Report Number: 9
Completed By: Idrani
Opened By: Idrani
Department: CMD
Stardate: 52607.8
Idrani added on 52420.5: This is a follow-up report to the First
Contact incident on-station. Our guest Klaer has been stablized in the
Infirmary. He remains in a containment field to provide an environment
somewhat warmer and more humid than the station's normal setting. This
will assist in his recovery. The duty nurse reports that he should be
released from the Infirmary sometime in the next week.
Klaer is from a planet known as Zuuphronia. The biological make-up
appears to be similar to Terran cetaceans. Please refer to the medical
reports for further biological data. The Zuuphronian people have been
in conflict with a species known as the Khaltress which are described
as large creatures covered with black fur quadraped on the lower body
with two powerful extremities on the upper body. Klaer characterizes
this species as expansionistic which practices slavery. Zuuphronia was
invaded for its dilithium deposits. The Zuuphronians encountered this
species over a century before the Exodus when the Zuuphronian
survivors fled their planet after they had begun space-faring and had
made allies with neighboring races. There had also been Zuuphronian
colonies established. They had lost contact with their allies and
colonies before the Khaltress attacked their planet. One of these
allies known as the Talphinia had been conquered and enslaved by the
Khaltress.
After a century of war with the Khaltress the Zuuphronians
attempted to flee their homeworld in thirty large colony ships. This
attempt failed and the colony ships were destroyed. The Zuuphronians
traditionally peaceful artists and poets were adapting to fight the
Kahltress but ultimately failed. The last survivors including Klaer
presumably fled in stasis pods.
Initial scans on the stasis pod indicate that it has been in space
for at least four hundred years maybe more. This estimation would put
Zuphronian first contact with the Khaltress six hundred years ago. It
should be noted that the Zuphronians appear to have very sophisticated
data transfer programs built into the wrist bracers worn by Klaer. I
have assurred him that no attempt to break into the memory core of the
stasis pod will happen without his express permission.
Additionally Klaer describes a "song" which appears to be
a highly developed telepathic link with the rest of his species. The
fact that he cannot "hear the voices" of his people is a
source of distress. The song is described as "The Song binds us
and has existed from days before were sentient. It permeates every
Zuuphronian. Every one of us has the entirety of the song within us
but we all add our seperate notes to it our own melody's and inuendes.
Each individual a note each family a chorus each city a stanza.....
Ever flowing."
Klaer has been given the First Contact protocols which he
immediately downloaded from the PADD to the computer in his bracer. He
was also given the sensor data we had when we first detected the
stasis pod as well as information about the comet's tragectory and
path. Klaer states that when he is certain he can trust us he will
give us access to his computer's memory core. I was prepared to file
paperwork for requisition of political asylum but considering the
timetable of events and the fact that none of these three species
mentioned are anywhere on record that did not seem necessary. All the
same I let him peruse the document so that he is aware that standards
for such things exist in our government.
There is a certain level of anxiety in our guest which is perfectly
understandable given the circumstances. On the whole the species
strike me as very adaptable and social. The family and community bonds
are likely quite strong the separation from his people is obviously a
source of emotional and it is reasonable to assume physical distress.
As the species has a long history of conflict and invasion an
aggressive response to perceived threats is also likely and was
witnessed earlier. I believe it is important to maintain a calm
environment which has as little restriction as possible. He also needs
ample opportunity to observe our social interactions in order to
establish trust. I would suggest that he be billeted in civilian
quarters when released from the Infirmary. However given that it is
already established that the Zuuphronian computer technology is highly
advanced and has already linked with the station's computer I would
suggest heightening the security on classified and sensitive files.
Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Idrani added on 52607.8: Our Zuuphronian guest, Klaer, has been
granted political asylum by the Federation Council. At this time, the
Council has declined to devote resources to assist Klaer in searching
for his people. Resources cannot be diverted from the war effort.
However, the Romulan Ambassador K'net-mauri has indicated that the
Star Empire might be able to assist with this search. It should also
be noted that the Zuuphronians have a noticible technological advance
in data storage and transfer which exceeds current Starfleet
standards. As the efforts to help Klaer take form, I will open another
report.

