Brin stands a bit cautiously, as Fischer moves away from him. "Commander...Gwen...what's going on? Who's Evanginor?"
Poole glances at Brin and then Rixx, "Evanginor. Green fellow about..." she puts a hand above her head, "Yea high... pirate-y?" She steps further into the infirmary.
Gwen Poole's com badge chirrups. "Lieutenant Havaris to Lt Commander Gwen Poole."
Gwen Poole taps her com badge. "Go ahead, Kusot."
Valentine quirks an eyebrow at the description. "Arr, matey," she mutters, moving forward as well.
Minos Evanginor lies on his back on a biobed, legs crossed at the ankles, hands folded over his stomach, apparently asleep, for all that might be going on around him. He's currently shirtless, as his shirt is folded up under his head for a pillow.
Fischer wearing her normal starfleet uniform. She is making for the door in hope to leave for work. Or at least hoping to.
Over Gwen Poole's com badge, Havaris says, "Sir, the Chroniton Field around the Anomaly is failing. Suggest we go to red alert and clear the station's space of traffic. If she explodes, she's liable to take out anything within a lightyear, possibly more."
Fischer heads out and into the clamour of the Mall.
Fischer has left.
Into her com badge, Gwen Poole says, "Acknowledged. I'll set the alert... call up to ops to have them clear the traffic."
Brin mutters under his breath. "Wonderfull..." He looks around the infirmary and spots someone in on of the biobeds. "Do you mean him?" he motions towards said patient.
Crayn overhears the com message and looks over to Tara...
Over Gwen Poole's com badge, Havaris says, "Acknowledged Commander. Stand by."
Gwen Poole says, "Computer, red alert."
The computer acknowledges Gwen Poole with a bleep.
The red alert klaxon sounds throughout the station.
Valentine catches the Security officer's look, and her mouth quirks in a grim half-smile. "Yeah, yeah, I know. I'll make it up to ya, Jo." At Brin's question, she turns to move, cautiously, toward the biobed in question.
. o O Valentine thinks "Aw, c'mon, Jo, this is /much/ better than making love while the world ends."
Rixx stays out of the way for now, her green eyes watching everything however. She winces faintly as the klaxon sounds.
Poole walks over to Evanginor's biobed, weapon held pointing at the floor rather than at the Orion as a courtesy. She decides to wake him. Poor thing. "Minos!"
Brin steps over to Poole. "Commander! He's still under medical care!"
Over Gwen Poole's com badge, Havaris says, "Sir, I've located an anti-chroniton emitter under Minos Evanginor's head. If the skull gets in the way, I'd be happy to move it for you."
... In Science Lab II...
Havaris is seated at an astrometrics terminal, plotting the inversion and collapse of the Anomaly's chroniton field. Several theoretical episodes are shown, most of them involving a violent explosion at the end. Never fun. He's currently working at the internal sensors of the station, eyes narrowed and focussed. "I am not entirely certain yet. Something's interfering with the Anomaly's chroniton stability. It's recursive fold. Which means it turns in on itself ad infinitum. Emitting and contained by its own chroniton field. That field is destabilizing."
Fischer comes up behind him, "Its failing..." She looks worried. "I am not a whole space expert..thats bad right?
"Supernova are bad," Havaris replies calmly, "this is worse."
Over Gwen Poole's com badge, Havaris says, "Sir, I've located an anti-chroniton emitter under Minos Evanginor's head. If the skull gets in the way, I'd be happy to move it for you."
Evanginor opens his left eye slowly: it's clear now that he's been awake the whole time, and just patiently waiting. "Ahh, Gwendolyn," he nearly purrs. "You've come to tell me that my record comes up perfectly clean, and despite your personal desire to string my intestines around the Mall deck like party streamers, you, in fact, don't even have enough to detain me, and I'm free to go?" He folds his hands behind his head. "Why, thank you ever so."
Valentine throws Evanginor a dirty look for his tone, and gestures with her phaser to the shirt folded beneath his head. "There, I assume, Commander."
The terminal chirrups. "Ensign Lanie to Operations."
Brin taps the com terminal and terminates transmission.
