Isolinear Chips

Isolinear chips are the storage medium for the Federation. They use single-axis optical crystal layering for storage and can store up to 2.15 kiloquads of data in holographic format. To make the chips portable they can be treated with a protective tripolymer sealant allowing them to be handled without protective gloves.
