We've made every effort to make character generation simple and easy to use.
Character generation starts at the broadest point: 'I want to be Ferengi',
for example, and ends at the most detailed: 'I want my Ferengi to have
Medical Science skill with Forensics as his specialty'.

The first stage is race selection. Some races are not available to Starfleet
characters. The second stage is 'branch' or 'occupation' selection (the job
that your PC holds). You may be prompted to select items between these
stages as not all Ferengi PC's are identical. Once you have selected all of
the important skills necessary to do your job, you will move into the
Development Point phase. Development Points are a way for you to customize
your character. All PC's start out with 25 development points. Development
points can be spent to buy additional Attribute points, Skill points, Edges
or Specialties. Please see '+info costs' for pricing guidelines.

Once you have completed Development Point spending, you should set your
character's background (see '+help bg' and 'news background' for important
info on setting your background). Once you have completed background
setting, it is into the Finishing Touches room! The Finishing Touches is
where you are assigned your uniform, your rank and your equipment, as well
as sets important information on you. Characters cannot apply for approval
unless all information is set. If you are missing information, you may be
asked to go back through character generation and start over. If you have
somehow 'messed up', do not panic. Please fill out a request '+help request'
to have your sheet fixed or use +restart to start the chargen process over.