Crayn takes up the other side of Poole, opposite Valentine, his Type II aimed down as well.
"Actually Minos... I came by for something else altogether," Poole states with the sweetest smile she can muster. She points her phaser at the bundle he was using as a pillow and says, "You have two options. You can move and I can destroy that thing before we all die, or you can stay put and I can destroy that thing before we all die. It'll just be messier the second route." Using her thumb she dials up the setting on her weapon. It hums appropriately.
Over Gwen Poole's com badge, Havaris says, "Sir, be advised, the object is a passive anti-chroniton emitter. A temporal hardpoint, in and of itself. I can think of a few objects with this sort of cohesion, but I'm almost afraid to guess. I have Fischer drawing us up a list of possible candidates. It survived transport once if it came aboard with him. I suggest we remove it from his person and place it in field containment immediately. We don't have much time, Sir."
Brin looks shocked. "WHAT?"
Gwen Poole's com badge chirrups. "Ensign Lanie to Lt Commander Gwen Poole."
Gwen Poole's com badge clicks as Lanie drops off channel. The channel closes.
"I'm afraid you're missing a third option, Gwendolyn, one that doesn't involve your court-martial in the end," Minos replies, his eyes becoming flinty for all that he's still nearly purring. "You know you have nothing to hold me on, so -- let me go. I walk out of here, and my /family heirloom/ that I am /very attached to/ goes with me, and I'll forget that you threatened my personal property and my life when I have done absolutely nothing wrong. I promise not to press charges."
Rixx looks to Brin and then to the patient laying on the biobed. At Poole's threat she looks shocked, eyes widening and turns to moves towards Brin.
Gwen Poole's com badge chirrups. "Lieutenant JG Takamura to Lt Commander Gwen Poole."
Valentine's eyes narrow. "We could beam /him/ into containment too. Oxygen'll /probably/ last long enough until we take care of that thing. Wouldn't want to seperate him from his precious heirloom."
. o O Valentine thinks "I'm starting to see why Gwen doesn't like this guy."
Gwen Poole's com badge chirrups. "Ensign Hurley to Lieutenant Havaris."
Over Gwen Poole's com badge, someone says, "If this isn't urgent, Ensign, I'm a bit busy saving everyone through applied science."
Over Gwen Poole's com badge, Hurley says, "Understood, Sir. I'll, erm.. find another ranking officer, Sir."
Brin watches Poole but gives a reassuring nod to Rixx. He's poised and waiting.
Poole nods, then says, "General Order Two. General Order Five. General Order Nine. General Order Ten. Look them up but don't walk onto my station with something you know would be kill my people, you sick bastard... don't think for a moment that you can put people's lives at risk and then tell me that you'll press charges for threatening your life." She adds, "Get up."
Gwen Poole's com badge clicks as Hurley drops off channel.
"I'm sorry, Lieutenant Commander, I was under the impression that I was innocent until proven guilty in the Federation. Did you skip that class in Academy?" replies Minos coolly. "And was that before or after you skipped the class where you learn to tell your subordinate officers not to point weaponry at the heads of people who have been charged with nothing?" One hand gestures toward Valentine, and he sits up slowly, languidly, as if he was planning on doing that anyway. The other hand remains -- always -- on his shirt, and whatever is inside it. "What makes you think I knew this was going to happen, or that I had any desire to come here at all? I know you feel your company to be so absolutely scintillating that no one would miss out on it, but frankly, I think it's a little overrated."
Crayn stands quietly, awaiting an order, but nods in agreement with Valentine. At Gwen's order to Evanginor, he levels his phaser at the man.
Into her com badge, Gwen Poole says, "Get ops on the horn. Have them scramble a shuttle team with a security escort. We're dropping Evanginor on Dulcais. He can go where he wishes from there."
The anomaly sputters and flares, burning brightly outside the viewports, more brightly than it's burned in its entire history.
Gwen Poole's com badge clicks as Takamura drops off channel. The channel closes.
Gwen Poole's com badge chirrups. "Lieutenant JG Takamura to Lieutenant Havaris."
