Ancient Shadows

Anomaly TrekMUX Episode - #02-019

Evans steps into the shuttle bay, the doors clanging shut behind him.

Dakin steps into the shuttle bay, the doors clanging shut behind him.

Dakin walks into the room, a Type-2 phaser and tricorder clipped to his belt. "'Evening, Mark. I was only able to spare Leah, hope that's enough."

Evans says "Sure."

McAnally steps into the shuttle bay, the doors clanging shut behind her.

Evans nods. "And heres Lt. McAnnaly. She'll be our pilot." He frowns in thought about Leah though. "Well I'll guess this will do. Commander Gerok might be coming. Im unsure though."

Dakin nods once to McAnally then turns back to Evans. "Sounds good."

McAnally arrives, nodding respectfully to those gathered. To Evans, she says, "I'm flattered, Sir, but as yet remain an Ensign."

Evans looks embarrassed. "Sorry. Have a lot on my mind."

Leah steps into the shuttle bay, the doors clanging shut behind her.

Evans is waiting by the shuttle with the other two.

Dakin looks over and nods to Leah as she enters. "Ensign, thanks for joining us."

Leah approaches with an amiable smile on her face, she gives Dakin a wink before nodding to the other two officers. "Thanks for inviting me along, sirs."

McAnally grins just a trifle at Evans, then greets Leah. "Hello, Ensign. And congratulations. Haven't seen you since your graduation."

Evans smiles at the group. "Well everyone. We can skip Gerok for the briefing. He has much the same detail as I do."

Dakin gives Leah a slight grin, then turns to Evans for the briefing.

McAnally turns her attention towards Evan, standing relaxedly with hands clasped behind her back.

Leah smiles back at McAnally before turning to look at Evans, eyes and ears open.

Dakin silently shakes his head, then looks to the other two for their response.

McAnally follows suit, adding "No, Sir" quietly.

Gerok steps into the shuttle bay, the doors clanging shut behind him.

Evans stands in front of the others giving a briefing. He stands to attention when he sees Gerok. "Commander. Im glad to see you have arrived."

Dakin turns and nods to Gerok. "'Evening, Commander."

Leah nods her head, "How long will we be gone, sir?" She turns as she sees Evans turn and nods to Gerok, straightening her posture. "Sir."

Gerok nods to Dakin and Leah, then motions to Evans, "Please continue with the briefing, Mister Evans."

Evans frowns. "A few days at most. We are just investigating the place. Hopefully a full team can be sent later." He sighs.

Dakin nods. "Any preliminaries as far as lifesigns, potential risks, and so forth?"

McAnally takes this minute during the conversation to do something quickly on her PADD.

McAnally taps something into her pad.

Evans shakes his head. "Unfortunately the Freighter sensors were not that good. They showed no lifesigns on the planet however. The palanet is not the focus of this dig. The orbital is."

Evans looks to the Commander. "Well we should be going soon. We dont want to be away from the station to long right Commander?" He ask Gerok.

Leah quiets down after first question and clasps her hands behind her back, apparently ready to get underway.

Dakin reveals his Tricorder.

McAnally reveals her Tricorder.

Gerok nods and looks to the gathered officers, "Very well. Please assemble all necessary gear and prepare to depart."

Everyone boards the USS Amazon

Flight Deck - USS Amazon - [IC](#1232RIM)

The forward cockpit area of the runabout is done in a tan color scheme, with blue-grey flooring on the deck. There are seats for a four-person flight crew, each of which are grey and mounted on a boxy swivel base. The two forward consoles installed beneath the twin main viewports have identical console configurations; these are both flight control consoles. There are two consoles directly aft on either side of the flight consoles. The portside aft console is equipped for control of the ship's tactical systems, while the console at starboard gives access to the ship's engineering systems. At the aft of the cockpit are a two-personnel transporter unit and archway access to the runabout's mission-specific compartments and living area. Mounted on either side of the archway are storage racks containing Starfleet-issue Type-2 phasers.

