Summary:

2351: Born the eldest child of Dakin Sem and Dakin Kiri, both covert operatives for the Bajoran resistance against the Cardassian occupation of Bajor.  Parents credited with several acts of electronic sabotage against Cardassian overseers.

2355: Birth of younger sister Rya.

2368: Dakin and his family escape from the Bajor system.

2369: End of Cardassian occupation.  Dakin family returns home to Bajor.  Dakin Sem is conferred rank of Colonel in the Bajoran Militia and is posted to run their research and development division.  Dakin Kiri resumes her former post as one of the Bajoran Vedek Assembly.  Dakin Rya enrolls in the Bajoran seminary.  Dakin Rann enrolls in Starfleet Academy. 

2372: Spends cadet cruise aboard U.S.S. Appalachia, studying under that ship's security chief in the subjects of starship weaponry and battle tactics.

2373: Graduation from Starfleet Academy, third in class.  First posting is starship U.S.S. Aries.  Sees heavy combat in both the Klingon and Dominion Wars.

2373: Receives commendation for creative thinking under fire for his innovative means of helping to repel a Jem'hadar boarding party in the Aries' shuttlebay, using his tricorder to lock onto Starfleet commbadge signals, erect forcefields around those signals, and depressurize the bay into space.

2374: Transfers to Station 419-Upsilon's security detail, under command of Lt. Michael Edwards.

2374: Promoted to rank of Lieutenant (junior grade) and reassigned as Assistant Chief of Security, under Lt. Akihiro Ashida.

2374: Solves string of serial murders aboard the station found to be committed by an insane Betazoid medical officer, Ensign Fanya Dorani.

2374: Promoted to rank of Lieutenant and succeeds the departing Lt. Ashida as Chief of Security.

2375: Commands ground insertion team during Alliance liberation of Betazed.  Decorated for his participation in that campaign and additionally receives the Federation Medal of Freedom and the Starfleet Combat Medal.

2375: Gravely injured due to (EVENT CLASSIFIED BY STARFLEET COMMAND).  Recovery from his injuries necessitates a biosynthetic replacement of his left arm, a genetronic replacement of his entire spinal column, and several months of physical rehabilitation.  Eventually regains full motor function and ability to return to full duty.

2375: Leads a ground insertion team during the Battle of Occa.  

2375: Marries fellow Station 419 officer Ensign (res.) Morgan Leah.

2376: Twin children born, a son named Jacob and a daughter named Ryasharra.

2376: Reprimanded by Federation Diplomatic Service for disregard of FDS authority while attempting to capture Ambassador S'Terik, shortly following the ambassador's discovery as a spy for as-yet-unknown powers

2376: Decorated with Presidential Unit Citation.

2376: Decorated for participation in the Battle of Occa.

Proficiencies: Since his days at the Academy, Lt. Dakin has immersed himself in the arts of individual, unit-based, and capital-scale warfare.  He is rated as an Expert with the Type II phaser, is highly skilled in the use of shipboard tactical systems, and has a high degree of proficiency in unarmed martial arts.  He has years of experience in wartime situations and decorations to that effect, almost to an amount belying his youth.  Since transferring to Station 419, Lt. Dakin has found an opportunity to hone his abilities in the area of law enforcement, gaining knowledge in the areas of criminal interview, forensic pathology, and crime scene investigation.

Deficiencies: Lt. Dakin has a marked deficiency in the areas of interstellar diplomacy, which has proven to be an obstacle when prosecuting crimes across jurisdictions.  As such, the lieutenant has something of a disdain for diplomatic personnel, though there are exceptions to be named as those the lieutenant has personally befriended.  Lt. Dakin also has difficulties in the engineering aspects of tactical systems, a deficiency he is already on the path to removing.
