Environmental SuitsThe Environmental Suit, or EVA (Extravehicular Activity), is designed to protect the user in hostile environments such as a hostile planet or space. The EVA suits are comfortable and light, but are still restrictive for the user. They protect the user from a zero atmosphere environment to one with five times the normal atmosphere. They also protect against temperatures from -100 Celsius to 120 Celsius. The suit will automatically repair small rips, but larger rips must be repaired by the user. The suit is typically equipped with six patches for this purpose. A small belt houses the life support system which can purify the air and recycle drinking water for up to 25 hours. The suit also includes gravitic boots allowing the user to walk on solid surfaces while in a zero gravity environment. Controls for the boots, the communicator, the visor and the helmet-mounted lights are located on the wrist. |
