2378: LT Goodwin promoted to Lieutenant Commander during annual officer evaluations. Reassigned to Station 419 as second officer to replace outgoing LCDR Poole.
2378: Supervises joint Security/Counterintelligence investigation into the presence of Orion Syndicate agents aboard Station 419. Investigation reveals the presence of one agent, a Ms. Neya, who was passing messages to a handler via subspace. LCDR Goodwin secures a confession and prevents her extradition to Klingon space where she would be "mindripped" a tortuous interrogation method.
2378: Leads FDS/JOC diplomatic mission to Occa Prime for the opening of the Federation Embassy and Humanity Heritage Center. Center is taken by rebels during opening and Goodwin attempts to talk them down, meeting success until Lieutenant Laco (K.I.A.) attacks. In the wake of Laco's death, a stand-off between Occan political factions develops and the team is permitted to beam out.
2378: Commands the U.S.S. Thomas Paine-C to investigate the disappearance of the IKS Ta'Kang. Though damaged, the Paine engages the U.S.S. Corso and IKS Kar'tath of the "New Federation Alliance." Assists the Romulan warbird Berlan to destroy the Kar'tath and forces the Corso to withdraw.
2378: Joins FDS and allied diplomatic delegations in welcoming the Marcedans, a humanoid race believed to be an off-shoot of the original Vulcan race, to the Station. Conducts First Contact protocol and receives diplomatic credentials, formally admitting the Marcedans to the Dulcais Sector Diplomatic Conference.
2378: Park added on 55180.0: Patient infected with Marcadean Influenza. Vaccinated within 48 hours of outbreak and released to duty with no ill effects.
2378: Supervises a team of junior officers during the diplomatic training simulation, "Taming the Dragon." Uses Socratic-style questions to guide mission team along proper path, while not directly interfering with the simulation, allowing the junior officers to carry out key mission functions. Simulation focuses on inter-personal relations, diplomacy, and non-violent conflict resolution.
2378: Commands Operations during an unscheduled drill from Dulcais Strategic Operations. Repels twenty-five drones serving as Cardassian ships. Exercise tests strategic awareness, fire discipline, and serves as a live test of Station weapons systems.
2378: Commands "Operation: Open Sesame" to infiltrate a Bak'Tur IKDF bunker subverted by unknown factions possibly sympathetic to the "New Federation Alliance." Team identifies five hundred warheads filled with biogenic weapons, but is unable to prevent suspects from being beamed out, or halt the self-destruct sequence of the bunker.
2378: Assists LTJG A. Lopez, Mission Operations officer, in testing the new rapid deployment missions kit. Participates in training simulation to put mission equipment through stress testing, leading a mission team through a crash landing and subsequent shuttle evacuation.
Proficiencies: Goodwin is a career command officer, and is known for his ability to trouble-shoot problems both internally and externally. He is proficient with diplomacy, administration, Federation law and regulations, as well as the details of intergalactic relations and commercial treaties.
Deficiencies: As a career "desk jockey," Goodwin lacks the practical line officer experience of many officers of his grade. He has only recently become more proficient with warfighting skills such as unarmed combat, phaser use, and ground and ship tactics, and has not had opportunities to put these newly learned skills to work.
