranks in there too, somewhere."
Donavon pushes with her foot to spin in place upon the ground. "Quite fun this is. Hey Tak," she looks to the duo of Tak and Valentine, "care to start a game? Could be fun. And we might as well take advantage."
Hurley whispers to Donavon, "As fun as this is, I think I'm going to.. go change.. or get ice cream.. or play music.. or something."
Donavon blinks up at her granddaughter. Donavon whispers to Hurley, "All work and no plaaaaay." She bats an eye. Is this really Meg talking?
Casya chuckles, watching people slip and slide their way across the garden. "As long as no one falls on me, I find it rather amusing to watch. At least it's only the floor that's slick. Last time, he turned the gravity down to practically null, and there were people floating around all over the Neutral Zone."
After speaking softly with Donavon, Hurley offers a big, bright smile in her direction and begins her struggle to get ahold of a bush and pull her way out of the middle of nowhere.
Takamura glances down at Valentine. "Want me to get you to the mall first? Just remember the skating lessons I gave you. Then I can come back for Casya." When Meg calls to him, he shakes his head looking none to pleased. "No, thank you. I think I'll pass considering he doesn't think of the safety of others."
Claness slides perfectly, carrying his passenger directly to the buffet table. The End of the buffet table, where the ale is.
. o O Takamura thinks "How the hell did he become a Captain with this blatent disregard for the safety of his crew?"
Donavon struggles to her feet but maintains a relative balance. "Put each of em on the chairs," she advises by pointing to the scattering of 'em, "then slide them to the door. Much safer that way."
. o O Takamura feels irate at the Captain.
"That wouldn't be pleasant." Rome comments. "But this could be amusing." He looks around at the others, especially those on the ground. Then he leans closer to Casya, moving to brace a hand against her shoulder as he does. "Just be sure to catch me, if it looks like I'm about to join them, okay?" He smiles.
Idrani reaches up to the table for a bottle of Endilev ale. It dances on her fingers for a second, before she gets a grip on it. She kisses Thalev soundly, before giving him the bottle to open.
Valentine shakes her head, not without a warm, pleased smile as she looks up at Hiroshi. "I'll make it, love. I know how to fall, at least, and without the added burden of spawn inside me. Go ahead." An eyebrow quirks at the wedding party, and she notes with amusement, "Glad they don't seem to mind all this."
Once she gets ahold of a bush, it's easy for Hurley to pull and push her way against a frictionless surface. She waves and smiles brightly to people as she passes on her way to the entrance to the mall, seemingly enjoying the light workout the Captain has prepared for everyone.
Torin simply complains from the floor and begins shifting slowly and steadily, first sitting up then moving a bit up to crouch. Careful to keep his balance in one place he grumbles, "Bloody nuisance. I never did like ice much." He complains then a glance to Tara, "I don't think much of anything could bring them down at the moment."
After dropping a load of fish on a Starfleet team and then being party to their revenge, Thalev Claness appears to be taking the whole practical joke in stride. If anything, it looks like he sees it as perftly normal. After returning the kiss, Thalev opens the bottle of ale and takes a swig before handing it back to Idrani.
Casya lets out a peal of laughter, geturing at the Starfleet officers crawling and sliding their way across the floor in their dress uniforms. "Surely you're not afraid of appearing undignified, Mr. Ambassador?"
As if on cue, Christine Hurley beams upwards at Casya and Rome from her position on the floor. "Good day!" she calls cheerfully, still making her way to the mall. Once she reaches the entrance, and more importantly solid ground, she pushes herself up, brushes off her dress uniform and begins her bounce towards the turbolift.
After his intial fall into the chair, Krylow stands while carefully keeping his weight over his feet. Small steps and a wider stance lets Krylow move carefully enough towards the exit. He keeps an eye out on the for anyone who made need some help.
"I like to be in control. Not sliding around aimlessly." Rome says, all in good humor, and drops his hand from her shoulder. He offers a wave to the passing Hurley. "Good day."
Hurley passes through the hedge into the mall.
Hurley has left.
Takamura nods to Valentine as he gives her hand a squeeze before letting go. However, her spawn comment nets her a raised brow and unpleasant look. Now is not the time to taunt the happy fun Tak. "Alright. I'll see you over there." He then glides over to Casya as if he had a pair of skates on. "Would you like me to slide your chair over to the edge?"
