Report Number: 295
Completed By: P'Trell
Opened By: Tyler
Department: SCI
Stardate: 52336.4
Tyler added on 52318.7: Lt. P'Trell, I would like permission to
study the live Lithian we have captured. I would also like to request
Lt. Laco's efforts in coming up with a way of containing it for
possible study. They have the ability to pass through standard
containment fields, so we must look for alternative containment
options before study can commence.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
P'Trell added on 52336.4: Given the high security level of the find
as well as the sentient nature of the Lithian in question I have no
option but to deny your request Mr. Laco unless you were somehow able
to gain the Lithian's consent for study. Given the stress that the
being must be under due to the new circumstances it finds itself in I
am afraid that such consent at least at this time could not be seen as
freely given not under duress. Request denied.

Department: MED
Stardate: 52338.2
Clough added on 52210.1: The Science department has asked to work
with us on a study of an unknown life force encountered recently.
Lieutenant P'Trell has forwarded me the information we currently have
on these beings, and I would like to see what more we can determine
about them. The following was the information I received, please let
me know what sort of studies are run in the infirmary, and any
information such studies turn up. Thank you. Forwarded Information:
The life forms - The life forms are semi-amorphic humanoids, with a
rather loose and generally unspecified anatomic structure. The beings
do have something that might pass as a musculo-skeletal structure and
there are definitely internal organs at work, but they seem general
and vague and the whole being give The are have a complex hydrocarbon
based cellular structure, and it is difficult to understand quite how
they function (you'll need help from biologists or medical). However,
suspended in their cellular matrix are complex semi-inorganic
crystalline organelles that are highly refractive and reflective.
Initial research suggests that by altering the alignment and densities
of these bodies, the beings could manage to bend and shape light,
possibly in very complex ways. Depending on their evolutionary
advancement and degree of control, they might be capable of creating
very complex illusions, altering their appearance drastically.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edwards added on 52338.2: In light of the lack of evidence that
these beings may still be on the station this case is closed.

Department: ENG
Stardate: 52339.7
Lace added on 52326.6: Ashilav added on 52317.1: During final
testing of the SCARAB units, the unit designated as CURLY identified a
problem in the isolinear chips of an EC-014-A tertiary backup system
in my engineering console. Upon further inspection, it appears that an
isolinear cascade failure occurred when the chips polarized from a
previously undetected micro-flaw in one isolinear chip, which began
spreading through the unit. I've spent a good amount of time this
evening identifying why this was not detected by Titan nor engineering
supply when the part was delivered - it took a very high-resolution
scan to find the defect in the module in question, which is not part
of our testing procedure, nor is it part of Titan's from what I can
gather. Twenty eight modules were delivered to the station in recent
days that have the defect- all other three-hundred forty eight modules
currently in use on the station are unaffected. I recommend that Titan
be notified and a recall be issued, and all EC-014-A modules be
replaced with older models till Titan finds the breakdown in
manufacturing.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ashilav added on 52339.7: All consoles and junctures listed have
been repaired. Faulty EC-014-A units are in engineering storage for

Clough added on 52344.9: Since arriving on board the station,
Ensign Haven has fallen increasingly under my direct scrutiny, and as
I have observed her, I have seen nothing less than the most sincere
efforts and desires put forth from her that we would, and do, expect
of all Starfleet Officers - in many cases multiplied many times.
Ensign Haven's concern and care for Ensign Bela throughout her
pregnancy in spite of disagreements with both myself and Lieutenant
Edwards gives me little doubt that she is fully able to function as a
ranking officer in Starfleet regardless of personal opinions and
biases, and her recent assistance with the casualties brought to the
Aegis' sickbay followed by her unhesitating help with Lieutenant Dakin
and the regeneration of his arm - although her likelihood of failure
was near as great as the chance of success - only further suggests to
me that she should be recognized both for her accomplishments and her
beliefs. As such, I would like to recommend that you consider her for
for a commendation as a result of her complete success in replicating
Lt. Dakin's arm in far less time than any one expected the replication
to take. Furthermore, I would ask that you consider promoting Ensign
Haven to the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade so that she may claim the
title of "Doctor" rightfully, which I believe she deserves.
Thank you for the consideration.

