Summary:

2365: Graduated from the prestigious Ba’dorah military academy on Cardassia Prime under the sponsorship of Gul Rolek Elan.

2366: Served as a junior tactical officer during the final days of Bajor’s occupation. Develops a deep seeded dislike of Bajorans as he spends three days as a hostage to Bajoran terrorists.

2367: Fought during the closing months of the Cardassian/Federation war, where he was commended by Central Command for helping to extract one hundred marines from a Federation colony that might have otherwise been taken prisoner.

2369: Helped to coordinate the Cardassian navy’s evacuation from the newly established Cardassian/Federation DMZ.

2372: Participated in the great Cardassian revolution to overthrow the Obsidian Order and form a civilian government. He fought on the side of the people, receiving the rank of Kel for his actions when the new government took over.

2372: Fought at the start of the second Cardassian/Klingon war, where the ship he was serving on was destroyed. After being found in the wreckage, he received massive third degree burns on the left side of his body and lay in a coma for almost a week.

2372: Becomes one of billions of Cardassians overjoyed at the prospect of Gul Dukat’s new alliance with the Dominion. He watches as Jem’hadar soldiers deliver food and medical supplies to poor Cardassians on the streets of Cardassia Prime. He hopes for a brighter future for his downtrodden people.

2374: Overjoyed at the prospect of open warfare, Matael helps to formulate a strategy for the successful capture and occupation of the Betazed system during the Alliance/Dominion war.

2375: The Cardassian fleet turns on its Dominion allies during the battle of Getha. Terrik is caught in the middle of the Dominion’s retribution and is forced to flee Cardassia Prime with a handful of Cardassian soldiers on his ship, the Junkot. He and the ship’s skeleton crew spend the next few months as rogues, attacking Dominion ships in hit and run attacks.

2376: Joins the Cardassian Algrian Exiliarchy and renounces all old allegiances to the Dominion. He finds out that his parents, wife and all seven of his children were victims of the Dominion’s attempted genocide of Cardassia Prime.

2377: Involved in formulating a strategy for the third Alliance assault on Cardassia Prime. The alliance assault begins to make inroads, but then many in the alliance lose stomach and the attack ends in a peace treaty. Matael is shocked and disappointed.

2378: Assigned to station 419 Upsilon as a liaison officer to represent the Algrian Exiliarchy’s military interests.

Proficiencies: Highly skilled tactician, naval strategist and invasion strategist. Possibly one of the best that the Cardassians have to offer. He can keep cool under pressure, and never reacts without considering the consequences. Matael can also be a great ally if one can cut past his arrogance and abrasiveness and reach his softer core.

Deficiencies: Does not work well with others, especially those he does not know. Very abrasive, rude and arrogant. Occasionally, he has a penchant for relaxation and Kanar over doing his work. Does not know when to keep his mouth closed. He can also be quite dry at times.