Idrani takes a good sized drink from the bottle herself. She also seems at ease with the practical joke, behaving as though she and Thalev are the only two people in the room, since the human half of the quad wandered off. She kisses him again. "Think we can reach some of the entree?"

Valentine turns her head to nod toward Torin with a wry chuckle. "That's as it should be, Mo." Veeeery carefully, she starts to make her way toward the mall. A quick glance is given after Tak for that look, but her attention is mostly on staying more or less upright.
Claness spins he and Idrani around once by pushing off of the table leg, taking advantage in the change of sensory perception to kiss Idrani again. After the revolution, Claness nods. "We can either push our way along the floor to the fruit tray, or we can pull the fruit tray to us." Claness makes as if to grab the tablecloth, eyes twinkling, but he doesn't really do it. Now, at his first wedding...
Idrani considers, "Someone /else/ might want to eat, when the deckplates go back to normal. Let's try to keep the collateral damage to a minimum."
Casya looks up at Tak and smiles. "Oh, i don't think it's necessary to take the chair over there, and end up blocking the entrance... but if you would be so kind as to give the Ambassador and I a hand getting to the door, Hiroshi, I'm sure we'd both appreciate it.
"
Torin laughs quietly, "If you say so. It was a nice ceremony though, very effecient, excepting the Captain's wedding present." He says wryly and hmms, "Though I am curious as to where the cake is." He adds lightly as he starts to get his feet and carefully tests the movement on there moving carefully and slowly hrmming glancing around the room for a few moments shifting as he starts to stand up slowly, carefully eyeing the floor, "Has anyone ever gotten him back?"
"Lieutenant Takamura. I wouldn't want to be left here alone without my date." Rome remarks.
Valentine turns quickly enough that her feet flail for a moment, and she goes down to one knee in sheer survival instinct. Cautiously getting back to her feet, she grins toward Torin. "Get him back. Now there is a lovely notion." She's an engineer. The possibilities are endless.
Donavon brushes up to her feet in seeing that the wedding and reception are basically over. "If that is all, think I'll catch up on my investigations. Oh Tak?" She looks to the officer, "Whenever you have a minute, I have more for you. G'day all." She then starts to skate down the middle of the gardens to reach the exit.

Takamura steadies himself as he offers the Orion a hand up. "Of course I'll help you, Casya." The Ambassador gets a stern look as he refers to her as his date. "Pardon me, sir? I didn't realize Lt. Cross gave you permission to date his wife. However, if you desire assistance to the mall, that can be arranged. Sir." Then as Donavon calls his name, he glances over to her with a nod. "I'll be sure to catch up with you, Meg."
Donavon passes through the hedge into the mall.
Donavon has left.
. o O Takamura thinks "What is it with these people in positions of power? If that's what happens when you reach the higher levels of command, then demote me back to crewman."
Torin chuckles, "Well of course it is, I came up with it didn't I." He adds brightly to Tara and waves at Meg, "Take care." He smiles and shifts, he watches the rest of a group then carefully begins trying to move towards the food. Hands out trying to keep his balance he offers to the latest Quad, "Mmm Congradulations, and much happiness by the way you lot." He adds brightly to those remaining.
Casya accepts Tak's hand and begins to rise, though her foot slips as she turns to blink in surprise at Rome's comment. "Your wha--whoa!" She grabs onto Tak, feet scrabbling for purchase on the only-slightly-less-slick floor beneather her feet.
Rome says wryly, "That's quite generous of you, Lieutenant. It would be appreciated." Then he smiles and winks at Casya, as she's helped out.
Valentine snickers quietly, continuing her slow egress. "That's my line, Mo." She rolls her eyes a bit, and tosses Rome an exasperatedly amused look, shaking her head. /Men/.
Valentine passes through the hedge into the mall.
Valentine has left.

Takamura manages to catch Casya as she begins to slip, wrapping his arms around her for support. "Just hold on, Casya. I'll slide us over to the side."
Claness carefully scoots down the table and gets a handfull of melon balls. He pops three into his mouth before offering Idrani one.
Casya nods gratefully at Tak, suppressing a wince as her ankle turns the wrong way just as Tak catches her. "Thanks, Tak. I owe you one."
"Be careful." Rome remarks, with some genuine concern. You know, at least a little.
Takamura looks at Casya with concern as she winces. Then, he winks at her with a grin. "I think you're up to more than one. But who's counting."
Idrani nibbles on the melon ball. "Looks like people are filing out... or sliding out. Craig and Femke are already gone." She swivles a little, to survey the room.