Tue May 28

Report Number: 309
Completed By: Edwards
Opened By: Ghorev
Department: CO
Stardate: 52370.1
Ghorev added on 52359.3: On Stardate 52357.7, while upgrading the
sensor buoy ring around the Dulcais Sector Anomaly, USS Amazon noted
an interruption in the flow of subspace communications. This was
traced to a failure in Subspace Relay Station 23, which had gone
offline, and come back online 235 seconds later with automated
transponders only and been thrown more than 1LY from its deployed
position. We received a distress call from CPO Yvonne Kirby, one of
SRS23's 4-person crew. She indicated her team leader, LTJG Sovhar, was
undergoing psychotic episodes, which, combined with the inexplicable
movement, warranted proceeding to SRS23 at Yellow Alert and maximum
Warp. We found SRS23 at emergency power with structural damage which
Ensigns Idrani and Blair later determined to be physical torque and
extreme aging stress. There were high concentrations of both
chronitons and anti-chronitons in shift from one state to the other,
causing unreliable sensor and transporter locks. Determining that one
SRS23 crewman was already dead, and two more were in an unejected
life-support pod, LTJG Golden, Dr. Haven, Agent Duncan and I proceeded
into the wreckage to rescue the crew and contain and treat LTJG Sovhar.
LTJG Sovhar ambushed the Away Team, using cover and throwing debris
until we could pin him down with suppressive fire. His advanced
condition rendered him resistant to stunning effects and Agent Duncan
determined him to be at critical radiation saturation, in which any
more exposure even to the nadions of our phasers could kill him. We
were forced to engage hand-to-hand and sedate him, suffering minor
injuries. During this encounter, Lt. P'Trell, left in command of
Amazon, found enough of a pattern in the chroniton flux-shift to
filter sensors through it, allowing Ensigns Blair and Idrani to rescue
the remaining crew of SRS23 via transporter and making contact with
USS Champion, a nearby ship. Ensign Blair also determined that the
initial damage and position change to SRS23 was caused by a 'wave' of
the unusual chronitons deduced by Lt. P'Trell and Agent Duncan, said
wave still travelling at a speed of about Warp 2.2 on a direct
collision course with the Dulcais Sector Anomaly. En route back to
Station 419, we rendezvoused with USS Champion, which took the SRS23
crew into their sickbay for treatment we could not provide on the
Runabout.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edwards added on 52370.1: The chronal wave was dispersed
successfully. The sector is safe once again.

Department: CMD
Stardate: 52370.1
Golden added on 52366.6: Duty Log - After Action Report Stardate
52366.5 May 26th, 2375 On Stardate 52357.7 I was assigned to man the
tactical station aboard the U.S.S. Amazon for a mission to deploy
signals and communications boosters around the Anamoly under the
command of Lt. Ghorev. Ensign Idrani was the helm officer and Ensign
Blair was manning the Mission Operations and Engineering Station. Also
accompaning the mission were Lt. P'Trell, the Chief Science Officer-
Doctor Haven for medical support- and Department of Temporal
Investigations Agent Duncan, who I presume was there to lend expertise
in the matters of chronitonic disruption and the like. The mission
proceeded on schedule and without incident until we completed
installing buoy 19 and were enroute to section 20. Lt. Ghorev ordered
Lt. Blair to do an open receive on all general communications in the
region, to determine how much alteration was caused by the buoys and
how much was caused by the Anamoly. We determined that a dopplar shift
had occured in all the general communications and the non-general
communications channels as well. Lt. Ptrell quickly realized that this
was caused by an attempt to compensate for a missing relay. We
determined that the missing relay was in fact Subspace Relay Station
23 and it had been offline for 212 seconds at that point. We attempted
to make direct hail contact and were unable to do so, but the
automated relays recommenced at the 232 second mark. Lt. Ghorev,
following standing and general orders, redirected our course to
investigate the unusual situation and ordered the launch of our data
probe. It was determined that Subspace Relay Station 23 was 1 ly away
from it's original position with no indicator how it could have
manuevered the distance. We received a fragmented distress call from
the area that matched up with personnel from SR23. After a 30 minute
flight at maximum warp we arrived in the area and attempted to
ascertain details of what had occured and what was occuring. We were
able to get a scan despite the intense interference of positive and
negative chroniton fluxuation, and from that determined that the
Vulcan commander of the station was mobile, the human and napean
crewmembers were taking refuge in an unlaunced escape pod, and the
Tellerite was immobile and appeared to be deceased. Lt. Ghorev left
Lt. P'Trell in command of the Amazon with Ensigns Blair and Idrani and
lead an away mission with myself, Dr. Haven, and Agent Duncan.
Following Lt. Ghorev's directions we were able to swiftly capture Lt.
j.g. Sohvar and recover the corpse of the Tellarite chief. The crew on
the Amazon were able to transport the other two crew members after
clearing up the interference. We rendezvoused with the U.S.S. Champion
and transferred over the entire crew of SR23. In this officer's
opinion all members of the crew and away team comported themselves
well and with adherence to Starfleet Regulations and Guidelines and it
was through the decisive actions taken by Lt. Ghorev that lives were
saved. End Report.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ghorev added on 52370.1: As noted in previous entry the rescue
mission as well as the subsequent dispersal of the chronal wave were
successful.

