Opened By: Vimes
Department: SEC
Stardate: 53265.1
Vimes added on 53265.1: This is to report what measures were taken by station security as a result of the red alert and call to battle stations that was given out. This report is being filed as of Stardate 53265.0
Lieutenant JG Turtledove, Ensigns Donavon, Stewart and myself all reported to the station's security office. I then hailed Lieutenant Commander Poole for instructions. Her directives were to secure the lower and upper mall rings, and then secure other vital levels of the station while ensuring that civilians were moved to their quarters or to designated evacuation areas until further notice.
Ensign Donavon and myself secured the lower mall, on Level 18. We then subsequently secured Levels 25, 5 and 15. On Level 5, we found Mr. Galven in the DTI office, and informed him of the orders from station command. We then escorted him to his quarters and met up with Lieutenant JG Turtledove and Ensign Stewart on Level 1.
Lieutenant JG Turtledove and Stewart secured Levels 19, 31, 28 and 16.
I subsequently hailed Lt. Commander Poole to inform her of the status of the directives given out, but was then hailed by station's Captain Balin that the orders were standing until further notice and instructions from Operations.
We gave the aforementioned levels another sweep, contacted the designated checkpoints for their status and then all returned back to the security office to wait for further instructions or until the red alert status was reported as being otherwise.

Poole added on 53265.1: Very good, Mr. Vimes. Your department did well in their duties during this battle drill.

Report Number: 22
Completed By: Dakin
Opened By: Ghorev
Department: CMD
Stardate: 53281.4
Ghorev added on 53174.4: On about Stardate 53174.0, I assumed temporary command of the Steamrunner-class Heavy Frigate USS North Carolina on a special presidential assignment to rendezvous with the D'deridex-class Warbird Kalar'nostrum. Our purpose was to retrieve the recovered Bajoran Orb of Destiny from the Romulans. While still at extreme long-range hailing range, we discovered the warbird was changing course towards one of the outer planets of the Iridosia system. Hails were made but none returned, and we moved to intercept at maximum warp. En route, we discovered that the ship's course would lead to collision with the planet, one of the rocky and uninhabited worlds of the system, but even at best speed we arrived with merely 40 or so seconds to spare before Kalar'nostrum reached a terminal re-entry phase. This was not enough time to disable its shields and beam out a handful of survivors, or disable its engines in the hopes that our tractor could move it a few degrees off course into a more survivable crash angle, though we of course tried the latter in the hope of saving at least a few lives, as well as the Orb. We failed, and the warbird crashed with almost all hands down.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Malloy added on 53251.4: As the prototype was created successfully with the very generous help of the Engineering depratment, namely Commander Ghorev and Lieutenant Javits, I had the opportunity to extensively make use of it and give it thorough testing. I'd request a few more testers for the trial period, then I'd be more than happy to discuss possible steps. I guess we should inform Starfleet Medical rather sooner than later of it, offering the Specs to the higher ups in the Chain of Command, as well as approach Command staff on board 419U to maybe equip Shuttles and away teams with it.

Opened By: Tyler
Department: CMD
Stardate: 53281.4
Tyler added on 53276.5: The buoy maintenance pass is complete. Using the Thomas Paine with a jump box attachment, we were able to successfully EVA the buoys into the box. Repairs were effected by Ensign Risa's engineering team. EVA was required to re-set the buoy in place.
All Buoys have been upgraded to the new sensor system and the Jump Box on the side of the Thomas Paine has been disassembled. Two buoys required total recycle. These were fully replaced.
Lt. Takamura was placed in charge of the EVA maneuvers. He was able to teach basic EVA skills to myself and several other officers.
No problems with the Thomas Paine to report, no problems with the crew experienced. Overall, a highly successful mission, for which I give full credit to my professional crew. Lt. Medes was more than helpful, and it is my belief that she will make a good Command Officer one day.
Thank you, Commander Ghorev, for giving me the opportunity to prove myself. Please extend my thanks to Captain Balin as well.

Donavon added on 53267.6: The following report shall log the progress of Ha'nuQ, son of Ha'qur during his probational period.
Stardate: 53267.5 Thursday Fight Night: Holodeck One
Observation: Ha'nuQ exhibited signs of restraint during each bout with the Station's crew. Not once despite his earlier irritation that the holoprogram ran behind schedule due to a mix-up in scheduling, did Ha'nuQ take his aggression out on his opponents. Each fight was done fairly and within the holoprogrammer's owner's and Fight Night's rules. Note: Appears to be progressing well so far. Shall speak with Ha'nuQ within the week to gain his perspective on aggression and force on a Federation station before proceeding with any corrections to that logic if necessary.

Mister Idrani, it has come to my attention that, in what appeared to be a misguided attempt at helpfulness, a telepath residing on this station nevertheless projected thoughts without invitation -- that is to say, forcibly -- into the mind of Ambassador K'net-Mauri. I wish a discreet inquiry to be made as to whether the Ambassador, who was noted by my informant to be rather disturbed by the unwelcome intrusion, wishes to make formal complaint in this matter. Advise him that I take this extremely seriously, and if he wishes action taken, I want to hear about it. If, on the other hand, he wishes to let the matter drop, I would nevertheless appreciate all possible information he would be willing to share about the offense so that the offender can be counseled in propriety.

