Solok

Species:  Ferengi

Position: Owner, Electronic Solutions

Summary:

2345: Solok is born on Ferenginar, but details of his childhood are relatively sketchy. His father owns a consortium of electronics manufacturers.

2369: Solok leaves Ferenginar, for reasons unknown. He travels to Starbase 402 with a cargoload of poor-quality electronics, and sets up a shop there.

2373: A Klingon is found murdered on Station 402. Evidence from the scene of the crime shows that he had been killed by repeated blasts from a low-energy, high-spread beam weapon that doesn't fit the parameters of any known weapon. Estimated effectiveness of such a device is low. The analysis suggests a homemade weapon.

2374: A Zakdorn suspect is arrested as the prime suspect in the case of the murdered Klingon. Found on his person is a device matching the characteristics of the murder weapon. The Zakdorn fingers Solok as the source of the weapon.

2374: Solok's premises are searched, turning up numerous crude weapons. Solok is charged with numerous weapons offenses, which are later dropped as a result of a deal made with station security, wherein Solok turned over a list of customers. Most of Solok's merchandise is seized as evidence.

2375: Solok sells his shop, leaving Starbase 402 for Station 419, arriving with a small supply of cheap electronic goods. He sets up a shop that markets various electronic "household solutions", gizmos, knick-knacks, and other junk. Also handles repairs.

2375: Janzon Nilee arrives aboard Station 419. Shortly thereafter, she is murdered, and the Nilee symbiont is transferred to Galen Merus (who becomes Galen Nilee).

2375: Galen Nilee reveals that Janzon Nilee had been in possession of certain stolen Romulan artifacts, and that she had sold these to Solok.

2375: Solok is arrested in conjunction with the theft. At the time of his arrest, he is carrying a concealed disruptor. Weapons offenses are added to the charges.

2375: Solok's premises are searched, but there is no sign of the artifacts.

2375: Solok makes a deal to reveal the location of the artifacts in exchange for a waiving of all charges, and repayment of his costs.

2375: Solok remains in business, maintaining the same levels of honesty and ethical standards as ever.