McAnally asks Evans, "Permission to take the controls, Sir?"

Evans gets on board and sits in one of the Mission command stations. "Of course Ensign. Take us away when everyone is seated please."

McAnally sits down at Pilot.

Gerok sits down at Mission Command.

Gerok looks to Dakin, "Mister Dakin, please take Tactical."

Dakin nods to Gerok and heads for said console. "Aye, sir."

Dakin sits down at Tactical.

Leah finds an empy seat, coincidentally engineering.

Leah sits down at Engineering.

Evans finds an extra seat out back.

Gerok nods, "Mister McAnally, request clearance and take us out."

McAnally nods, "Aye Sir." Raising her voice, "USS Amazon to Ops." A brief conversation with Ops occurs, during which the Amazon is cleared for departure, and the runabout glides out of the shuttlebay doors.

Fast forward to arrival in the Marcedan system

As the runabout enters the sector, the small Type G star's glow can be seen in the distance, along with a smaller planet. The focus of this expedition appears on the forward viewscreen and looms into view. A class M planet, covered in white, traces of blue, and the deep browns of mountains. In orbit around the planet rests the orbital. A long, tubular affair. Aside from the rounded 'head' of the object, all that remains of the large orbital is the inner supports and outward spans, making it appear as a skeleton as the runabout approaches.

Leah looks forwards from her spot at engineering, she just ran a quick check of the ship's systems, for something to do.

Evans sits in the back reading an honest to goodness book.

Dakin looks to Gerok. "Permission to run a sensor scan, sir?"

McAnally slows the runabout to half impulse as the orbital begins to dominate the main viewer.

Gerok nods to Dakin, "Proceed."

Gerok looks to Evans, "Mister Evans, please assist Mister Dakin with the sensor scans."

Evans puts his book down and proceeds to the station. He looks at the scans trying to see something that Dakin cannot.

Dakin taps a few commands into his console and reads back his findings. "Heavy traces of trillium ore in the object's structure... other ores probably indigenous to the planet... and it is _very_ old from the look of the metallurgical profiles..."

McAnally adjusts the runabout's speed. "Matching orbit with orbital, Sir," she tells Gerok. The runabout proceeds to encircle the planet with the satellite, a good view of which is now displayed on the screen.

Leah leans forward in her seat a bit, looking at the image of the station. It's like nothing she's ever seen before.

Gerok nods in response to McAnally's report before looking back to Dakin, "Any signs of defensive systems, Mister Dakin?"

As the runabout closes in on the orbital, a better view of it can be seen. While it appears aged, it does not appear to have been damaged in any way. No marks, no burns, not even what appears to be a sharp edge. As if it had been..dismantled piece by piece and neatly packed away.

Evans looks at the scan. "Is there a way to see how the trillium is aged? Hmm...Thats weird. It looks hardly old at all..." Looks up from the scanners. "Sir. I suggest we scan for any other ships."

Dakin shakes his head after running a supplementary tactical scan. "Negative, sir. There are a number of simple scanners, but no weapons at all."

Gerok says "Are there any other vessels in the vicinity, Mister Dakin?"

Dakin switches over the interface to the runabout's long range sensors. "That's a negative as well, Commander. We're the only ones out here."

Gerok nods, "Very well. Mister McAnally, take us to transporter range."

Evans frowns. "I dont like this. No age...By all rights that station should be a partial wreck..."

McAnally brings the runabout to within forty thousand kilometers of the orbital's skeletal remains. "We are within transporter range, Commander."

Gerok looks over to Evans, "That is why we are here, Mister Evans. Prepare to transport to the orbital. Mister Dakin, find a safe place to transport."

Dakin nods as he already begins scanning the orbital for a good beam-in zone. "Aye, sir."

Evans whispers to Dakin, "Could you try scanning the planet as well? There might be a surface installation of some kind as well."

Gerok looks over at Evans, "If you have something to say, Mister Evans, please feel free speak freely.