Department: SCI
Stardate: 52424.8
Zero added on 52237.4: We haven't been unable to decipher much from
the provided information, nor could we find any secondary power
source. Computer systems are very basic, with sensors and
communications being substandard. The only system of significance is
the gravity engine. We couldn't find out how the gravity wells were
created, but we believe that the design of the ship could be used to
'streamline' small warp vessels if studied more. After going over the
logs of the attacks on the probes, it looks like the ship can use its
gravitic capabilities to focus radiation on its target. The intensity
of the radiation was so high that the probes systems were disrupted,
but not so high that it would put a ship with shielding in harm. We
also believe that it can utilize its abilities to launch objects, such

Job #2 has been

To: Acting Chief of Security Havaris
CC: Duty Security Division Leader Rivers
Re: Diplomatic Security Issues
Sir, having had some time to speak with others regarding our
political climate locally and our security issues regarding our
diplomats I would like to request the following:
1) That a Political Climate report be compiled by the station
diplomatic staff for distribution to all of security that includes not
only the public publicity data but real politic information gathered
from whatever sources Diplomatic Section uses. I'm talking about
keeping us informed what Clans or Houses or species the Diplomats and
their families or close friends have rivalries or outright hostilities
with. If for example one klingon attache's House is in a blood fued
with another, we need to not only know about it, but also the symbols
of that House, what subhouses fall under it, what their symbols are
and so on. With this data we can construct software that will flag
incoming data regarding these tags so we have an increased chance at
heading off any critical incidents regarding such matters well before
the station is in danger.
2)That each diplomatic group be encouraged to develop and
evacuation and relocation plan now in case one should be needed in the
future and that we be allowed to practice the execution of the main
plan and its varients at reasonable intervals so tha we can be sure of
it's smooth execution when it might be needed.
3)That measures be taken to ensure that no media images, either
through our own PIB or related agencies or the propaganda divisions of
any of the ambassadorial nations, be released showing the features of
our standing security. By keeping what OpSec we can regarding the
identity of those who serve as diplomatic security we make it more
difficult for terrorists or other criminals to target the security of
the Ambassadors and thus make an attack on them more difficult.
4) Considering that diplomatic pouches are sacrosanct and thus not
for us to inspect as we would other incoming cargo, I suggest that we
refit a Shuttle to act as a Quaratine station off the Starbase in a
localized orbit with a rotating security detail. Agents of ambassadors
could transfer to the shuttle and open any parcels and packages there
extracting what data they might need and even dispose of them on site.
This, though more incovenient for the Ambassadorial Staff, will
facilitate us intercepting any inappropriate items that might normally
be smuggled in on the diplomatic pouch -- by this I mean bombs aimed
at the diplomats floated in through their own resident system, not any
implication that our ambassadors themselves might be requesting
anything inappropriate.
I realize that it is not my official capacity to worry about such
things but I make these requests and suggestions based on lessons I
have learned dealing of the after effects of cases where such
precautions were not taken and highly motivated radicals took action.
With regards,
Lt. Dylan Golden

