Medical Kit
A medical kit, or 'medkit,' is designed for away mission use. It contains the basics for field
treatment of injuries, including a medical tricorder, two multimode hyposprays, an autosuture,
a dermal regenerator, a blood infuser, a defibrillator, a PADD and a neural stimulator.
- Autosuture
This device is designed to seal ruptured blood vessels, mend broken bones and close wounds.
It uses molecular bonding technology, though the repairs do no substitute for actual healing.
This allows for stabilization until the patient can visit sickbay.
- Dermal Regenerator
This heals small wounds, removes scars and eradicates mild infections. It can not heal
an open laceration longer than 8cm. It is also a simple tool to use.
- Hypospray
These are the primary method of drug delivery, injecting the drugs through the patient's
skin and into his bloodstream using compressed air. It can also inject intravenous or intramuscular.
The injections can be delivered through light clothing.
- Neural Stimulator
A Neural stmulator allows the doctor to suppress or increase the patient's neural
activity.