Leah stirs in her seat. Looking to Gerok, she says, "If we need to make sure there is nothing... dangerous inside that thing, perhaps I could scout...." She goes quiet as Gerok speaks to Evans.

Evans looks back to the Commander. "Just making a suggestion to Lt. Dakin sir. Scanning the planet might give us a few clues as well."

Gerok nods to Evans, "Outstanding suggestion, Mister Evans. Mister Dakin, make it so." Moves over and picks up a tricorder, "We will be going together, Mister Leah. I will allow any member of the crew to take a risk that I myself would not be willing to take."

Dakin frowns. "Nothing conclusive, Mark. I am however detecting localized traces of trillium ore and other trace metals I scanned from the orbital near the mountains of the western hemisphere. As far as your beam-in zone goes, Commander, the bulbous end portion seems to be our only option. Also, I'm reading a zero atmosphere, so I recommend EVA suits."

Gerok stands and leaves Mission Command.

Gerok says "Very good, Mister Dakin. Don EVA suits and prepare to beam over."

Evans nods. "Of course sir. Some of us should stay here though? I was thinking a beam down to the planet to investigate the trace elements might be in order as well?"

Dakin nods and rises from his seat. "Aye, sir." After which he heads into the aft compartment where the suits are kept.

Dakin stands and leaves Tactical.

McAnally looks up at Gerok at Evans' comments, as if she were thinking the same thing. "I can stay on the Amazon," she volunteers.

"Aye, sir." Leah stands from her seat and heads for the aft compartment with Dakin.

Gerok shakes his head, "We'll investigate the orbital first and then proceed to the planet's surface if needed."

Evans nods. "Of course sir."

Gerok looks to the rear of the Runabout, "Mister Random, you will remain behind and monitor the away team."

McAnally stands as someone else is appointed monitor, and goes to the rear of the vessel to don an EVA suit.

McAnally stands and leaves Pilot.

Leah stands and leaves Engineering.

Evans puts on his suit.

A nondescript Ensign comes from the back with a nod to Gerok. "Aye sir. I'll maintain transporter locks on the team as well."

Dakin comes back into the front compartment fully suited-up, with his phaser mag-locked to a waist clamp.

McAnally reveals her Type I Phaser.

Leah manages to put her EVA suit on with some zeal, checking her seals twice before following Dakin to the cockpit.

Gerok moves to the back of the Runabout to suit up, returning to check on the other members of the Away Team.

Dakin nods to Gerok as he locks his helmet in place. "Ready to go, sir."

McAnally is the last to get all suited up, donning her helmet as Dakin speaks. She moves to stand near the security chief and Leah, ready for transport.

Gerok quickly double checks the integrity of all the suits before ordering the transport.

Evans walks over to be transported.

Dakin steps up onto the transporter pad.

Leah takes her place, waiting to be transported.

Gerok moves up to the platform. "Engergize."

Ensign Dray, our hero of the day, nods to the team. "Energizing.." And the team dissapears in a haze of sparkles to arrive within the rounded head of the old station.

Aboard the Orbital..

Before you are the darkened remains of what was once the control room of the station. Very old computer terminals line the walls of the cirucular object. There is no power of course. And no disorder..it appears as if the station was left in an orderly fashion. The computer terminals contain glyphs of an ancient language. There are no signs of a power source evident, and the consoles and surroundings appear to have been in disuse for a very long time.

Gerok looks about as transport is completed. "Mister Evans, see if you can decipher those glyphs. Mister Dakin, you and Mister McAnally scan for security systems. Mister McAnally, please see if you can locate a means of powering the computer systems.

Evans walks over and starts to make something of the glyphs,

McAnally unholsters her tricorder and tries a scan for anything that might've been a power source.

Leah permits herself a brief, "Wow," before she heads forward, taking out her tricorder and scanning for any defensive mechanisms.

Leah reveals her Tricorder.

Gerok taps his combade, "Mister Dray, please beam over the emergency generator from the Amazon."