Wed Jul 03

Job #28 has been
completed by Clough:
This evening, I was notified of a medical emergency in the Neutral
Zone by Ensign Idrani. Three visiting Rynkans appeared in respiratory
distress for no immediately obvious reason. They were transported to
the infirmary where we attempted to stabilize their condition. An
unknown toxin was detected in their systems, and after repeated
attempts to slow the toxin's affect and stabilize the patients, two
were pronounced dead. In the meantime, Ensign Kiran reported two
identical cases in the Dream Factory, and those Rynkans were
transported to the infirmary as well. Lt. Ghorev was notified and
attempted to use the transporter biofilter to remove the toxin from
their systems. Although for a few moments, this appeared successful,
the toxin inevitably returned and the Dream Factory Rynkans also
arrested with all attempts at resuscitation failing. One member of the
Neutral Zone Rynkans survived the toxin and remains in the infirmary
under a level eight containment field. He is weak and will require a
transfusion of Rynkan blood as soon as we can assure the sterility of
retrieving this blood from the remaining Rynkans on board their
vessel. He is unconscious and will be kept sedated until he shows
signs of strengthening. In the meantime, I will be performing the
autopsies on the bodies of the four Rynkans. Questions regarding this
case should be directed to me.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Comments from Clough: Death Certificates for the expired Rynkans:
<Insert Rynkan Name Here: Rynkan #2> Sex: Male // 1) Cause of
death: Full Arrest secondary to Anaphylactic Shock related to unknown
allergy to anaesthetic administered to relieve seizure activity in
progress and relax muscles. // 2) Mechanism of Death: Anaphylactic
Shock. // 3) Manner of Death: Accidental // 4) Immediate Cause of
Death: Complete organ system failure. // 5) Mode of Death: Cardiac and
Respiratory Arrest. --- <Insert 3 More Rynkan Names Here: Rynkans
#3, #4, and #5> Sex: Male x3 // 1) Cause of Death: Full Arrest
secondary to Respiratory Arrest caused by Unidentified Toxin. // 2)
Mechanism of Death: Unidentified Toxin - apparently with the ability
to mutate and become airborne. It is theorized that this toxin is
synthetic, but no distinct proof has been identified. This toxin
literally filled the lungs, coating the lining with a chalky, white
residue visible upon autopsy. The amount of toxin found in the lungs
indicates that it reproduces rapidly and is able to cause full
respiratory arrest within minutes. At this point, there is no
treatment for this toxin. However, further research will be conducted
regarding its nature. // 3) Manner of Death: Undetermined. // 4)
Immediate Cause of Death: Pleural Hemorrhage. // 5) Mode of Death:
Respiratory Arrest. // The first Rynkan remains under sedation in the
infirmary, but appears to be improving. If his improvement continues,
I will begin decreasing his sedatives over the next two days in order
to allow him more hours of wakefulness and an opportunity for other
staff and myself to question him further regarding the incident.
Further questions may be directed to me.

Job #8 has been

During watch in Operations we began to pick up three distress
signals. One was from a fleet of Tierians near where the borders
between the UFP Romulans and Klingons meet. The second was from a
fleet of Rynkans near bak'TUR. The third was from a Romulan freighter
on its way to Dulcais Prime. Apparently two Teirian ships were
surrounded by four Rynkan ships near the borders and four Rynkan ships
were surrounded by six Teirian ships near bak'TUR. And three Teirian
ships and two Rynkan ships were near the Romulan freighter. We
contacted the Rynkans who were sending a distress call first but they
refused our offer of mediation. So I decided that we should
concentrate on the Romulan freighter. We scrambled our runabouts and
sent them to lend assistance. Unfortunately their ETA was a half an
hour and anything could happen in that amount of time. So we hailed
the Teirians in the vicinity of the Romulans and warned them about
harming the Romulan citizens as the Romulan Empire would likely
respond. But they were more preoccupied with their battle. After
signaling the Romulans to do their best to avoid the firefight until
our runabouts could get there a Romulan vessel decloaked and
presumably as our sensors only registered a disappearance of the ships
destroyed the Tierian and Rynkan combatants threatening their
freighter. We contacted the Romulans who didn't seem to have a problem
with having killed so many people and cited the fact that we did warn
them. There wasn't much we could say to that. The transmission ended
and the Romulan vessel cloaked while their merchant resumed course to
Dulcais. At the time we noticed that the Rynkans from near bak'TUR
were on a parallel course with the Romulans. We kept a close eye on
them and ordered our runabouts to shadow the freighter until it
arrived safely but the Rynkans didn't seem interested in it. They left
soon after.

