This is Anomaly TrekMUX's policy concerning intellectual property.
As the creator of your character and his or her story you "own" the
intellectual property rights for your character. You also own any code which
you generate here, whether for your own use, or for the use of others. This
means you may take your character to another MU* or write a novel involving
your character, for example.
However, by playing here and adding to the database, you give Anomaly TrekMUX
the non-exclusive right to use for an indefinite period any material which
you may contribute to it. This includes anything you add to the database,
such as (but not limited to code), backgrounds, descriptions, and buildings,
and any stories in which you might become involved. As a matter of respect,
Anomaly TrekMUX will generally not take control of a player character away
from the player who created it. This will only be done in extreme cases
where the goal is to remove the character from the game in such a way that
preserves game continuity.

Anomaly TrekMUX may, however, continue to use the buildings that a player
built for a character, objects that the player made for the character,
background information of that character in continuing storylines, etc.
This policy is necessary to maintain game continuity as otherwise we could
be forced into retcons, sudden natural disasters and other means to
remove all traces of any character that decides to leave.
Use of any material on this MUX without permission of the creator of
that material (or copyright owner) is prohibited. This includes copying
code, building descriptions, news files, etc., for use in another game that
you did not create yourself. This also includes use of the characters and
storylines here in a written story. To use someone else's character in a
story, you will have to ask the player who created that character for
permission. For background, setting and other material held as part of the
general copyright on Anomaly TrekMUX, see the producer.