Casya gives Rome a wan smile at his apparent concern for his 'date', and chuckles a little at Takamura, holding on tight while he maneuvers her toward the exit onto the mall. "That's true. I probably owe you my firstborn by now...good thing I'm having two."
Claness nods as he licks the fruit juice from his fingers. "It was a good ceremony. As for the other two..." Claness grins a boyish grin. "They're probably helping each other out of their hot and uncomftable uniforms."
<PROVE> Takamura has the merit of Athletic Ability at 2.
Idrani chuckles. "Probably." She agrees, "Femke is wanting a baby soon, I think."
<CONTEST> Torin contests his Athletics skill vs a difficulty of Challenging and Succeeds!
Torin takes a few moments to study the group as some file out and some work on rescuing poor Casya. He appears to decide to make his mistake and carefully maneuvers out of the crowds half-skating half walking to the exit waving at the rest, "Good luck."
Claness says, "Soon? Well, Craid is a doctor. He knows how those things happen."
Idrani manuvers to get comfortably settled on Thalev's lap. "If he doesn't know by now, I'm not going to tell him." She says, with humor. "So shall we polish off this wedding feast by ourselves, or relocate to a location where walking is possible?"
Takamura glides the pair of them over to the mall hedge like a pair of figure skaters. He chuckles at her comment, it apparently lightening his mood.
Rome just watches Takamura and Casya move off wordlessly.
Torin passes through the hedge into the mall.
Torin has left.
Claness says, "I think we should take some of the feast with us, then retire to a more suitable location."
Casya tests her footing and finds that she has some traction on the floor where Tak has stopped, and smiles gratefully. She reaches up to give Tak a fond kiss on the cheek, "Thank you, Hiroshi." and then turns to limp carefully out onto the mall. Yes, limp. Dratted Captain's pranks.
Casya passes through the hedge into the mall.
Casya has left.
Having made his way to the edge, Krylow glances carefully makes his way out of the Garden and out of the chaos.
Krylow passes through the hedge into the mall.
Krylow has left.
Idrani tries to stretch enough to get a good look at the buffet table. "I don't see any 'to go' boxes."
Once Casya is safe, if not sound, he skates his way back over to the Ambassador. Offering a hand, he looks down at him. "Ready to go, sir?"
Claness shrugs. "We would never get around to eating it anyway. Shall we slide our way out of here?"
Rome reaches up to take Takamura's hand and rise from his chair. "I am, Lieutenant."
Idrani chuckles. "All right." She resumes her grip on Thalev's neck. "I'm ready."

Rome comes up to his feet and nearly goes off them, sliding along the deckplate. But he has a death grip on Takamura, and damnit, he's not going to allow that to happen. "Oh my."
Claness slides along, but apparently he didn't push off evenly. Slowly he and Idrani turn so that they're facing backwards. Moving forward on his best assets, looking in every direction other than where he's going, Claness rejoins married life in a manner befitting his chidlike personality. With that, half of the brides and half of the grooms depart the garden.
Claness passes through the hedge into the mall.
Claness has left.
Idrani keeps her seat on her husband's lap, sliding out with him.
Idrani passes through the hedge into the mall.
Idrani has left.
Takamura smirks as Rome clutches onto him. "Good thing everone has left, Ambassador. No one around to see you grabbing onto a grown man." Then with a slight push, he slides them to the side.
<CONTEST> Takamura contests his Athletics (Hockey) skill vs a difficulty of Challenging and Fails!
"Yes. Usually I'm grabbing onto grown women." Rome remarks evenly as he tries to move along steadily.
Unfortunately, Rome weighs a little more than Casya and Takamura misjudges his effort as they end up in the hedge as opposed to next to it.
"Ow." Rome grimaces and begins to pull himself out of the hedge, brushing away branches and leaves. "That was unexpected."
Takamura shrugs his shoulders. "Sorry, sir. I am much better when actually on skates."
"It's all right. Maybe you should carry a pair around with you, just in case." Rome straightens himself. "Shall we try again?"
Takamura nods with a grin. "Sure. Unless you just want to use the hedge to support you as you slide to the exit."
"Why don't we try that?" Rome steadies himself against the hedge with one hand. "The gardener will be quite displeased."
Rome passes through the hedge into the mall.
Rome has left.
Takamura passes through the hedge into the mall.
Takamura has left.
Starfleet has arrived.