given birth to a healthy baby girl weighing six pounds and five
ounces, and reaching a total of eighteen inches long. The baby is
half-Bajoran and half-Human. Mother and daughter are to rest in the

Report Number: 80
Completed By: Ghorev
Opened By: Clough
Department: CMD
Stardate: 52608.7
Clough added on 52592.5: On Stardate 52592, two Romulan vessels
contacted the station requesting medical aid while continuing through
the Neutral Zone. The ships, a Medical Cruiser and a Starbird, had
both sustained damage but remained operable. They were returning to
Romulan Space with casualties from a recent battle and were incapable
of treating all of the wounded without aid. A medical crew consisting
of Doctor McNeill, Counselor Park, Ensign Zian, Sublieutenant Sukhar,
and myself, and accompanied by Romulan Ambassador K'net-mauri were
dispatched on the Thomas Paine to assist. Casualty estimates at the
time of the initial communications with the ships were over five
hundred. We reached the ships in two hours and were transported on
board the Romulan Starbird, Kondor, where the majority of the injured
were being seen to. We were greeted by Romulan Doctor T'elsor and
split between various treatment rooms to offer what help we could for
the wounded. After several hours of treatment, approximately one third
of the injured had expired with more likely to follow. I estimate the
fatality rate would have been greater by thirty percent or more if we
had not been present to assist. All of the station's staff acted far
above and beyond the call of duty, and Doctor T'elsor expressed his
gratitude before we parted ways at the border of the Neutral Zone.
Although the casualty rate was high, the mission should, overall, be
considered successful. Any further questions that may arise regarding
this mission may be directed to me.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ghorev added on 52608.7: At this time, Command staff has no further
questions. For once, a straightforward, successful mission.
Congratulations all around.

Doctor Clough decided to try and take me to task in front of the other
officers. I decided to ignore her comment and bring the meeting to a

Lieutenant Dakin to escort her to the brig. Since my comment,

casualties placed all staff present under considerable strain as they
attempted to help several hundred injured Romulans and watched many of
those expire in spite of their attempts to save them. Some of those
present felt that strain more strongly than others, and may find
themselves in need of counseling. This is not an official
recommendation for evaluation, but please be alert if any of those who
were present for that mission seek the assistance of Counseling staff.
I have no doubt that whatever help is needed will be offered, but some

Questions may be directed to me. Thank you.

no sincerely threatening blow was struck. It is hoped that Mr. Garrett
will learn his lesson from this and deal with Starfleet Officers via
the means offered him by the Station, Starfleet, and its affiliated
consulates.
Additionally, it is my belief that Jackson provoked this
altercation. His actions during the stand-off, and after Garrett's
arrest were not those befitting his uniform, in my opinion. He openly
spoke ill of a member of Command Staff before Junior Officers and
Civillians and sought contact with myself and Mr. Garrett in security
only a few minutes after Garrett's arrest. I suggested to Mr. Garrett
that he file a complaint regarding Ensign Jackson's conduct, which I

Idrani added on 52590.7: The diplomatic meeting was interrupted by
the sounds of a struggle. The doors to the conference room were
opened, revealing the Security detail assigned to the diplomatic
meetings, apparently unconscious. A robed figure then entered the
room, vaguely humanoid but with a shuffling gait. It seemed intent on
approaching Ambassador S'terik. I interjected myself between the two
after the Klingon ambassador was kind enough to lend me a weapon. I
then called for additional Security, who arrived to the conference
room in a timely fashion. The intruder was clearly more agitated by
the presence of Ambassador VuQ'cheH and did seem as though it might
attack him. The intruder removed its hood, revealing features that
might be best described as a hybrid of a Vulcanoid and some type of
insect. Ambassador S'terik identified this intruder as Ambassador
S'ral. S'ral indicated that his purpose in coming was to speak with
Ambassador S'terik. I interjected that given that this was an
intrusion with one security officer already down, any conversations
between S'terik and this S'ral should take place with a security
containment field between them. S'ral was also warned that any further
aggressive movements toward anyone on the station would result in
being stunned with a phaser. S'ral was, however, agreeable to
discussing his business in security. I was then asked by S'terik to
order a site to site transport of S'ral to a holding cell. I did so,
after conferring with the Security office. S'ral indicated that he
wanted to speak with S'terik alone, but I suggested that S'terik allow
Station Security to keep him on a monitor during this conversation.
S'terik was agreeable to this, however he stated he wanted no audio