To: Dulcais Sector Starfleet Intelligence Office, Dulcais
CC: Commander Balin, Starbase 419-Upsilon
Re: The Planet Occa
Sirs,
On Stardate 52471.8 I was assigned as the combat weapons specialist
to the Mission to the planet Occa under the command of Lt. Commander
Michael Edwards (Executive Officer Starbase 419-U). Also on the
mission were Mission Cultural Specialist Ensign Eliara Zian and
Special Agent Mycroft Duncan of the Department of Temporal
Investigations.
After successfully gaining the surface of the planet in the City of
New Miami, the mission team proceeded in undercover attire to a bar
called "Grix's". At Commander Edwards directive before
entering, we entered seperately with Special Agent Duncan going first,
followed by myself, and then Ensign Zian and Commander Edwards as a
couple. I utilized the cover of the restroom to gain an immediate area
energy weapons scan, discovering one 23rd century styled phaser in the
hands of a man who would later be identified as Grix, the owner of the
same named club. I passed this information along to Ensign Zian via
her Betazoid ability to pick up our surface thoughts. Commander
Edwards got into a heated discussion with the bartender who is later
identified as Sam and Grix and was told to leave before the
authorities were forced to be involved. We all departed under our own
various covers. The streets of the city were under intense
surveillance, so much so that after I had been sure I had found a
location in what I thought was an alley to perform another energy
scan, I was in fact standing directly in front of a camera with my
tricorder as was revealed to myself by Special Agent Duncan. Through
the medium of telepathy, Ensign Zian was able to establish contact
with our Contact, who was in fact the same Grix that had directed
Commander Edwards to leave not a quarter of an hour before. We
returned to the club in a circumspect manner, knocking on the rear
alley door as the club was closed.
Inside, our host explained that he was in fact an offworlder who
had been on the planet to close an arms deal when the
"revolution" had trapped him on the surface. I believe this
is the same arms deal that Desmond Jones mentioned to myself that he
was allegedly negotiating between the Klingons and former Occan
government. He then made his list of requirements for his assisting
Starfleet on Occa, mainly through his already established network of
informants and local muscle. He had little personal information about
what forces the Dominion might have in the line of starships in the
area or landed on the planet. Ensign Zian seemed extremely leery of
his true motives, particularly after he sent a local informant to the
New Florida Military Police to be busted just to pass along to his
contact there that we were around for him to come and visit.
Grix's contact, and now ours, in the NFMP is Captain Renauld.
Renauld stated his terms for assistance, he expects an underground
railroad to be established to smuggled thousands of Occans off the
planet in lots of up to 20. He also seemed adverse to any talk of a
structured insurrection. Once he started telling us his information
though, he was detailed and to the point lending definite credibiilty.
First of all, he specified there are 10,000 Jem'Hedar on the surface,
with at least one Vorta supervisor, meaning they have 370 Dominion
Companies on the surface. He also said there was another 20 in the
Cloning Facility, I'd wager it is actually 27 which implies it is a
Dominion Control Zone. Other control zones seem to be around a factory
outside the city, and various government buildings around the capital
and across the planet. The civilian populous is unaware of the
presence of the Jem'Hedar at this point, believing that their former
government was overthrown in a military coup and has installed a
police state. That the govenment in exile did in fact flee to Starbase
419 and that the current government is actually the catspaw of the
Dominion removes in my mind any question of our moral authority to
assist the beleagured peoples of this planet under our current
articles of war and the Prime Directive. I believe that the key
controlled areas could be taken by strikes from Rapid Response teams
and or Romulan Special Operation forces, but this will not address the
fullness of the occupational force. Without the benefit of a popular
uprising in support of liberation it seems that an entire Regiment of
Starfleet Ground Forces will be required to have even a chance to take
down the Dominion presence with any confidence -- and this will still
require some sort of commando operation to disable the planetary
shields prior to a mass landing and the resources to take and hold a
beach head during the deployment of the ground forces.
In addition to the Jem'Hedar, Captain Renauld also stated that
there are 5,000 Siinogans on the planet assisting the Dominion in
their operations there. This will surely be important to the Klingons
as this will invalidate the previous ruling by Starfleet Command that
Bak'Tur falling to the Siinogans is a purely internal Klingon matter
and not business for the alliance. On the bright side of this, the
presence of the Siinogans and what it implies regarding Bak'Tur also
gives strong probability to my thoughts anyway that the Klingons will
be willing to give us aid in an assault on the Occan system, if not
directly from the KDF at least from the house fleets and allies of the
Klingons who once ruled on Bak'Tur.
Considering the numbers and resources of the Dominion presence on
Occa, from the number of existing troops, the cloning facilities and
the suspected Ketrecel White manufacturing facilities, it seems
evident that the Dominion is building up for a major push in this
sector. The logical next step would be the Andorian colony of Fimdari
as control of that would give the Dominion and their Siinogan allies
control of the entire lower half of the sector and put them in a
strong position to assault Starbase 419 again with confidence of
capture or destruction. Considering the importance of the Anamoly, my
recommendation is to start immediately planning the commando raids and
a major fleet incursion into the system to drive the Dominion back out
of the Sector, followed by an Starfleet Interdiction of Siinoga and
plans to retake Bak'Tur. The Andorians on Fimdari should be advised to
increase their state of alertness, and if possible the ADF should be
directed to increase their presence and coordinate with the Alliance
fleet in the area for this mission. I also advise that a Starfleet
evaluation team be sent to Fimdari to search for signs of Dominion or
Siinogan scouting in preparation of an invasion, including looking
into the activities of any Occans on the planet as refugees.
Captain Renauld specifically mentioned that he and his fellow
police were being trained to spot Betazoids, the implications of this
are left to your minds to determine.
In conclusion, based on my experience in planetary operations and
special operations missions it is my recommendation that Star Fleet
Command begin immediate plans for the active deterranc