Opened By: Malloy
Department: MED
Stardate: 53286.4
Malloy added on 53285: I would like to request a replicator for the Infirmary. Reason being: If we have patients who stay overnight, giving them food and drink would be easier than having medical stuff run to the nearest available replicator somewhere on the mall and get something. Next, some of us spend more than just their shift in the infirmary, studying for example. Having a small replicator available to get coffee and then get rid o the containers straight away would keep the Infirmary in order and convenient. I'm not asking for industrial strength, just for a normal replicator like in quarters. If Commander Park would endorse that request and forward it appropriately, I'm certain not only I would be very grateful.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Park added on 53286.4: Request denied. I don't see the use of installing another replicator when we have one in my office. The door is never locked so feel free to use that one. Please make sure that we're chiming the door just in case someone else is using the office for a conference.

As ordered to post any new developments that concern Ha'nuQ's probation, I thought it important to open this record in noting thus.
According to records Ha'nuQ had ordered a security restraint against Randal Thorne about two months ago. Within the past three days, the Klingon personally had the previous order lifted to give the human another chance. As a participant in the holoadventure hosted by Ha'nuQ, I had the opportunity to witness this new situation between the Ha'nuQ and Randal. There are signs of lesser hostilities and an agreement of sorts. There are no expectations of either causing the renewal of the previous restraint at present.

Opened By: Ghorev
Department: CO
Stardate: 53289.1
Ghorev added on 53289.1: For violation of the SOP regarding an officer's respnsibilities in reporting for duty, Dr. Vala had been placed on informal punishment detail by Dr. Park. The nature of this detail is that she is to be supervised in her shifts by Dr. Malloy, with whom she exchanged in a negative verbal fashion, in the commission of her violation of SOP. Dr. Vala appeals this on the grounds that Dr. Malloy will clearly be biased.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ghorev added on 53289.1: I have explained to Dr. Vala that she has the right to accept formal written reprimand instead of more creative informal responses by her superior. She has declined to accept. That said, Dr. Park's orders will stand with the following clarification: There is to be a regular review by Dr. Park of her performance to deterine when her detail under Dr. Malloy will end. Furthermore, Dr. Malloy is to supervise her administatively, and not in her performance as a caregiver, for which she is a qualified and licensed physician. Any attempt by any officer to interfere unduly with Dr. Vala's care of her assigned patients will be addressed. Report filed. Copies of this to LTJG Vala and LCDR Park, the latter having the repsonsibility to ensure that Dr. Malloy, as Dr. Vala's temporary administative supervisor, is familiar with the clarifications given above.

Completed By: Spect
Opened By: Golden
Department: FLEET
Stardate: 53295.5
Golden added on 53195.4: The Education Center has drafted their basic Catastrophic Response plan (see attached file). At this point they need to the following:
Security: A "Permanent" detail of enlisted security specialists and one officer that is responsible for covering the EC during red alert situation, including escorting the staff and children to their mustering points or evacuation points. Once these crew are assigned it is asked that they start spending a few hours a week helping out in the classes so the children be acclimitized to them to them, and then they will help run the necessary emergency drills with the staff and children so that in the event of a real emergency the children will be reassured and comfortable with their presence and thus more manageable.
Operations -- The EC plan needs to be reviewed by Mission Operations, then rallying/mustering points and escape pod assigned. Practice Drills will need to be scheduled to these points so they are comfortable and familiar to the children as this will maximize their ability to fulfill their emergency plans.
Medical -- an enlisted EMT team needs to be assigned to the EC for emergency purposes, and then follow the same plan as the security detail as outlined above.
Engineering - It is requested the Engineering assist Mission Operations in going over the plan, and supplement it with plans for transporting if necessary, jefferies tube alternate routes with an emergency access key code being given to the Starfleet detail serving the center; pre-planned emergency power routing to facilitate emergency operations involving the center and the egress from there during an evacuation.
Once these matters have been resolved, please submit a copy the completed operational plan to the EC so they may comply with it's outlined activities and the drill schedule. Thank you for your attention.

While I have detected no physical damage upon her person from this unusal assault, it is my recommendation that she and any other psionic personnel aboard this station report for a brief psionic evaluation to ensure that all present are in an acceptable level of mental health.

Park added on 53296.0: As no other individuals have come forward with a reoccurance of this phenomena, and due to the fact that I can find no physical evidence that would lead me to believe there is any danger to the station, I am closing this report.

Report Number: 100

Stardate: 53298.2
Javits added on 53290.6: Report Received:
Unforeseen difficulties in the design of the glove unit known as the FML (formerly the MMD) have been causing degradation in the sensor systems of the glove faster than it is practical to effect repairs to them. All of the gloves produced thus far are experiencing the issue. Chalk it up as a neat idea that is more trouble than it is worth.
The design has it's flaws, but I believe these discrepancies can, with additional research and a few refinements, be sufficiently resolved in order to return the glove to service. It's far too useful a device to simply let it fall to the wayside.
First order of business is to track the issue. As afar as I've been able to deduce, the sensor system design is at fault, though it may even be an issue related to the replicators themselves, or rather the manner in which they form the sensor grid and is associated assemblies. Little can be done until the cause is tracked down.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Javits added on 53298.2: After extensive testing of existing and newly created FML glove units, the discrepancy has been tracked and resolved. Due to the molecular resolution used in most replicators, both food and equipment models, single line molecular errors were introduced in the FML's sensor system. These single molecule errors eventually led to premature degradation of the sensor system. The same single molecule errors are also a known cause for some rare food items acquiring poisonous qualities, rendering them unreplicatable.
By narrowing the resolution to the quantum level, most notably associated with transporters, the single molecule errors were effectively eliminated. However, this requires far more time, computer and power resources to properly replicate an FML glove unit. Therefore, issue of the units is limited to medical personnel and those persons with clearance from the Captain.
Issue resolved. This report is hereby closed and filed.