Stardate: 52630.2
Ghorev added on 52422.6: Last month's holodeck and replicator
failures can now be traced definitively to a virus uploaded
accidentally through Counselor Gellan's PADD. Since I can draw no
other conclusion I am officially handing this and all related notes
off to Security with the following caveat: An origin from any of the
usual suspects has been definitively ruled out. The only match for
this virus at all comes from descriptive reports of an archaeological
dig at Nadar IV ... you will almost definitely need help from Science
Section to peruse the records of the Nadar IV expeditions as a
starting point. If you have any questions schedule an appointment to
see me.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Leah added on 52630.2: +report/add 11=I think I may have found how
the culprit got on the station, or, rather, the science department did
rather nicely. The dig on Nadar IV uncovered very ancient ruins of a
sophisticated race. Inside the ruins were computer systems which the
science team managed to finagle /some/ information from. The virus
must have been amongst that information, brought onto the dig team's
base computer. Ensign Gellan, around that time, went on leave and
visited the dig, and time logs from her personal padd indicate that
she downloaded a replicator pattern for Baruvian coffee from the
base's computer. Lt. Golden is correct. The virus did hop from
Counselor Gellan's padd to our systems. In support of the theory that
this virus originated on Nadar IV, I offer up the fact that the dig
itself started experiencing problems with their replicator systems a
few short weeks after Ens Gellan returned to the station.

routine physical. According to my scans, she is in excellent physical
health, though she did show signs of recent distress. She explained
the condition by informing me that she had just experienced an acute
bout of anxiety due to a phobia, which had been triggered just prior
to entering the infirmary. She did not elaborate, so I do not know the
cause, but her symptoms were as follows: pale complexion, trembling,
dry mouth, elevated heart rate, high levels of epinephrine, etc. She
may require additional innoculations, as the most recent ones she has
recieved were 8 months ago, at Starfleet Academy. At the time, the
other on-duty doctors in the infirmary were occupied with other
patients, and I did not wish to cause my patient any further distress,
so I requested that she return to the infirmary at another time, when
it was quieter, to have an actual doctor review the scans I made to
ensure that they were accurate, and to ensure that her innoculations
are up-to-date. Further, I have recommended to her that she speak with
a member of the Counseling staff. If she is to become an asset to the
Rapid Response team, she /must/ learn to deal with her phobia, lest it
immobilize her at a critical moment during her duties.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Clough added on 52634.1: Ensign Turtledove's physical has been

she is evaluated by counseling. At that time, she will be advised
whether she may continue working, or be placed on medical leave while
being treated. Any questions may be directed to Doctor Gorgha or me.

Subject: New Crew Members
Sirs,
As per your request I have been reviewing the procedures on the
arrival of new crew members. I feel this would not be an issue if it
weren't for the war. However, I feel the Starfleet might need to
review it's procedures for crew transfers to the starbases. Since the
majority of crew transfers for starbases take place via starships
docking and people using the airlocks where transfers on starships are
normally via a transporter system with a member of the crew in the
transporter room to familiarize the new crew member with the ship.
We should know when to expect the new crew members. But we should
not allow them on the starbase without either being escorted the
Training Officer, Crew Management Officer, Counselor, or some other
appropriate crew member. This may also help protect the bases from
infiltration of shape shifters. The officer escorting the new member
could then inform the new crew member of any standing orders on the
base, make sure they find they're way to the physical, answer any
questions they might have, plus help build the connection of comrades.
While this suggestion is obviously going to take additional time
out of already busy schedules, I feel like this would be fairly easy
to implement and provide the most return. Not only could we prevent
some of the problems you've been seeing, but it would also give a
local officer a chance to evaluate the new crewman as well.