Evans frowns. "I dont even know if they would be compatible sir. Some of this equipment is ancient. The glyphs date back to Surak."

A small emergency generator appears in a shower of transporter affects, in unision with Dray's voice echoing, "Done Sir."

Leah gently brushes at one console in particular, noting a diagram there. "Looks like this may be some sort of shield control, sir." She indicates the console she stands by before glancing around the area at the others.

Gerok pauses for a moment, "Also beam over an Engineering Kit."

McAnally's scans lead her to a panel in the floor. Lifting its grate, she passes the tricorder over it and says, "Commander. I detect no power source, but this seems to be where the power conduits fed in from below, and branched off into other stations."

"Acknowledged, Commander." Dray's voice feeds through the communicator, and the kit arrives next to the generator.

Gerok motions McAnally to the Generator, "If I could have your assistance?"

McAnally reholsters her tricorder, and joins Gerok beside the recently beamed-down equipment.

Gerok and McAnally drag the generator over to the conduits.

Gerok begins to work on powering the computer core.

Dakin walks the perimeter of the room, checking for any undue surprises that could possibly befall them.

McAnally assists Gerok as best she can, not being adept with this sort of thing.

CONTEST Gerok (claiming advantage) contests his Shipboard Systems skill vs a difficulty of Difficult and Succeeds!

Gerok begins to hook up the conduits to the generator, attaching a power converter to the whole affair. He uses a low power setting and slowly adjusts the converter, closly monitoring his tricorder to ensure he doesn't overpower the system.

Evans still studies the glyphs trying to make sense of it all.

The power center hums to life slowly. Gradually a few systems come online within the control room. Faint lights over the consoles iluminate the stations a bit, including the defensive shield station. One system activates a computer center with an actual working readout, although everything is in that same ancient language.

Gerok looks up. "Mister Evans, attempt to interface your tricorder with the computer center and download everything you can."

"Looks like we've got shields... though, I wouldn't want to test them, sir." Leah says as the shield console illuminates. She grins, then looks for the next nearest lit up station.

Gerok continues to monitor the system for power fluctuations.

Dakin blinks as he watches the place come to life, then continues his circuit of the room more throughly now that he has more light to work with.

Evans does so. He pulls out his tricorder and begins to work.

McAnally aids Gerok when applicable, or otherwise watches his efforts.

Evans starts trying different simple commands into the ancient computers. Trying to find a key to the systems.

CONTEST Evans contests his Personal Equipment (Tricorder) skill vs a difficulty of Moderate and Succeeds!

Leah wanders over by Dakin, smiling through her helmet at him. "Anything of particular interest, Lieutenant?... I haven't found much aside from what appears to be a shielding system."

Gerok continues monitoring the power system.

Evans finds a basic routine and starts downloading files.

Dakin smiles back at Leah and shakes his head. "No, just making sure nothing in ths room's gonna jump out at us now that we've got power."

The lights flicker here and there, indicating that the ancient systems may not be quite up to holding power for any length of time.

McAnally watches Gerok for a another moment, still crouching by the generator, before noting, "The power seems to be fairly stable. Is there anything else you want to get tricorder readings of before we go?"

Gerok nods, but doesn't look up from his tricorder. "Please scan the area for traces of DNA, Mister McAnally."

CONTEST McAnally contests her Personal Equipment (Tricorder) skill vs a difficulty of Difficult and Fails!

Gerok looks up to Evans, "Progress, Mister Evans?"

Evans frowns. "I seem to able to download the program. What information it contains I have no idea."

Gerok nods, "Get what information you can and then disconnect. We'll power down the systems and then beam down to the planet." He looks up to McAnally, "Anything, Mister McAnally?"

Within her helmet, McAnally shakes her head regretfully. "Nothing, Commander."

Gerok slowly powers down the system and disconnects the generator. He has the generator beamed back to the Amazon.

Evans finishes his download and starts to disconnect from the alien computer.