Over Gwen Poole's com badge, someone aswers a touch curtly, "Yes, Lieutenant. I'm on the line with Commander Poole at the moment."
"Let us put your beloved heirloom into a containment device," Poole says to Evanginor. "Once the danger is averted, you can get off of my station and never come back, if you please."
Over Gwen Poole's com badge, Havaris says, "Ah. Commander. We need to contain that object, and we need to contain it now. Mister Evanginor can have it back once we're through with it."
Over Gwen Poole's com badge, Takamura says, "I'm in command of the Aegis and am requesting a status report to see how we may be of assistance, sir."
"I have a better idea. Why don't we put us both inside a containment field. I'd rather not be separated from my heirloom," Evanginor answers. "And before you go getting all self-righteous, Gwendolyn dear, I remind you again that I did not choose to come here in the first place." He unfolds his shirt, concealing the object within as best he can -- which is rather well -- as he slides the shirt over his wiry torso.
Poole smirks at Evanginor and says, "All I asked was for you to behave... and could you do that?... No." Stepping back, she orders, "Lower your weapons... at ease, all of you. Computer, raise a containment field around Minos Evanginor's biobed."
Valentine shakes her head slightly, taking a step back as her phaser's muzzle lowers to point at the deck. Her eyes glitter thoughtfully, never leaving the Orion.
Brin looks over at Poole. "Technicaly, if you want him to be held, I can quarnantine him medically."
Rixx's arms cross over her chest, watching the proceedings with a veiled expression.
Crayn lowers his weapon as well.
Gwen Poole's com badge chirrups. "Ensign Hurley to Lieutenant JG Takamura."
Over Gwen Poole's com badge, someone says, ""Go ahead, Ensign."
Over Gwen Poole's com badge, Hurley says, "Sir, I'm just letting you know that I still haven't received further orders, nor any updates, however, there seems to be rather.. peculiar.. activity with the anomaly."
Gwen Poole's com badge clicks as Havaris drops off channel.
Over Gwen Poole's com badge, Takamura says, "Understood. What sort of activity?"
Gwen Poole resets her com badge.
Shirt back on, Minos spreads his hands out to the sides and smiles at Poole as he gets to his feet, shaking out his clothing. "What have I done, dear Gwendolyn? I came along peaceably when you transported me to the Thomas Paine. I came alone peaceably to the infirmary. I have put up no resistance, no difficulty, nor have I even really complained when you've had weaponry pointed at me because I dared to keep my own possessions with me while I was in the Infirmary after requesting the aid you are required to provide by your own precious General Orders. Shame on me." A thin, feline smile. "Shall we go?"
Over Gwen Poole's com badge, Hurley says, "Well, Sir, it's rather bright now. Very bright."
Gwen Poole resets her com badge.
Gwen Poole taps her com badge and turns it off.
Gwen Poole taps her com badge and turns it on.
Over Gwen Poole's com badge, Takamura says, "I see. Keep me appraised of any updates."
Over Gwen Poole's com badge, Hurley says, "Understood, Sir. Operations clear."
Gwen Poole's com badge clicks as Hurley drops off channel.
A blue containment field appears around Evanginor as he stands from the biobed.
"Little more concerned about all of us not dying all at once, Doctor," Poole murmurs out of the side of her mouth, then looks to Evanginor. "We'll beam down to the shuttlecraft and have them put you in another containment field... if you do not mind, however, I would like to make sure the containment field is having the effect we had hoped."
Albertz arrives from the mall, the infirmary's outer transparent aluminum doors sliding silently closed behind him.
Albertz has arrived.
Valentine twitches slightly. "Gonna take a week to get the slime out of the shuttle," she mutters. She's not objecting- just commenting.
"I await your pleasure, Lieutenant Commander," purrs Evanginor. He practically licks his whiskers.
If he, you know. /Had/ whiskers.
Gwen Poole's com badge chirrups. "Lieutenant Havaris to Lt Commander Gwen Poole."
"Mister Crayn, stand down security. Doctors... keep reminding me what I'm not supposed to do," Poole orders. "And someone make sure Commander Edwards doesn't hear about any of this until Evanginor is off the station."
