Isole Arnan
Species: Centauran
(Starborn)
Position: Owner, Dream Factory
Summary:
2350: Born to CTC Hernes Chief Engineer Erisa Arnan aboard the CTC Hernes enroute to Earth. The Hernes is a low-warp deep space trade vessel operating under the auspices of the Centauran Trading Consortium (CTC). It lacks gravity and artificial light, being highly out of date technologically and poorly funded. Its crew ply for survival, not for profit.
2362: Due to her emerging computer skills and technical abilities, she becomes Quarter Sharesman aboard the CTC Hernes at the rank of Midshipman. During her physical, she is declared a 'lifer', someone whose time in zero-g and in the conditions aboard the Hernes would find it difficult and possibly fatal to switch to a life of gravity and atmosphere. Ironically, this is the year the Hernes finally installs gravity. In deference to the many lifers aboard, the gravity well is gradually increased over the course of years to minimize what the Spacers refer to as 'Planetside Syndrome'.
2364: Becomes Half Sharesman aboard the CTC Hernes at the rank of Engineer Third Class. Medical problems continue to arise. Her menstrual cycle is erratic and ultimately absent.
2366: Promoted to Engineer Second Class.
2367: Becomes Full Sharesman aboard the CTC Hernes at the rank of Engineer First Class. This is the highest rank attainable to any midshipman engineer. She undergoes a hysterectomy due to the medical complications surrounding her emergent Planetside Syndrome.
2368: At the age of eighteen, she chooses to leave the Hernes Crew. She maintains her Consortium status and rank. This decision is based primarily upon the continued taxation of her body under the conditions aboard the Hernes and the changes continuing to occur aboard the ship. Secondarily, it's a teen angst inspired rebellion that she will later regret.
2369: Upon receiving treatment for her Planetside Syndrome from Federation Medical Staff -- enough to allow her to function day to day in Gravity -- Isole once more departs upon the tradeways to seek her fortune. Anemia and brittle bones will continue to plague her for the rest of her life.
2370: Unable to find work aboard a merchant vessel with her backward technical skills and lack of practical 24th century technical savvy, Isole resorts to petty crime to make ends meet.
2371: Her path leads her inexorably towards a brothel situated at the edge of Federation Space.
2372: Upon learning of her computer skills, the brothel owner -- a member of the Orion Syndicate -- offers her a chance to make one of her dreams come true: easy money and the chance to open her own business under her personal control. The catch? All she has to do is a few side jobs regarding computer espionage. To her, there is no catch.
2373: Operating under the handle 'Sprite', Isole begins the typical descent into Syndicate crime, one incremental increase of risk and knowledge at a time.
2375: Older and wiser for her life since leaving the Hernes, Isole becomes both shrewd and situationally cold. Sensing the Syndicate noose around her neck, she refuses a job offer, takes her money, and heads to Dulcais. She freely admits to her past in the hopes of a clean break and a chance at a new life. Leases the Dream Factory aboard Station 419
2376: Assists Starfleet crews in deflecting an asteroid on a collision course for the station.
2376: Receives Presidential Pardon for all crimes committed previous to the Pardon's issuance. In return she enters into contract labor for the Federation Science Council under terms of Non-Disclosure.
Proficiencies: Computer Programming and Network Infiltration, Trade Law, Mercantile, Shipboard Systems, Systems Engineering, Material Engineering, Zero-G Training.
Deficiencies: Isole has what could politely be called an 'attitude problem'.