Gerok hits his combadge, "Mister Dray, anything to report?"

From Gerok's combadge, Dray's voice echos into the vacuum. "I'm performing scans of the planet Sir. There is that matching trace of Trillium near the western mountains..I'm doing a scan of the mountain range now. The planet is a standard oxygen atmosphere..breathable, but very cold."

Dakin closes his tricorder as their presence here will likely come to an end soon.

Leah puts away her tricorder as well, taking a final look around the place out of curiousity.

Gerok says "Very well, Mister Dray. Beam us back to the Amazon. Prepare Extreme Cold Weather clothing for us and then we'll beam to the source of the Tirillium.""

Gerok looks around, "If we're finished here, prepare to transport."

Dakin nods to Gerok and clamps his tricorder to the mag-lock on his suit.

McAnally clusters in nearer to the others in preparation for transport.

Gerok says "Mister Dray, Energize."

"Acknowledged Sir." Dray's voice echos once again. A few minutes later, the team is transported back aboard the Amazon, where the afor mentioned gear is laid out.

Gerok pulles Leah away from the rest of the away team as everyone dons the ECW gear.

McAnally dutifully dons.

Dakin wastes little time removing his helmet and then the rest of his suit and heads in the back to stow it away before coming back to get dressed for the cold.

Evans changes gear and wonders what new wonders he'll encounter.

Gerok whispers to Leah, "Mister Leah, I would like you to remain on board while we are on the surface. I prefer to have you here watching the sensors."

Leah is pulling off her gear with the others when she is pulled aside. She nods to Gerok and says, "Aye, sir." Giving a final nod to the others, she heads towards the tactical station, greeting Ensign Dray while she's at it.

Gerok nods and dons his gear. He quickly moves to the transporter pad to await transport.

Dray nods to Leah breifly, and returns to his scans. "Sir..further scans of the mountains near that site show some kind of heat source inside. I cant get any readings beyond that. The make of the mountains themselves mask everything else."

McAnally stows away her EVA suit in its compartment, and joins Gerok at the pad.

Dakin finishes getting his gear on, then at hearing the news from Dray, checks the charge on his phaser before meeting Gerok on the transport pad.

Evans walks onto the padd as well.

Gerok says "Mister Dray, energize."

"Aye Sir." The team dematerializes a moment later to reappear on the planet's icy surface.

On the Planet Marceda's surface...

Stretched out before you is a white blanket of snow, undisturbed by footprints or other markings. Standing alone, a white covered object that appears metallic in nature, appears at the base of the mountains just beyond. Openings at various points along the mountain side can be seen, each with a series of carved steps leading up from the icy ground. Farther down, there appears a break between the craggy cliffs, and a sturdy metal bridge extends between a smooth plateu at each side

Gerok quickly scans the area, "Mister Evans, locate the Tirillium please."

Evans pulls out his tricorder and starts scanning.

Dakin pulls out his own tricorder and scans the object and its surroundings for lifesigns.

McAnally hangs back, looking around a bit warily until the scans are completed.

Evans looks at the readings. "THe large metalic object. THe one covered in snow sir."

Gerok nods, "Mister Dakin, take the point please. Move out toward the object."

Dakin pulls out his phaser. "Aye, sir." He begins to trudge through the snow.

As you get closer, the object appears to loom in size. It is large, bulky, and covered entirely in layers of ice and snow, though it's makup makes it appear darker than the ground.

Gerok runs a scan of the object, attempting to determine what exactly it is.

Evans looks at the Monolith. "Perhaps a lowyield phaser blast could melt some ice sir?"

Gerok nods to Dakin and points to an area on the left side. "Level 2 should be sufficient, Mister Dakin. Right there."

Dakin nods. "Aye, sir." He makes the necessary adjustments to his phaser, aims it, and thumbs the trigger, sending the low-power energy beam streaking towards the area Gerok indicated.

McAnally asks Gerok, "I don't know much about Tirillium, Sir. Has it only been found on Vulcan before now?"