Gwen Poole taps her com badge. "Go ahead Kusto. Did it work?"
The area of skin where eyebrows would be, lift on Rixx's light blue face at Poole's words. Her expression cools and her arms cross over her chest. She does not however, comment.
Over Gwen Poole's com badge, Havaris says, "So far so good, Commander. We have a field ready to receive the sample in Lab two. I've put in a requisition for a mobile chroniton containment unit from the warehouse. With Mister Evanginor's permission, I'd like to have a look at the object first-hand. It will make his departure a good deal more secure, both for himself and for us. Plus, it means he doesn't have to put up with that containment field down there."
Albertz steps through the sliding doors from the mall. It's Red Alert and he can't even make a fashionably late entrance. He glances around the room, surprised to find more than the infirmary's typical complement of blueshirts.
Valentine quips quietly, "I could go distract him with a seduction if you like." An eyebrow rises a bit as Havaris' words are overheard.
Spider smiles easily at Havaris's statement. "I would be /glad/ to accompany my heirloom up to Lab two. Otherwise, no, I believe I do not consent, am growing tired of this, and would like very much to be about my business."
. o O Evanginor thinks "/Starfleet./"
Poole looks to Evanginor for his response to Havaris and then nods. "Very well. Then that is what we shall do."
Into her com badge, Gwen Poole says, "Kusto, he insists on accompanying it. I suggest you ready that field and then beam Evanginor, his heirloom, myself and Mister Crayn from the infirmary to the field."
Over Gwen Poole's com badge, Havaris says, "Very well. Stand by for transport. Mister Evanginor, Sir, if you could set down your artifact and give me a meter of distance, it will help with the transport. Thank you."
Evanginor says simply, "He transported me once with it, and he can do it again," his expression perfectly calm. He's not taking his hands off of this thing. Nope. No way.
"I'll head back to Ops," Tara says, and gives Evanginor an exasperated look.
Into her com badge, Gwen Poole says, "He's refusing, Kusto. You'll have to beam him with it."
Over Gwen Poole's com badge, Havaris says, "Sir, the artifact is destined for a containment unit and Mister Evanginor is bound to a piece of deck a short distance from it. Site to site is a dangerous enterprise, and separating the two mid-beam is a matter of considerable difficulty if he's holding the object. And he's well aware of it. So please, Mister Evanginor, set the object down for me?"
. o O Valentine thinks "Two to one the bastard still objects."
Poole peers at Evanginor and says, "Minos. It's not going to be out of your sight once. I suggest you do as he says, unless you want to risk the danger to yourself."
"You may analyze it while it is /in my hands,/ or not at all," Minos replies calmly, offering Poole his most winning smile. "I am offering you a compromise so that you can look at this thing you desperately desire to look at, Commander. I suggest you take it."
. o O Valentine thinks "I win."
Into her com badge, Gwen Poole says, "He won't agree to it. You'd best come down here, Kusto. I'm not risking anyone's life on this."
Poole crosses her arms and watches Minos just /so/. She neither smiling nor frowning. "We'll take your compromise. Just watch that you abide by the terms, Mister Evanginor."
Over Gwen Poole's com badge, Havaris says, "My sensor equipment is up here, Commander. Stand by for transport, please."
Albertz discretely maneuvers his way over to stand beside Brin. Leaning forward slightly, he whispers a question to the doctor.
Albertz whispers to Brin, "Andral...what's going on?"
Brin is standing next to Poole and Evanginor. He leans into ALbertz whisper and returns on of his own.
Brin whispers to Albertz, " This is another one of those 'If you're not high enough clearance, this didn't happen' moments."
Rixx looks to Albertz as he moves over towards her and Brin. Overhearing him Rixx replies in a dry tone, "Wouldn't we all like to know."
Evanginor disappears a few moments later in a shimmer of blue light.
Evanginor appears inside the containment field in a shimmer of blue light, still as calm and cocksure as ever.
Gwen Poole has arrived.
Crayn comes into view wielding a Type II Phaser.
Havaris's com badge chirrups. "Lieutenant JG Brin to Lieutenant Havaris."