Report Number: 106
Completed By: P'Trell
Opened By: P'Trell
Department: CO
Stardate: 52640
P'Trell added on 52636.2: On our mission to upgrade the sensor bouy
located in the Irdosian system, the Cape Fear picked up a distress
signal from a unverified Federation merchant vessel calling itself the
City of Gallup. Ordering the Cape Fear to Yellow alert we proceeded to
the source of the distress call. When we arrived, we found nothing
except debris and the engine trail of a second vessel that we can only
assume was Dominion in origin given the engine signature. However
sensors could pick up nothing. No increase in tachyon levels or any
other standard cloaking device signatures were detected though this
could have been due to the levels of sensor interference common in
that area. Given the fact that we only had a runabout with a crew of
four and the fact that there was no sign of the City of Gallup, I
determined that the situation was likely a potential trap. I then
ordered the Cape Fear to get the bouy deployed and online. After
apprising Starbase 419 of our situation. We got the bouy online and
were engaged by a Dominion attack fighter which we were able to evade
in the oort cloud present in the system thanks to a rather ingenius
plan involving the detonation of a small photon torpedo in addition to
electronic countermeasures which muddied the Dominion vessel's
sensors, devised by Ensign Varanya Ashilav and the flying prowess of
Mr. Foster. Before leaving the system, we made some preliminary scans
of the planet's surface. Our scans revealed at least one ground force
batallion of Jem'Hadar. We also recieved a hail from a Federation
combadge. The hail appeared to be accidentally initiated by an
Irdosian native who had acquired the badge. Scans revealed no
lifeforms not native to Irdosia barring the Jem'hadar but as sensor
readings in that area are notrioisly difficult, the possibility does
exist that survivors from eithet the City of Gallup or another
Federation vessel may be present on the planet. Given the importance
of our mission, I decided that the Cape Fear's first priority must be
to get the new sensor bouy in place. Given that our presence was
detected by the dominion and the relative size of the opposition
compared to the runabout and crew, I gave the order to leave the
system deeming a rescue attempt too risky without more information and
manpower. I apprised Lt. Commander Edwards of the situation prior to
the writing of this report.

implanted into the ear canal for the majority of her life. She feels
no need to remove them to have this condition medically altered. A bit
of research will be needed to track down the date in which the current
implants where surgically implanted as her medical records do not
contain this information and depending on there age, replacement may
be necessary. I have, however, cleared Ensign Medes for duty and will
be notifying Lieutenant Ghorev so he may be in a position to better
monitor his crewman. Should he notice any problems with her ability to
comprehend or hear what's being said to her, he can have her return to
the infirmary for a follow up.

Clough added on 52645.4: As Doctor Haven says, Ensign Medes has
been cleared for duty. Since Mr. Medes has been unable to provide us
with the age of her cochlear implants, I am attempting to contact
Starfleet Academy to request her full records from her time there. If
they have no information on the dates of the surgery, it is very
likely Mr. Medes will have to be scheduled for exploratory surgery to

Opened By: Jackson
Department: CMD
Stardate: 52658
Jackson added on 52653.5: Sirs,
I do not wish to speak out of turn again, especially when I'm
nearly done with my waste reclamation duty. It has been 13 days since
the order of no alcohol was issued and I have not seen a single rule
infraction except for Ms. Aian which Mr. Havaris handled with
expertise. While I still believe that we should maintain a state of
readiness I am worried about the state of morale because of the ban.
I've been reviewing the staff rotation and available personnel and
have come up with two possible options that the senior staff may want
to consider.
Since a thumbprint is required for payment we could limit the crew
to a single drink per day after they have completed their shift. The
other option would require a bit more paperwork but I would be willing
to add it to my normal duties. By looking at the crew rotations we
should be able to arrange a 48 hour window between duty shifts. Again
by using the payment system we could limit the crew's consumption to
the first 24 hours thereby giving them 24 hours to get it out of there
system. By going to this type of rotation it would also allow the crew
more consecutive recreation time.
I realize that my office is not responsible for crew morale and I'm
sure the station's counselors could offer a better opinion of the
overall feeling of the crew. But I would be happy to work with any
department in any regard.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Balin added on 52658: The current orders will stand until changed.
I appreciate hearing the crew's suggestions but they will have to
tolerate a dry station for a while longer. These orders are not up for
debate.