As the beam strikes the surface and spreads, the ice melts and clears from a full side of the object. It now becomes obvious from the exposed area, that it is indeed the section of a very old ship. Some glyphs on the side are visible, though worn, that match those of the station above.

Gerok nods in response to McAnally's query. "That is true, Mister McAnally. The ore is one native to Vulcan only."

Evans looks at the old ship. "Perhaps no longer."

McAnally takes a step forward. "Or that's a portion of a Vulcan ship."

Dakin stops firing and peers at the object. "Question is, did this chunk of it crash here or was it placed here deliberately? The orbiting section looked like was dismantled, not broken."

Gerok looks a little more closely at the writing. "If it crashed here, it is unlikely that it would still be intact."

Evans looks at a rune trying to decipher its meaning. "And what happened to all the Vulcans..." He wonders aloud.

McAnally shivers just a little bit, looking around the icy landscape.

CONTEST Gerok contests his Language: Bajoran (Vulcan) skill vs a difficulty of Moderate and Succeeds!

Evans looks at the old writing and reads it out loud not knowing exactly what he is saying.

Dakin blinks and turns to Evans. "Mark, you can read that?"

Gerok raises an eyebrow, "It translates to, "The Children of Ket-cheleb." He looks to Evans, "Referring to those who left Vulcan during the Awakening."

McAnally takes her own look at the writing, though merely for curiosity's sake. "They did not embrace a logical existence?"

Gerok shakes his head, "No. They rejected logic and clung to the old belief systems. Knowing that many Vulcans would accept Surak's teachings, they left Vulcan to settle elsewhere."

Evans nods. "Much like the Romulans. Though not as harsh I belive."

Dakin frowns. "That has me wondering still about Lt. Evans' question, Commander... what happened to the crew?"

Gerok says "In many way, they were more harsh than the Romulans. Pre-Awakening Vulcan was a savage place, where position and power were determined by brute stength."

Gerok looks toward the bridge into the mountains, "Perhaps our answer lies this way."

McAnally lifts a freckled hand to shield her eyes from a frigid gust of wind, and peers up towards the mountain. "A lee might provide a decent place for a settlement."

Gerok motions to Dakin, "Lead the way, Mister Dakin.

Evans follows behind the others looking at the monolith one more time.

McAnally falls in step in the center of the group.

At the top of the carved steps a bit later....

Dark recesses stretch beyond the where the outside light cannot reach. You stand on a rocky plateu, inside an obviously hollowed out cave. Imbedded into the rock, a deactivated computer panel that appears to have been removed from the ancient generation ship ouside. Glyphs mark the controls in ancient scrypt.

Gerok attempts to decipher the scrypt and gain entry.

Evans does as well.

The glyphs are in ancient Vulcan. Slightly beyond inside the opening, is a set of heavy doors.

Dakin takes a palm beacon out of his parka and aims it towards the doors.

Gerok enters a few commands on the panel.

Gerok says "Mister Dakin, scan for defensive devices."

The power comes up and the lights activate. The door is illuminated by soft lighting imbedded into the cave cieling above it. It appears to be sensor operated.

Dakin nods and pulls out his tricorder. "Aye, sir..." He begins scanning...

Dakin shakes his head. "None that I can detect, Commander."

Evans watches the others probe the cave opening.

Gerok nods, "Proceed inside. Mister Dakin, you have the point."

Dakin nods to Gerok as he once again pulls out his phaser and makes his way to the door. "Aye, sir."

The doors part, and you are assailed by a rush of warm air. Within, the cave's antechamber is bathed in a redish glow.

Gerok looks about the room for an exit to proceed deeper inside. "Scan for lifeforms."

