2344 - Born in Ottawa, Canada, Earth

2355 - During a vacation in space, Michael and his parents are captured by Orion pirates. A few months later, Starfleet rescues him and others from the pirates. His parents remain missing. He's sent back home to live with an aunt and uncle.

2362 - Accepted into Starfleet Academy.

2365 - Cadet Cruise aboard the USS Tiananmen is mostly uneventful.

2366 - Graduates from Starfleet Academy.

2366 - Assigned to the USS Hood as a Security Officer.

2370 - Promoted to Lieutenant, Junior Grade.

2370 - Transferred to USS Akira and assigned as the Assistant Chief of Security.

2372 - Involved in skirmishes with the Klingon Empire on the UFP/Klingon border.

2373 - The Akira is reassigned to the frontlines of the Dominion War.

2374 - The Akira is disabled while in combat with the Jem'Hadar. While undergoing repairs, several crewmembers are reassigned, including Lieutenant Edwards.

2374 - Assigned as Assistant Chief of Security aboard the USS Aegis.

2374 - Reassigned to Station 419 as a Security Officer.

2374 - Promoted to full Lieutenant and Chief of Security, Station 419.

2374 - Along with several others, Lieutenant Edwards gets marooned in an alternate universe where The Klingon/Cardassian Alliance has conquered the Terran Empire. He spends a few weeks on a dead runabout with his fellow officers, then a few weeks longer as an Alliance slave, before the Terran Rebellion assists with their return to our universe.

2374 - Recovers Ensign Gwendolyn Tyler from Captain Sinclaire, the rogue Starfleet Officer from the future, after making a deal to allow Sinclaire access to Ensign Tyler whenever she wishes. Reneges on deal, ultimately.

2375 - Participates in escorting Ambassador S'ral of Vulcan to the Siinogan, then rescuing Ambassador S'ral of Vulcan from the Siinogan.

2375 - Participates in the survey mission to the primitive world Irdosia, which results in disaster when the tachyon particles that result from the away team's cloaking suits cause a reaction in the dicosilium that the planet is satured with and supercharges it, causing massive energy discharges. The away team flees the scene, unable to find a reason for the energy discharges at first. Lieutenant Edwards is instrumental in discovering the reason on a return mission, however.

2375 - With Lieutenant Marcus Kallan, Ensign Philip Laco, and Sublieutenant Jolvan, Lieutenant Edwards foils a plot by the Tal'Kaden, a Romulan terrorist organization, and rescues Lieutenant Nevaren and the Romulan Hiktir, the son of a Romulan Senator.

2375 - Witnesses the future of Station 419, with the assistance of Captain Sinclaire, and watches the Lithian invasion which results in the self-destruction of the station and countless deaths.

2375 - Defeats a Borg Cube while in command of the USS Aegis.

2375 - Marries Ensign Bela, Orion Engineer.

2375 - Captains the USS Thomas Paine to victory over Dominion forces in the Fimdari system.