After receiving our orders, I led a small team consisting of DTI
Agent Duncan, Lieutenant JG Golden, and Ensign Zian to the capital of
the planet Occa, New Florida, via the artifact to engage in a
fact-finding mission. I didn't inform my team of the more specific
assignment I received, which was to locate a restauranteer by the name
of Grix. Once we arrived in New Florida, Agent Duncan located the
restaurant for me, and led us to it. After we arrived, I
unsuccessfully tried to make contact with the owner. Apparently, I'm
not as sneaky as I thought I was. After being directed to leave the
establishment, I ordered Zian to telepathically contact Grix and tell
him that some friends were there to see him. That cleared up, he
invited us to return via the back entrance in a half-an-hour, once
everything was closed up. Once we returned, we spoke with Grix and his
bartender, Sam, and learned that they were born sympathetic to us and
anti-Dominion. Through them, we were introduced to a local police
officer named Renauld, who felt the same way. Renauld provided us with
most of our information, including the fact that most Occans have no
clue that their government is in league with the Dominion, and the
fact that there are cloning facilities on the planet a mysterious
factory outside the city that's being run by the Siinogan. He didn't
know anything else about the factory, but I suspect it has something
to do with ketracel white. While we talked, Grix and Renauld made it
known that they didn't hand out information for free, asking that we
start an underground railroad to transport several Occans off of Occa.
I agreed to this deal. Grix has allowed us to use the basement in his
establishment for transporting people. Once everything was settled, we
transported home.