Clough added on 52662.4: Doctor Haven has been relieved of duties
through tomorrow, but will likely be able to resume her duties
thereafter. She will remain a patient in the infirmary for the next
eight to twelve hours. She was admitted this morning with signs of
severe ketoacidosis and is being treated accordingly as her pancreatic
function is determined. When a differentiation has been made between
Type I and Type II DM, we will prescribe treatment according to that
diagnosis. Currently, she is to be NPO so if anyone visits, please
inform them she is to have nothing by mouth until after her testing in
the AM tomorrow. Following her tests, she may eat according to an 1800
kCal diet. Further orders will be issued when a full diagnosis is
made. Questions may come to me. Thank you.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Clough added on 52665.1: Doctor Haven has been released from the
infirmary with a definitive diagnosis of Type II, Non-Insulin
Dependent, Diabetes Mellitus. She is being started on Metformin HCl
500mg twice daily and will be rechecked in one week by me outside of
the infirmary. Afterwards, she will be checked biweekly for two
months, then monthly thereafter. Should no ketoacidotic crises occur,
I see no reason for her to be readmitted to the infirmary for further
evaluation. On her discharge, she has been given a blood glucose
monitor, and a chronometer-style wrist band set to vibrate a silent
alarm every five hours from 0900 to 1900 to act as a reminder to eat.
This should reduce her chances of a recurrent crisis and increase her
nutritional status. I will continue to oversee her medical treatment
while she is on board this station. Questions may be directed to me at
any time. Thank you.

As noted in report 17, I am attempting to meet with Aian regarding
Noonan's will and the future of the Neutral Zone as well as to gather
further information which might be of use in the murder investigation.
After tenatively arranging a meeting, Aian offered to sell me alcohol.
I asked her if she had a springwine. She found a bottle, took it in
hand, and displayed it to me. I accepted the sale and told her to
process the sale however she might 'in the current climate'. She
informed me she has ways of keeping things under the table. I have yet
to verify if the sale was processed as a sale of alcohol, or a sale of
some other beverage currently allowed for sale to Starfleeters aboard
station. The bottle was wrapped and touched only by her, I will
recover prints and a DNA sample if possible. It is currently held in
Security's evidence lockup. I felt it necessary to purchase the
alcohol on Starfleet's latinum for two reasons. Firstly, it
demonstrates Aian's lack of cooperation with Commander Balin's orders
to Starfleet Personnel and request for cooperation by the local
merchants. Secondly, it allows us leverage and excuse to look more
deeply into matters within the Neutral Zone in the course of the
homicide investigation and any future investigations within the Zone.
Command's input on this matter is requested.

distress call from the Federation civilian freighter Kris. The Kris
reported sustaining heavy damage and injuries and requested
assistance. We allowed them to dock and had their wounded tended to by
Dr. Clough and her team. Meanwhile, we had determined that the damage
to the Kris had been the result of Romulan weapons fire. Immediately
following that discovery, the Romulan Warbird Kelchen'por arrived,
claiming that the Kris had attacked their vessel while on escort duty
for a convoy. Originally, the extent of the damage done to the Warbird
seemed too extensive for the very minimally armed Kris, but the
vessel's commander, Captain Zushal, claimed it was one of several
ships participating in a concerted attack. After being told only that
the Romulans had docked here, the ship's first officer... the ship's
captain did not survive... became nervous and immediately requested
asylum. Ensign Ashilav ran a background check on the crew and found
the first officer was not only using a false identity but was on our
list of suspected Orion Syndicate members. I immediately had my people
take the crew into custody, minus the four crewmen that are still
under medical care. I'm placing a request to Engineering that the Kris
be examined bow to stern for anything out of the ordinary. The
Kelchen'por remains docked here and intends to remain so until we can
straighten this out, given the asylum request. I should point out that
the Kris is equipped with a torpedo launcher that's not listed on its
registration. Also, Captain Zushal specified that his request for
extradition extended only to the Kris' officers. My thanks for Ensigns
Kentoz and Ashilav for their work in this endeavor. At present, the
Kris' crew are in custody, minus the aforementioned being treated in
the infirmary, and the Romulan vessel is berthed here until they can
affect repairs, tend their wounded, and see the conclusion to this.

