Caleb Denin Foster (SRN #419-39-10640)

Rank: Lieutenant, Junior Grade

Species: Human (Earth (Eureka, California) and Risa (Place of Birth))

Position: Rapid Response Officer, Station 419

Summary:

2354: Born to Attevius Foster (Lieutenant, Engineering, USS Hartford) and Jera Jeclien-Foster (Engineer, Weather Control Systems) on the latter's home planet of Risa. Jera dies from blood loss due to the stress of childbirth. Infant Caleb returns to the USS Hartford with his father.

2371: Caleb Foster transfers from the USS Hartford to a residence in Eureka, California, moving there with his father when he accepts an instructor's position at Starfleet Academy. Attevius Foster will be teaching entry-level Engineering courses, with a preference for hands-on work.

2373: Caleb Foster enters Starfleet Academy. His medical evaluation is normal for a human, though his psychological profile notes that he is taking an extremely difficult course load, and to keep an eye out for burnout.

2374: Cadet Foster ends his first year at Starfleet Academy with an overall ranking of 16th in his class. He is accepted into the Summer Accelerated Studies program and remains at Starfleet Academy for the summer semester.

2375: Cadet Foster declares his major as a Command branch officer. He ends his second year at Starfleet Academy with an overall ranking of 15th in his class. He remains at the Academy for the summer semester.

2375: During his third year at Starfleet Academy, Cadet Foster accepts a commission aboard the USS Letterman in lieu of a course in Starfleet Operations. While aboard the USS Letterman, receives a commendation from the Captain, T.S. Braddock. He returns to Earth the day of the Dominion attack on San Francisco.

2375: Cadet Foster ends his third year at Starfleet Academy with an overall ranking of 13th. He defers his senior cadet cruise in order to enter the Rapid Response Candidacy Program.

2376: After completing the RRT program, Midshipman Foster is assigned for his cadet cruise aboard Station 419-Upsilon, with Lieutenant Dylan Golden (SRN #419-1440-10184) commanding. Due to some kind of computer error in which acknowledgement was erroneously noted, Cadet Foster does not leave for Dulcais sector for nearly a week after his posting. As it turns out, this delay is good, as Cadet Foster is on hand when pirates attack a resupply shuttle from the S.S. Northram Benz. His actions result in the safety of the shuttle and all its passengers.

2376: Cadet Foster is awarded the Federation Medal of Valor for his part in maintaining the safety of Federation citizens against overwhelming odds.

2376: Midshipman Foster arrives on Station 419-Upsilon and is transferred from Starfleet into Timefleet. Classified to Security Clearance 7.

2376: Midshipman Foster participates in a junior-officer diplomatic mission to Kutros, a small vacation town on Kunra Prime. The mission is to deliver a plaque of friendship from the people of the Federation to the people of Kutros. Midshipman Kaitlyn Arlene Lanie (SRN #419-2751-10636) commanded the mission. During the mission, there was an attempt by the Ferengi to poison the relationship between Kunra and the Federation by creating a spy device with a Federation signature. This attempt was foiled. The Ferengi escaped. Classified to Security Clearance 6, eyes to Starfleet Intelligence.

2376: Midshipman Foster participates as pilot of the USS Aegis during Operation: Outpatient, LT Gwendolyn Elizabeth Tyler (SRN #419-564-98921) commanding. This operation involves the rescue of a kidnapped Andorian psychic from the clutches of a shadowy Romulan Operations team amidst a series of difficulties including complete shield disruption, loss of helm control, and an unknown class of Romulan vessel capable of detonating depth charges into subspace. Classified to Security Clearance 7.

2377: Midshipman Foster participates as part of the Fire Team of Operation: Far Bayou. This mission occured on the swamp moon of Telaegor, the fifth moon of the planet Goerada in the Veh'shal S'a system, a system under Romulan control. For the cadet, this mission included an attempted drowning by a huge Telaegoran snake, roughly equivalent to an Earth anaconda (but much, much bigger) and the severing and cauterization of his right leg approximately ten inches below his hip. Due to this injury, Cadet Foster did not participate in the succeeding operations. After reattachment, he was restricted to a hoverchair for two weeks and regular weekly exercises for three months. Classified to Security Clearance 7.

2377: Marries Kaitlyn Arlene Lanie (SRN #419-2751-10636).

2377: Cadet Foster graduates from Starfleet Academy with an overall ranking of 4th in his class. He is promoted to the rank of Ensign and commissioned as Station 419-Upsilon's Rapid Response Team Combat Insertion Pilot.

2377: For outstanding courage, honor and faithful service to duty, and with the authorization of Admiral Brand (Starfleet Academy Commandant) and Admiral Jorgensen (Starfleet Command), Ensign Caleb Denin Foster is conferred a field promotion to the rank of Lieutenant, Junior Grade.

2377: LTJG Caleb Foster attempts, and passes, the Line Officer's Exam.

2377: LTJG Foster participates in Operation: Repo Man, LT Hiroshi Takamura (SRN #419-1854-10336) commanding. This mission is a temporal mission to return to 22nd Century San Francisco and find and destroy the timepod used by the faux-Professor Berlingoff Rasmussen aboard the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-D) on or about stardate 45349.1. The timepod is located and destroyed, but a young man is captured who had been carrying a dead body that turns out to be Lieutenant Dylan Golden, aged some forty years beyond his documented age at relative time of mission. Lieutenant Golden's body is recovered and brought back with the team, while the man who was carrying it is also brought back and placed in stasis. Classified to Security Clearance 7.

2377: LTJG Foster participates as pilot of the USS Thomas Paine in Operation: Homeward Bound, a mission to rescue the stranded Christine Hurley from the Mirror Universe. During this mission, the Thomas Paine locates Ensign Hurley aboard the Mirror Universe version of the Constitution-class USS Exeter, at the time involved in combat with a Klingon vessel easily three times the size of a Galaxy-class starship. After punching through its shields, and with the sacrifice of the Exeter's saucer section, the Klingon vessel is destroyed. Ensign Hurley is rescued, and the Mirror Hurley returned to the Resistance by her own request. Classified to Security Clearance 5.

2377: LTJG Foster participates in an attempted rescue mission of the USS Hannibal, carrying seven Timefleet specialists including his partner, Megan Donavon, when its distress signal is received. The Hannibal is not found, but Lieutenant Foster receives a commendation for his actions at the helm during a confrontation between the Thomas Paine and eight D'deridex-class Romulan warbirds found at the site of the Hannibal's distress call.

Proficiencies: Lieutenant Junior Grade Foster is extremely intelligent, and has a strong bent for practical/logical application over theory. He is an exceptionally competent pilot, easily one of the best in the Dulcais area, possibly in the entire Federation, and this expertise is divided amongst craft ranging from the smallest shuttlecraft to the largest capital ships. This skill is the primary source of his renown.

Lieutenant Junior Grade Foster is unusually well-known among the ranks of the various female human(oid) species he encounters. He's got the reputation, knowingly or not, of being the type of man who makes any woman he's speaking with, from Klingon Warrior to Orion Freewoman, feel as if she is the most special woman on the station. It's only when he walks away that she realizes something: He speaks, but never touches, and hardly ever looks.

Deficiencies: Lieutenant Junior Grade Foster has few flaws or deficiencies, with the possible exception of his mouth. Sometimes it gets ahead of his brain and he says things that he would be better off not saying. Lieutenant Foster is direct and to the point almost to a fault, and this sometimes gets him in trouble. He can also sometimes throw caution to the wind just for a new sensation or personal enjoyment (in, apparently, anything but matters of the heart).