Gwen Poole's com badge chirrups. "Lieutenant JG Brin to Lieutenant Havaris."
Fischer turns watching as all the guests appear in the lab.
Havaris is standing at an Astrometrics terminal, the one commanding the majority of the lab's display space. Simulations of the Anomaly's fate are, thankfully, all showing nominal conditions. Various sensor readouts for all over the station and the lab especially are displayed in cryptic garble. Once the transport is complete, Havaris tweaks the internal sensors to take a full battery of scans of the object under glass and turns to amble in the direction of the containment table. "Would you mind revealing the item, sir? I'm certain I've never seen such a thing before. Pre first-Imperium, isn't it?"
Havaris taps his com badge. "Yes, Doctor?"
Over Gwen Poole's com badge, someone says, "Yes, Doctor?"
Savarna rises from her work station, folding her hands silently behind her back.
Havaris taps his com badge and terminates transmission.
Gwen Poole's com badge clicks as Havaris drops off channel.
Savarna resets her com badge.
Fischer resets her com badge.
Gwen Poole's com badge clicks as Takamura drops off channel.
Gwen Poole taps her com badge and terminates transmission.
Evanginor resets his com badge.
Havaris resets his com badge.
Savarna resets her com badge.
Fischer resets her com badge.
Gwen Poole resets her com badge.
Evanginor resets his com badge.
Havaris's com badge chirrups. "Lieutenant JG Brin to Lieutenant Havaris."
Havaris taps his com badge. "Yes, Doctor?"
"Everyone in one piece?" Poole asks, glancing over towards Evanginor in particular. She takes the opportunity to dial down her phaser to a light stun, no sense taking chances now and all.
Over Havaris's com badge, Brin says, "How long was the anti-chronoton radiation in effect? I'm just wondering about general station exposure and if counter measures should be prepped."
Into his com badge, Havaris says, "The anti-chroniton emissions, Doctor, present no concern from a medical standpoint. No countermeasures necessary, but you're wise to be cautious. Thank you. Anything more, Doctor?"
"It may be," Minos notes calmly, unbuttoning the front of his shirt to reveal what looks like a very thick metal breastplate, into which has been set an ornate piece of metalworking. Several non-descript stones are set in it, and undecipherable markings cover its surface. Isn't it sweet? He's got a papoose for his artifact. "I would not know. As I said, my family has passed it down from generation to generation. Very dear heirloom."
Over Havaris's com badge, Brin says, "That was it. Infirmary out"
Havaris's com badge clicks as Brin drops off channel. The channel closes.
Fischer looks at the piece and then to Havaris. She seems to feel more at ease for a bit hearing Andral's voice.
Shamash comes into the lab from the hall.
Shamash has arrived.
With a tap of a button, Havaris takes a holographic shot of the revealed breastplate and artifact combination, paying careful attention to the script. He glances up at Minos for a moment, then nods his head just a touch, "I've had some experience with the First Imperium's artifacts. If I had an archaeological specialty, that would be it. Admittedly, it's a result of circumstances rather than a true passion, but your culture's origins /are/ fascinating. So technologically advanced for the time. Almost a match for contemporary science in many arenas." Havaris continues to cycle his scans of the object, quiet for a moment before tacking on, "This predates anything I've seen from that era. It must be worth a fortune. Why the harness?"
Evanginor raises an eyebrow. He looks down at himself, and then up at Havaris, and then down at the artifact, and then up at himself. "You have to ask?"

The consoles in the science lab flare with irregular anomaly activity. It's a sharp spike, much like that which was seen a few moments ago.
The anomaly flares brightly.
Havaris glances up from his work with a polite smile, "Yes, Sir. I do." He looks back down to his sensor readings and resumes poking at the controls, "I can imagine it has something to do with out mutual friend that--" Havaris lifts his head as the readings start to spike, squinting at Evanginor, "That's not you."
<CONTEST> Havaris (claiming advantage) contests his Shipboard Systems (Sensors) skill vs a difficulty of Difficult and Succeeds!
Fischer looks at Havaris and then the others in the room waiting for any direction.
