How to get your own cast page on Anomaly

First and foremost, you must be an active player on Anomaly.

Download the following file and unzip it. Be sure to keep the directory structure intact.

Character Template Zip File

File Name Conventions

Anomaly uses file name conventions for organizational purposes. Your cast page should be named:

cast-<account-name>.html

Do not use .htm extensions. Do not use nicknames or first names. If your account name has hyphens or other 'odd' characters, do not include the odd characters or spaces. Just run it all together as one word.

Existing Cast Page Update

If you have an existing cast page, please use it. If you have an existing page on the site but do not have it saved on your computer, you can download it off the site using the following steps:

Open your page in a browser, WITHOUT THE FRAME WINDOWS. This is best accomplished if you know the file name of your page. If you followed the correct format, it will be named cast-<yourname>.html (with no special characters). For instance:

http://anomaly.mushpark.com/cast-tyler.html

View the Source of the HTML document. On IE, this is accomplished with clicking View > Source. When the text editor window pops up, it should have your page in it. Use Save-As into the Cast Pages directory for editing. DO NOT SAVE-AS on the HTML. View the Source first, so that no links are compromised.

Editing Your Page

Editing your page is a simple matter, and can be performed in an HTML editing client or with Notepad. Load the template page and modify what you need to.

Note, do not alter the HTML code, merely change the text. It does not all have to fit in the sample entries - if you need to add more entries, just make sure they follow the same HTML format as the previous entries.

Be sure to preview your changes in a browser. Fix it if it is broken.

Decorations

In order to set your decorations, see the file inside the template Zip named decorations.txt. All officers who served on board Station 419 from Oct 2373, until Jan 1, 2376 (from Oct 00 until Jan 1, 2003) have the Presidential Unit Citation. It should be displayed first. If your character came onto the game after Jan 1, 2003, they do not have this award.

Images

If you do not have an image, leave it pointing to the no-photo image.

If you have an image, it needs to be named in the following format:

<character-account-name>.<extension>

If your account has hypens or other 'odd' characters, do not include the odd-characters or spaces, just have it all run together as one word. Do not use nicknames or first names.

You need to place your image in the correct directory. The directory structure should be as follows if you unzipped correctly:

Cast Pages
       + images
            + buttons
+ cast <<< Your Image Goes Here

Link to your image in the following directory link:

images/cast/<yourname>.<ext>

Almost There...

Save the file.

Zip your HTML file together with your picture. EVEN IF YOU HAVE NO IMAGE, ZIP THE FILE.  Sometimes your email clients do weird things and the lengthy process to extract the attachment is tedious. If this occurs, it will be rejected. Zipping the file ensures it will arrive as expected for ease of extraction.

DO NOT SEND ANY OTHER FILES. Just your cast-<yourname>.html file and your image.

Attach and Email the file to the address in Grey's +finger information.

Be patient.

And that's that.