of the SS Kris was brought up by the Romulan Ambassador K'net-mauri.
The Star Empire is requesting the immediate extradition of the
officers of the SS Kris to their vessel currently docked at the
station. In addition, they would like the immediate return of one of
their devices stolen by the SS Kris, which is described as something
that masks life signs. I am assured by the Ambassador that Starfleet
should be able to easily identify it and should 'quit playing with it
and return it quickly.' I informed the Ambassador, that in the matter
of the prisoners, as they are being prosecuted under Federation law
for crimes in Federation space, I could not authorize the extradition
until the legal process had run its course, without authorization from
the Federation Council. We were able to reach a compromise, however,
that the Star Empire would accept the extradition of the officers,
except the captain, whom I am to understand is being held for capital
crimes, and the immediate return of their stolen property. I would
encourage that course of action, provided it will be agreed upon by
the Federation Council. There is the matter of their request for
political asylum, however, I believe by virtue of the fact that they
are wanted for high crimes on /both/ sides of the border that this
will be denied by the Federation Council.

Opened By: Edwards
Department: CO
Stardate: 52674.2
Edwards added on 52670.2: After getting my crew in place, we set
out on the USS Thomas Paine, joining a joint Starfleet/Romulan task
force led by the USS Accountability on course for the Fimdari system,
in an effort to wrest away control of the surrounding airspace from
the Dominion. When we arrived in the system, we were met by a Dominion
fleet of ten Jem'Hadar fighters and two Galor-class Cardassian
warships. We engaged our assigned target, fighter 977841, and managed
to destroy it in two passes with the help of some expert flying by
Ensign Leah, insightful power adjustments by Lieutenant Foster at Ops,
and sharpshooting from Lieutenant Havaris. Before we could celebrate,
however, we noted four new Jem'Hadar fighters joining us from the
planet. I ordered us to pull away, toward Fimdari's moon, in a
successful attempt to get the Jem'Hadar to split their forces, as two
fighters went around one side of the moon and the other two went
around the other side to try and intercept us. While the move wasn't
pulled off as well I had hoped -we tipped our hand too earlier as we
engaged the two that followed, causing the other two to come bounding
in too earlier- some timely assistance from the Accountability made
the odds a little more even, as they destroyed two of the fighters.
With two left, we prepared a strafing run, and thanks to a one in a
hundred shot made of Mr. Havaris, destroyed both of the remaining
fighters. The rest of the Dominion fleet had been taken care of by the
rest of the task force, so we moved in toward Fimdari, lending
assistance to the Andorian ground forces and picking up our stranded
crewmen. I would like to note that the entire crew performed well
above expectations, allowing us to come out of the battle without a