Poole keeps Evanginor squarely in her sights, making sure to watch each move of his. But she is listening. "Aegis?" she asks of Havaris.
Savarna looks back towards her console, frowning sharply, and moves to sit.
<CONTEST> Havaris (claiming advantage) contests his Shipboard Systems (Sensors) skill vs a difficulty of Difficult and Succeeds!
Shamash comes through the door, almost faltering in his steps. Now what is happening here? He glances around, curiosity spiking at seeing so many people there and going into a slight frown as he notices the Non-Fleeter there. However, since non of the officers seem to worry about that presence, he moves to the side, trying to get someone to give himm a SitRep.
"Extrapolate your reaction to the artifact to someone without your impeccable ideals toward preserving the liberty and property of others, Lieutenant," Minos replies wearily, standing still within the containment field.
"I thought I was, Mister Evanginor," Havaris replies calmly as he continues to work at the sensors. He glances Poole's way and states, "Negative, Sir. The Anomaly's reacting of its own accord. I think it just wants this object to be off and about its business." Havaris returns to his work, poking at the controls one last time, "One more scan, and I think you'll be free to go, Mister Evanginor. You and your life-insurance policy." He sends Minos a smile and notes, "One moment, please." Poke poke, beep.

Evanginor smiles a slow, pleased smile. "Touche, Lieutenant. Touche, indeed." He waits, patiently, watching the Bajoran go about his scanny beepy console-poky business.
Havaris inclines his head humbly, acknowledging the point with grace and aplomb. He straightens up and concludes his battery of scans, saving the results where he can reference them later. With that done, he plucks up the mobile emitter and offers it to Minos with a nod of the head, reaching through the field in the process. "You will need, of course, to stay in the sector. Preferably on Dulcais Prime, Mister Evanginor. Three thousand civilians were killed when your ship was destroyed, and Starfleet and the Merchant Marine will be having a hard time putting together just what happened. I'm certain you're familiar with the de rigeur of ongoing investigations by now." A patient, generous smile at that. "My condolences for your losses. Is there anything from the wreckage you would particular appreciate recovered and returned to you, sir?"
Shamash zooms in on Fischer, eying Havaris and the civilian out of the corner of his eyes,. He speaks to her in a low voice.
Shamash whispers to Fischer, "Ensign Fischer, can you give me a Situation Report on what is just transpiring here? It looks rather ..quiet.. for alert status red."
"From the wreckage? No. I have everything I need from that. I would appreciate the return of two pieces of my property that you continue to hold here, of course, but I understand that we may have differing opinions on that matter," Minos replies smoothly, smiling his cattiest, sweetest smile. It's a shot across Poole's bow, that smile.
. o O Evanginor thinks "Granted, they /are/ ruined, but they /are/ still mine."
Poole smiles back at Evanginor and notes, "You have a better chance of me joining your harem than of ever getting those 'pieces of property' back... much less seeing them or being in the same room as them." Giving Minos a sweet little wink, she says, "I'll accompany you on your way to Dulcais to make sure nothing untoward happens to you."
"I'm terribly sorry, Sir, but we disposed of your collars. We didn't imagine you'd miss them, and the ladies certainly didn't protest their removal. I'd be more than happy to remit their market value to you. You can put it towards a new D'Deridex." Havaris gives Poole a brief look, sighs slightly, then smiles back to Minos. "A pleasure, sir. You're free to go. I am certain Commander Poole will see to your escort."
Evanginor buttons up his shirt, glancing up at Poole while he does so. "I'm sure I could have an extra outfit made for you on Dulcais Prime, Lieutenant Commander, but I'll understand if you prefer your green men a little more sickly in coloration these days. You /do/ have the requisite skills, I've heard; we'd be glad to take you on for the... novelty factor if you feel a need to change your career path." Havaris receives a broad, sharp smile, and a tilt of his head. "I'm afraid I have little use for my property once someone else has spent years desecrating it. I understand if, being Bajoran, you know how that feels."
. o O Gwen Poole thinks "I can't touch you /now/. But there is such a thing as karma Evanginor. You're a dead man."