Job #39 has been

This evening, a medical emergency in the Infirmary necessitated
lowering the containment field around our patient. However, there was
a lapse before a second containment field was erected around the
Infirmary, allowing some contaminated air to pass beyond the
Infirmary's doors. At that time, I placed the Infirmary under
quarantine to prevent further contamination, but was later reminded of
the lapse between fields. As a result, the station has been placed
under quarantine per Starfleet Protocol while Medical Personnel
examine the station for signs of contamination with the contagion
affecting the Infirmary's patient. As a result, no one may dock at the
station, and no one currently present may leave. I am hopeful that
this will be fully resolved within forty-eight hours, and offer my
apologies to those inconvenienced by this quarantine. I offer
assurances that no one currently on the station should be affected by
the contagion, but I cannot offer the same assurances for anyone else
who may come in contact with the current residents of the station. Do
not panic. Everyone currently on board is entirely safe. But, I wish
to assure the safety of any potential new arrivals and visitors before
lowering the quarantine. Again, this matter should be resolved within
forty-eight hours, and I apologize for any inconveniences caused in
the meantime. Questions and concerned may be addressed to me.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Comments from Clough: The station has been examined thoroughly, as
well as all occupants, by in depth sensor sweeps. All scans have
turned up no remaining sign of the contagion we were searching for. At
this time, I am officially removing the station's quarantine status.
All traffic may come and go per normal. However, I strongly recommend
that all vessels - most especially any Rynkan or Teirian vessels -
approaching the station be similarly scanned for traces of the
contagion or any similar contagion. Although the station may be clean
now, we still have no definitive treatment should it become infected
again. I would like to thank everyone for their patience and
understanding while the station has been in quarantine. Any further

potential locations of the toxin that recently took the lives of

the most recent mutations have been uploaded to everyone's PADD. The
scanning is to be done in shifts with small groups assigned to each
location on the station. Residents should be scanned as well as places
in case anyone is carrying the toxin even if they are not affected by
it. In the meantime, because the quarantine has grown to encompass the
entire station, the quarantine on the infirmary itself has been
lifted, allowing those currently within it to depart and assist in
these scans. Should any toxin be discovered, I am to be informed

Lt. Ghorev, since I feel discussing details regarding the toxin
should not be conducted in a format available to all residents on the
station, I am creating a separate report to continue this discussion
in a more private format. The toxin being sought on the station is
indeed the same one we have been researching since the first Rynkans
lost their lives to it. However, we have already seen the toxin mutate
from what initially was an airborne toxin to one that infected and
replicated in the lungs. Although it remained airborne in
transmission, that mutation alone made it impossible to treat without
destroying the host. Most recently, we have encountered a warped
version of this toxin - warped presumably by Mr. Treyvan's immune
system - that has been made inert in an unknown fashion. Although this
last case cannot be specifically considered a natural mutation, I
would ask only the time to further analyze every form of this toxin we
have seen and make it available to you in Engineering before using the
station's sensors to search for and identify any remaining toxin. All
of this information should be available to you within the next few

Comments from Clough: I offer my thanks to all who assisted in

rapidly. Lt. P'Trell, I will be continuing my study of the toxin as
well as the antibodies recently discovered in Mr. Treyvan's system. I

Completed report #26 (Panar
Gurdek
|
Thu Jul 25
|
Job #26 has been
completed by Ghorev:
Earlier this evening, sensors picked up a Federation shuttlecraft,
the USS Darwin, approaching the station from the direction of the
Romulan Neutral Zone. We hailed the Darwin and opened a communications
channel, but damage to the shuttle caused an inordinate amount of
interference, and we were unable to speak with its occupant. Once the
shuttle made it into transporter range, we beamed the occupant
directly to Ops. It was a Cardassian that asked for asylum and
identified himself as Panar Gurdek, a Cardassian civilian and author
of 'The Unwavering Truth' and 'Freedom From Tyranny', two works that
criticized the Cardassian military and were written during the Detapa
Council's rule on Cardassia. He claimed that he fled the Jem'Hadar
occupation of Cardassia and met up with the crew of the Darwin in the
Badlands. While on their way to rendezvous with another ship, they
were ambushed by the Jem'Hadar and spent the next five months in
Romulan space, trying to evade destruction. He also claims that the
Starfleet officers he was with died along the way. I had the Darwin
tractored in and sent an engineering team to look it over, to confirm
what they could of his story, and informed him that he would be
assigned quarters and put under house arrest pending further
investigation.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Comments from Ghorev: We have verified Panar Gurdek's identity to
our utmost ability. Given his behavior since arriving, we should keep
the occasional eye on him, but otherwise have no reason to refrain
from believing his identity.