Stardate: 52674.2
Poole added on 52672.2: I've delayed in this report a day to gather
my thoughts on the mission, and to recall clearly what happened. It
was a long three days. After the briefing, my team and I reported to
the USS Sutherland. My team consisted of Ensign Blair, Ensign Medes,
Ensign Turtledove, Lieutenant (jg) Park, and Ensign Idrani. We were to
help in the building of defense structures on Fimdari. We arrived and
met with a Lieutenant Aldin of the ADF, and began coordinating our
efforts. Within two days we had built a line of trenches, a bunker and
a phaser cannon, and shortly before we were to bring it operational,
news of the USS Sutherland's apparent destruction reached us. I
ordered the cannon brought online, and gathered my team within the
defense bunker, which contained the controls for the cannon itself. I
do not think I could have expected more from my team than what they
gave. They served with distinction and without any hesitation. Medes
was able to get the cannon itself online and Ensign Turtledove got
several shots off, hitting transport vessels bringing Jem'Hadar troops
to the battlefield. The ADF forces arrayed themselves in the trenches,
using transport inhibitors to prevent the Dominion from beaming troops
down. Unfortunately, we were not able to raise the shields on the
cannon itself or the surrounding area. I do not think it would have
bought us much more than a few minutes at most, however, and the
system itself was likely faulty from creation. The troops landed and
began cutting a swath across the trenches, and I knew there was
nothing more I could do... not with the small team that I had. Instead
I began arranging for a retreat through an escape tunnel in the
basement of the bunker, extracting my team and as many ADF survivors
as we could manage. Moments after we emerged from the tunnel, a ship
in orbit destroyed the bunker and the cannon with a polaron burst. For
the next day and a half, we were on the move until we reached a cave
that was being set up as a base of operations for the resistance
effort. All of my team members spent time on sentry duty and scouting,
occassionaly participating in small skirmishes. On the third day of
the invasion, a scouting team composed of Ensign Turtledove and Chaka
Endilev, an ADF officer, discovered a Cardassian/Jem'Hadar hunting
party. Using this tactical knowledge, the ranking ADF officer at the
base Chakev Kaleth and I formulated an ambush plan, using Turtledove's
team as bait. She lead them into a path between two high bluffs, where
we lay in wait and took down the entire team. Miraculously, or so I
think, we managed to capture a Cardassian officer, who we interrogated
under sedatives back at the base. Due to this and efforts by Blair and
Medes with the Cardassian officer's com system, we discovered that
Andorian children were being taken to a rendevous point nearby. From
there they would have been taken to an 'Experimental Base X19' where
the Dominion is trying to create ketrecel white. I shudder to think
whether the children would have been used as labor... or in the
experiments themselves. I was able to get the coordinates from the
Cardassian officer and have attached them to the bottom of this
report. In any case, a rescue attempt was mounted, whereupon my team
and the ADF forces in the area set upon a shuttlecraft being loaded
full of andorian youngsters. We were able to knock out all the
officers, who were largely cardassian, with heavy stun. Ensign Idrani,
whom I instructed to take the shuttlecraft at all costs, was
successful, and brought down the pilot before he could escape with his
precious cargo. During all this my other officers gathered the
children and the ADF, for a hasty retreat back to our base of
operations. Hours later we were recovered by a team from the USS
Thomas Paine. I would like to take the time here to commend all of the
officers who served on this mission. Lieutenant (jg) Park ran out when
the Dominion troops were wiping out the ADF forces in the trenches,
during the most bitter part of the initial invasion. He brought back a
wounded man at the risk of his own life. From there he became a
surgeon, working in the triage areas set up and saving many lives.
Ensign Medes worked with Ensign Blair to crack the Cardassian
communications systems, thereby allowing us to discover this
'Experimental Station X19 and rescue the children. In addition to this
they still managed to build a phaser cannon, the defense bunker and
lines of trenches, despite rather horrid environmental conditions.
Without them we would have been lost. Ensign Turtledove showed immense
courage, holding her position in the phaser cannon's control area
until she absolutely had to evacuate. In addition to this, she lead
many scouting and foray missions. She also kept us safe as our team
worked on the initial construction before the invasion. Lastly, but
surely not least, Ensign Idrani served well in both a command and a
diplomatic capacity. She kept the operation running smoothly from the
get-go, ironing out some of the differences of opinion between our
team and the ADF forces in the area. Once the invasion occured, she
again functioned as intermediary, keeping the resistance forces, both
Federation and ADF, working as a team. Also, she, showing immense
personal courage, was the one who took control of the shuttlecraft
about to getaway with 34 Andorian children. She had to get past two
cardassians outside, four whom we didn't know about just inside and
the pilot. Her bravery is the model that all starfleet officers should
follow. Below this section of the report I've included more detailed
tactical information about the base, the initial battle and a casualty
estimate. The coordinates I described are above as well, I do hope
they are well and duly noted by Command. This Experimental Station
needs to be shut down. It goes without saying that the emergence of
another supply of ketracel white in our sector would be a serious
tactical blow to our cause.

