How do I play at Anomaly TrekMUX?Anomaly TrekMUX is a text-based environment. That means that there is no graphical interface. All of your communication is done through typing, and reading what others have typed or what the server sends to you. You must log into the server (anomaly.mushpark.com 2120, or click the 'CONNECT' button to the left), and create an account. We recommend that you connect using a client, though. The best client we've found is SimpleMU. Once you have created an account, you need to enter into Character Generation (also called 'chargen'). Throughout chargen, you are given a variety of options and choices so that you may further customize your character to your specifications. Note that some things are locked down due to thematic reasons or for population control. When you are finished with character generation, you must apply for approval, which means that the production crew must review and approve your application for thematic issues. Each application is thoroughly reviewed for theme and content. We demand high quality in all of our applications. If you do not take the time to read the news, it is unlikely you will be approved. There is a general 24 hour turn-around on applications. Sometimes it takes a little less time, sometimes it takes a little more. We have created a sample character, located here, to provide you with a better understanding of what sorts of details we are looking for in both description and background, as well as the information located in +finger and +info. If you've never played on a MU* before, you can find some
excellent resource materials located at the MUSH
Warehouse. |