Savarna frowns slightly, but says nothing, forcusing instead on her console, which will not sell anyone for profit.
With Fischer out of the picture, Shamash moves further into the lab and towards Savarna, intent on asking her the same question.
Shamash whispers to Savarna, "Lt Savarna, can you give me a Situation Report on what is just transpiring here? It looks rather ..quiet.. for alert status red."
Poole smiles politely and replies, "People aren't property... but then again, you don't care, do you? You never have. Not in this dimension, any way. Mind your manners on the trip to Dulcais and I'll mind mine." She glances over to Havaris and gives him a reassuring nod before leaning in and whispering something to him.
Havaris makes a pained little face, covering his compin with his hand as though to prevent a wound. He even reels a half step before resuming his previous positioning with a patient smile. "Any other pithy comments you'd like to make in the hopes of rattling me, Sir? Your very small, very nondescript shuttle is waiting to take you into protective custody. I'd hate for you to be late." Havaris' gaze drops to the disappearing breastplate, then rises back to Evanginor's eyes.
Savarna glances towards Shamash as he approaches her, then nods towards the nearest out-of-the way seat, apparently indicating that he should join her in sitting down and shutting up.
Savarna whispers to Shamash, "Lieutenant Havaris is determining the dispensation of the...gentleman...we retrieved last night."
Gwen Poole whispers to Havaris, "Do me a favor and try to make sure Michael doesn't hear about this until we're well and gone?... After yesterday on the bridge... Let's just get this over with. Crisis averted."
"Ah yes. To Dulcais Prime. That would be where your wife's recent Engineering conference was, if I remember correctly. I hope she returned safely? No shuttle mishaps?" Minos queries with extreme innocence, before gesturing with a hand. "I await the ability to maneuver freely, or be transported, or however it is that I'm getting to this very small, very non-descript shuttle."
Answer one question and get material for ten new ones. Shamash looks rather puzzled to Savarna. That was not very informative.. But he joins her and sits down, arms crossing before his chest and slightly reclining in the chair he choose.
. o O Savarna thinks "My apologies for not being all-knowing, all-seeing and capable of defecating mountains like the Great Bird, Lieutenant."
"It's also where your assassin is doing 20 to life for doing Rade Noonan." Havaris smiles briefly at Minos and reaches out to pat him on the shoulder, "But you wouldn't want to do something to my wife, Sir. That would probably make me rethink my choice of career." He gives Minos' shoulder a light squeeze before clapping it harder on the breastplate's shoulder strap. "Get this man out of the lab, if you please. We're done here." Havaris turns back to the astrometrics terminal and settles into his seat lightly.
Poole looks to Evanginor and says, "We can go now. I'll have security meet us there, naturally. Can't have you unprotected, not for a moment, can we?" She motions for Minos to lead the way out. "We'll walk."
Havaris drops the containment field and activates the portable emitter in synch from his seat.
"Rade Noonan... " considers Minos, before smiling toothily. "Doesn't ring a bell, sorry, Lieutenant." He manages to look injured at the second statement. "You see? I can't even be polite," he notes, directing this to Shamash and Savarna as if he's entirely /too/ put-upon before glancing at Poole. "Oh, of course not, Gwendolyn. I've done so much to try to escape your vile clutches up to this point, what might I try next?" That said, he begins to move within the portable emitter's field, apparently not in any particular hurry to leave, but not dallying, either. Nothing bothers him, or something.
The anomaly stutters and seems to fold in on itself for a moment, almost going out, to all visual estimates. It brightens again in a 'pop' of blue a moment later.
Shamash returns the nod to this Minos guy, having no idea who the man is, he even includes a small smile.
Havaris has concluded speaking with the man, apparently. When the Anomaly starts acting up, he hastens matters by plugging in the coordinates to the shuttle on stand by and sending Poole and the pirate there directly. Apparently he's not in a mood to dally.
Evanginor begins laughing as Havaris stops speaking and taps at his console; like everything else about him, the laugh is cocksure, deliberate, and slow. He takes his time in laughing, until that laughter's faded out by the transporter's sparkle and whine.