Dakin added on 52427.8: At approximately 1230 hrs. this morning I
was alerted in Ops of weapons fire of both phaser and disruptor energy
signature. The location was Level 15 room 1511. Those would be the
quarters of Neutral Zone proprietor Rade Noonan. At Lt. Ghorev's order
I dispatched a team to investigate. As they arrived internal sensors
picked up a massive concentration of epsilon radiation in the room
upon which I instructed my officers to stand by while I had EVA suits
rushed to them. Once inside my people discovered the bodies of Mr.
Noonan and Brect the Ferengi who worked as a gardener in the Mall.
Cause of death appears upon prelim to be weapons fire... presumptive
theory being that the two shot each other at roughly the same time.
The source of the radiation was discovered to be a cylindrical device
30 cm in length. The device emitted the radiation for a period of
three minutes before going inert. Forensic findings are unfortunately
minimal as the radiation destroyed any inobvious physical evidence.
I'm putting in a request that Engineering go over the device so as to
determine its origin or anything else about it. In addition I want
Brect and Noonan's personal histories gone over with a high level of
scrutiny. I believe there may be more than meets the eye here. I also
am requesting an autopsy on Noonan from Medical. In addition given
Ferengi custom I'm putting in a request for an autopsy with Ambassador
Lux in case we may get some form of leeway. Also of note an interview
with Counselor Yasharra Gellan an officer with whom Noonan was
involved revealed that Noonan was planning on leaving the station
possibly permanently.

of the Suspect's complicity well in hand, motive and opportunity
established. This current report is now closing in favor of a new
report handling the matters post arrest and the investigation further
up the chain of our Suspect's command.

Nevaren added on 52675.1: A Suggestion to Boost Morale.
While Conversing with a number of officers, I came to the discovery
that many of them, like me, recieve family 'care packages' fairly
reguarily. As much as shipping allows, anyways. It is something that
many look foreward to. But I thought we could take it a few steps
further and make it a morale bossting event.
1) Once a month, we could set aside an area for a Bazaar, where
Officers can trade and barter things from their care packages with
other officers and their care package items. Not only does this allow
for many officers to get things they may have not gotten yet wanted,
but it also allows for many officers who have never met in a social
environment to do so.
2) Ask for officers to donate a small single items from their care
packages. Whatever is collected could be spread to officers who don't
receive care packages and.or may not have any living families. The
donations wouldn't be mandatory and they would be anonymous.
Lt(jg) Nevaren, Asst Chief of Engineering

Balin added on 52676.4: An excellent suggestion, Mr. Nevaren. Look
into arranging such an event for the crew.

Opened By: Poole
Department: CMD
Stardate: 52676.5
Poole added on 52674.8: Aaron Park has a reputation already for
being selfless in dangerous situations. His service record indicates
his ship was attacked by three Galor class warships and was nearly
destroyed. He risked his life to evacuate four wounded crewmen from
the Engineering section. I was witness to this selflessness on Fimdari.
Lt. Park ran out into the trenches and pulled back an injured ADF
officer, despite the Jem'Hadar death squads that were sweeping towards
the bunker we were in. In addition to this, he worked non-stop, as in
without any rest, in the triage set up in the resistance base. Without
his skills and dedication, we would have lost many more lives. Because
of this, and because I was his commanding officer during the mission,
I feel it my duty to praise him, and recommend him for a commendation
or possibly even a medal.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Balin added on 52676.5: I am proud to present to Lt. JG Park, and
Lt. JG Poole the Distinguished Service Star for their efforts on
Fimdari. These two officers should be role models to the entire crew.