The doors slide apart with a heavy rumble. Inside, a whole different world resides. The cave walls have been covered by some smooth reflective surface similar to glass. The antechamber itself is bathed in a warm, red glow. In stark contrast to the icy cold outside, here it is almost oppressively warm. A soft thrum emanates from below. Moving forward, you come to a crisscross of paths and catwalks..a single catwalk extends forward across what looks like a circular pit, surrounded by heavy railing. At the other end of the catwalk is another set of doors set into the wall. To the right and left, a smoothed path leads down into another cave, well lit, and each with another antechamber beyond.

Below the catwalk, several feet below, is a screen of some kind. The walls are lined with structures of heavy metals built into them, as if this 'city' as it were, were built from below in a circular hollow up through the depths of the mountain. The column extends upward several hundred feet as well. The heat emanates from below.

The other set of doors open into an elevator. It goes down to the lower depths of the chamber. If one goes down, they would enter the power center, where power from the planet's core is funneled into chambers throughout the hollowed out 'city', providing power and heat.

Evans looks astonished at all the work. "Sir...I think we solved our mystery...Now it looks like a first contact..."

McAnally gawks in amazement, naturally, pulling back the hood of her heavy coat in the oppressive heat, and looking around while Dakin scans.

Dakin shakes his head to Evans as he opens his parka up a bit in response to the heat. "Only if there were lifeforms, Mark, and I'm not picking up any..."

McAnally says "That makes sense. If they were still here, they wouldn't have disassembled their orbital. Looks like they just... packed up and left."

Gerok unzips his own parka as he looks about. "Agreed. Perhaps we should attempt to find the control room. Mister Dakin, we'll take the lift as far up as we can go and then work our way down."

Evans nods. "Yes sir. Sorry. The excitement of it all."

Dakin nods to Gerok and makes his way to the lift. "Aye, sir."

McAnally gets ready to go up in the lift, too.

Evans gets in the lift.

Gerok follows Dakin to the lift and tries to read the symbols on the inside.

There are two levels above this one. TThe upper level is a series of rooms all joined together by sliding doors. The temperature is much cooler here, away from the core heat from below, and vented from the outside. The largest of the rooms contains what appears to be a massive computer chamber. It is a mixture of primitive construction and high tech science.

Another room, very similar to the first but without the huge mainframe computer, appears to be a library. Very neatly packed, as if things had been put into storage. Several heavy storage crates line the walls.

Dakin looks about the room. "Seems odd that someone would go to all this trouble to build this place and just leave it all... wonder what's in those boxes over there..." He scans the boxes.

McAnally pipes up, going in another direction with her tricorder, "Maybe analyzing the files from the orbital will give us a clue what happened."

Evans nods. "It doesnt seem likely that we will get all the answers in one night."

Gerok moves over toward the mainframe, attempting to see if it still functioning.

The mainframe, like all of the other terminals, has been not only powered down, but partially disasembled as well.

Dakin nods to Evans. "Yeah, we could spend weeks here and still get to only half of what this place holds. This library ought to be of particular interest. Lots of scrolls and books in these crates."

Gerok looks around, showing a bit of disappointment, "It appears that the only information we will gather is what we can find in the crates and rooms."

Evans shakes his head. "We shouldnt be too dissapointed in this people," Then adds, "Sir. We have clues and the location of a lost offshoot of the Vulcan race. At least one of their colonies. We will learn a lot from this. Once we get back to the station."

A search of the entire area will show the same results..no personal effects remain. Only the lowest and oldest technology has been left. The crates themselves might possibly have been forgotten.

Gerok nods, "I agree, Mister Evans. Prepare all the crates for transport back to the Station."

Evans nods. And gets to work.

McAnally assists Evans in moving the heavy crates.

Dakin also helps Evans out with the removal of the crates.

Gerok walks around looking at the history of the place, lost in thought.

Gerok orders all the crates placed in statis fields and beams them, and the away team back to the Amazon.

McAnally greets Leah and Dray, and doffs her severe weather gear quickly. Reclaiming her pilot's seat, she plots a course for S419.

Dakin gives Leah a reassuring smile as he returns and goes in the back to stow his gear.

The runabout arrives back at Station 419 safe and sound.
